Many thanks to all who suggested the Mugen Civic. I had many tries with all of the few 80's cars and never got close except at La Sarthe. I didn't realize you could use the Mugen because it was a race car. So thanks again because I have enough gray hair as it is. This seasonal was one that I had decided to let go since I wasn't having any luck at all. The Mugen was the answer.

I did not try at a lower power point but now that I have won it I may go back and try it again with lower PP, though not any time soon.

The good thing is that when you have your r89c,you might think that your time is well spent because when you drive the r92cp and the r89c,the r89c is a better car.so it's hard but it time well spent

I've been having a blast with this seasonal!

I started out trying some of the cars mentioned in this thread, like the Mugen, but I didn't like the way any of them handled. I then found the Eunos Roadster '89 in my garage. I tried it out, but the stock handling was driving me crazy as well with the oversteer and weight transfer issues.

So I decided to use it as my first full tuning exercise, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I was able to win all of the races, and the car is a blast to drive, especially on Deep Forest and Mt. Amo. The grip is superb which is great for these courses.

Here are my results in terms of pp. Some of you really fast guys are probably a second or two faster than me on each lap so I'm sure you can go even lower

Tsukuba - 420pp
Deep Forest - 360pp (could have gone lower but didn't try)
London - 420pp (could have gone lower but not much, maybe 415 or 410)
La Sarthe - 380pp (could have gone lower)
Mt. Amo - 365pp

Here's the tune in case anyone is interested. This is the 420pp tune. Taking all the parts off will get it down to around 370, so you'll have to use ballast or power limiter to go lower

It's because after the first section, you're 12 seconds behind the 1st person to cross that line, not 1st place on track.

I knew that :banghead:

Dude, this setup is amazing! Worked perfectly for Tsukuba and London. Just used SRF to cheapen it a little. Thanks so much!

Also had the worst lineup possible I think with no miattas and not skyline.

Can't get better than 1:09:100 per lap,

Maybe I'm just ****e

Deep forest reverse is such an awesome track! I'm having such a blast with my 400pp Isuzu , it handles like a dream. I am a bit annoyed though that DF is so much more easier than Tsukuba which gave me a handful of grey hairs...

Just won Tsukuba in my Isuzu 4200r with TCS 1, might not have needed it. Didn't use SRF.

You definitely need the city turbo, it delays the rabbit for about a lap.

Each lap was about 1:08 or worse.

I beat the Roadster with the Roadster but I used SRF. I had to make the decision whether I would rather beat the fastest lineup with SRF or not beat the best lineup.

first of all, I'm very happy with challenging races like this seasonal, very good..
second, passed through all courses with '89 Eunos roadster enjoying each necessary try, had a lot of fun
third, LUV2DRIVE, will try your settings alternatively because I do not get this London city thing finished gold, best I got until now was minus 0,4secs...
tried mugen civic, city turbo II (I rembered hardly that I hate FF), MR2, RX7, Skyline and 4200R too heavy... does anybody has another good one to try
(guess London city is not my favourite) thank you guys

I used the civic mogen hardest seasonal ever

Rockford
I used the civic mugen hardest seasonal ever

That's what I used to. I don't use assist anymore since having wheel. But with this seasonal I realized that the F in SRF stands for friend! I dropped 2 seconds a lap with SRF turned on,and finally beat tsukuba!

luv2drive thanks for posting your setup I will try it tonight.

The premium roadster is really good. I won London by a mile with it even when the roadster started first. Just try not to slide it, and stay off the walls.

I'm sure there's a ton more time in this car with some fiddling, but this was a quick-n-dirty setup that got me through Tsukuba.

Car will be on shared status later tonight if anyone wants to play around with it.

great setup I placed first at the end of the 4th lap against 2 mx-5 there was a Accord in front slowing the mx-5 down I guess thanks for posting setup I beat this race earlier using a rally car it's nice to beat it with a road car:D I tried with my 300zx tt '89 couldn't get the car to accelerate fast enough I beat Deep Forest though

I won at Tsukuba with the same car and the same aids

I used a toyota Celica XX 81, 217hp 411pp, crashed on the last lap but still won by .049
I got 100K extra for the pp TOTAL at Deep Forest 440K

Car used Eunos roadster NA

luv2drive setup - I won the Tsukuba Circuit the city turbo was the 1st starting car cought him on the last lap right before the last turn. I change the lsd - to 20,50,25, brake balance 6,7. max hp 190, weight 940kg, 3 turbo,

I won the deep forest on the 1st try. On the 2nd lap ran down civic city turbo.

