A free roaming, huge map based on Japan, simcade experience.
Early Access on Steam soon I believe.
It looks gorgeous

Drops tomorrow.

The car list is pretty small by today's standards, (4 Hondas, 5 Mazdas, 9 Nissans, 4 Subarus + Unlicensed AE86, 3000GT/GTO, & Lancer Evo), but they claim many more are coming through DLC (which could be for better or worse, monetary wise).

Looks like they at least went to great lengths to model a lot of modifications & the map, tmu, is decently sized.

It looks like you can swap drive trains on some cars, like the Honda Acty kei truck, can be made real wheel drive and turbo'ed into a drift monster :)

Even the interior can be modded, with things like a samurai sword handle gear shift lever!

It's $35, but they've slashed it by 15% as an introductory offer. It's opened to Mixed reviews, though; mostly optimization & AI still need work.

Not exactly impressed by them jumping on the new dev bandwagon of "let's hide behind the development roadmap to pretend our game isn't still early access so we can charge for a full release", because it definitely feels like it's not finished and needs a few more months to finish implementing things.

That said, the concept behind it is solid and since we're not likely to get an official Initial D game anymore, it's certainly going to fill a need that the half-baked drift modes in sim games weren't.

(also how was this game able to get the Honda license but Genki is still struggling to get it for TXR, I swear auto licensing makes no sense at all)
