Sorry guys but there will be a late reg change for the Arta. After more testing and a couple of pm's now the Arta is way too sluggish in accelerating so we will be opting out the -10hp reduction for +10kg weight instead. Its not as slow with acceleration and it tames its hi corner speed instead.

Can you guys test the celica vs arta with the new specs at route x and tell me the results please , no rush ofcourse .
 
No one can expect their car to be the best everywhere, or equal to the best. The Lexus will be good in top speed. The Garaiya will be good in corner entry. There's cars with select qualities and that should stay. Equaling the cars should be done on certain tracks that are neutral. Don't expect cars like the Celica to be at the front at a place like Monza or Daytona. But tracks like Suzuka is it's home. Stop and go tracks like Motegi favor cars with good acceleration. But turns 5-6 is what makes the Garaiya so good there. You can easily gain a half second on other cars because of it's turn in. Weight also plays a huge part. That increases braking distance and slows acceleration. So we gotta take that into consideration too when we spec'd the cars. But with the variety of tracks, I think all the cars will be pretty close through the season.

Fantastic, as BAZZER said a few to many track scenes, perhaps replace with more racing, but all round 👍

Also, could be cool if you could "steal" some generic commentary material that fits some of the cut scenes, maybe some in Japanese too,

Its easy to be picky when your so computer useless your confused by a typewriter :lol:

fully agree with the Arta reg change.

Willfred I see nothing wrong video quality wise, just a lack of on track action. But that can be addressed after the preseason rounds and you have some actual racing footage lol.
Also with the action it seems like you just holding on for a second too soon if you get me? Like shorter snapper cuts to cars then cutting away.
The suzuka clip for example, that was what 3 corners? shouldve either been entry to degner, or both degners, not both
 
Ive been looking at a lot of replays from last season , I got no fastest laps in the Celica .

If you guys are giving the Arta 374 hp please consider giving the Celica 374 hp as well .

I would say that Calum , Uga and I are pretty even when it comes to driving skills and I couldnt match any of their lap times last season thats why i suggested dropping the Arta hp by 10 to match the Celica .

You guys did drop it but now have raised it back .
 
Since we established the ARTA was fastest overall last season and best in corners, 10kg would be a good way to even things out.

All these cars are interesting I gotta say. My observations were:

The Subaru and Lexus turn in slower but exit strong. The Subaru more traction, Lexus more turn.

The ARTA and Celica have great brakes and balance but the Celica lacks top end grunt. Has good wear though.

So where does the RX7 fit in? I think it's kinda in between. It's a nice car to sprint in.

How they achieve their overall lap time is different, but in the end times are close. Awesome.
 
The Celica top speed issue becomes a bigger issue as you gain success ballast .
 
Celica is just as quick as the Arta in the twisty stuff. I'd be happy to give the Celica 374 provided it gets 10-20kg more added to it. The Celica shouldnt be made any faster overall lap time based. So any HP boost needs to be balanced by a weight gain.

I think the main reason the Celica is slow in straight line is that it can't have a stage 3 upgrade. Smething to be looked at for season 3 (a total regs overhaul now is out of the question) is stage 3 tuning. Only the Celica and rx7 don't have it and they pay. The Celica is slow, and the rx7 is shocking getting out of the corners.

But to be fair guys, the regs were announced weeks ago, we shouldn't be starting this discussion now lol, that time has been and gone.

Like Phil says, all the lap times are close, it's just how they get there. Inevitably some cars will struggle more than others when overtaking, but without making them dominant in qualifying spec there's nothing that can be done

The only reason i brought it up is because i saw the arta received a upgrade .

10 more kg for 10 more hp is fair
 
Yeah I understand why you brought it up mate, just trying to stop people dragging up every car lol.

You'll have to ask whoever is doing the car regulations to test out a way to give you +10hp without a lap time improvement.

I'm about to do that tonight. I figure suzuka and laguna seca will be good test tracks.
 
I'll be on for a while tonight to see if i can match lap times in the different chassis, I know I'm not the fastest but i should be able to get similar times in different cars.
 
does any one know how to get gt5 to recognise other peoples replays as i have all of last seasons replay and wanted to use them rather than the sp footage i will shorten the track sections and tweak some of the racing clips

I've got some replays you can get some good footage off mate. When i log on in the next hour i will get a good one for you to use, or just send you all the ones i have.

Edit - I've now got all 7 of the replays onto my memory stick nut the instructions i was following are vague.

Ok so we don't ruin the season 2 thread with debating i have a few questions -

I thought the long tracks were out of the running to be in the series, Or did i miss something? Regardless of whether or not people voted for them i thought i read a post saying long tracks like La Sarth and Nurb have straights to big for the power and speed of these cars plus they split the field leaving many racers on their own and bored.

Also why are regs still getting changed? Each reg change has a knock on effect to another car and might change peoples car choice. Most people agreed the Arta was to quick and 10kg weight instead of minus 10hp really does nothing to the car.
 
Because no one wants to race when its the car thats winning, and not the driver. The arta is still slower than the RX-7 by half a second around fuji. Testing Suzuka now.
 
because of these issues that i cant import us replays what about we create a drop box folder where eople can people or mainly stewards can put their file in their and that way i can accesses it or some one can access it