I won the London city race, chase down the 1st place skyline gts-r r31 on the end of the 4th lap.

I won the Cicuit de la sarthe, this was easy chase down eunos roadster on the 1st lap, set the upper top speed to 145mph.

I won the Mt. Aso Tarmac, man chase down the 1st car a Skyline ht 2000 rs-x turbo beat him on the 3 lap.

Man I'm glad this is over, I was stuck on the 1st race.

Thanks luv2drive

Keep to roadster. Lower trans to 180kph. It wins the London by quite a big margin on my first try.
Not sure of the AI lineup but I could be just lucky. If I remember right, it was gts upfront. Try not to slide the car much and 2 wheels some kerbs. I was on srf and auto on that attempt. Will try without once I am thru my 9 hrs enduro.

I cracked Tsukuba and London with the Civic Race Car as well

I would see someone would hate the Civic because it understeers badly. A solution to this issue is to put 200kgs of ballast to the back to change the weight distribution from 60 at the front to around 51-53 up front, and with that you can have around 200ps to play with.

Chaps, that Mt. Aso track did look familiar, i think it was from an earlier FR Seasonal...

I managed a win with 390pp with my Isuzu Concept at La Sarthe, thanks to a bit of corner cutting and surprisingly what looked like a crash on the map at the front of the pack!

A bit off topic, but has anyone noticed on the Classic Car Championship at how, on mount Aso, the AI seems to make a 12 second gap to 22 seconds in the first lap with perfect driving?

From an earlier post of mine;

""Won $1,168,225 at le Sarthe..exp 117667 with the Isuzu Concept with the engine at minimum 50% 365PP, 147bhp, max ballast 200kg to 1700kg.
Easy money if you need to build up.""

There is a bit of corner cutting required and blocking of the faster cars, which they nearly all seem to be.

you will be able to beat this race with the 1600 MR2 you upgrade and stage 3 weight reduction after upgrade power limiter down to 420. now on the track of tsukuba you should be able to get a lap time of 1:09 if your around the corners quick enough, power sliding helps and bracing some of the ai cars

Untuned Mugen Motul Civic no aids except SRF to on. Won all events except Tsukuba without much problem. Had to cycle opponents until the Miata of doom wasn't on point.

You can win, even if the miata is first. I love how some people complain; first the challenges were too easy, now they are too hard because they are not in first place after two rounds. It seems like it is never right. Personally I liked this one a lot.

I rarely do the seasonals as I am a horrible driver, but I am still working at this just becase I don't want to pay for the R89C.
If anyone has a surefire way of winning, please let me know. I still can't beat it.

Just for fun decided to try and win at la Sarthe with the above car with the same tune but without cutting any corners.
Had two tries and couldn't do any better than 3rd each time, 11 sec's behind the MX5 Miata. Still blocked though.
Mind you, I'm watching the Olympics on the other TV at the same time. Well that's my excuse anyway.

Easy to do if you buy a Isuzu Concept for $300,000 in new cars then copy the tune some pages back to get it to 420PP.

If you still have trouble dont start against the Miata and the other faster ones talked about here. Can't remember which ones are the slower ones now but they are mentioned here.

I won the 4200R in a B-Spec race, Imight try that.

I'd like to see which car you used(if you used the Izuzu, feel free to disregard). Also, complaining about complaining only validates it and polarizes the situation. Try ignoring it. I agree. This event was lots of fun!

Honda Accord was on pole:

mission finished, LUV2DRIVE: great roadster setup! tried again today and overtook leading 89' Eunos roadster in the last corner with same car. Have to state that my yesterdays minus 0,4secs was on only lowered height - suspension... just for notice: installed supercharger instead of low turbo, gives more torque through whole rpm.

Won the Tsukuba race with Pajero Rally Car, the lead car was Nissan Skyline R32 GTst type M, passed it on the last lap. Haven't tried the car with Miata as the lead.
