lol, mess up one of the drivers? Sounds like the driver needs to regulate his friends :P

I dunno if this fits, but here goes

No, instead what it's for is for random people who enter the room to type in nonsensical messages inan attempt to mess up one of the drivers racing. People in room 1 know what I'm talking about. those people should be the ones who DIE :grumpy:

Yep, really annoying that was. At least he got bored of himself.

I can't stand pointlessness like that. People are that bored they have to type in 'hhhhhh...' and 'jajajaja....' that crap is for children with limited attention spans. I suggested we run the races in a private lounge before. And set the limit of racers to 10 or 12 depending on how many have qualified.

Sorry fellas, but I haven't been able to comment since my post would take using the cmputer to write everything down, so tonight ill finaly go over rooms 1 replay to see what it is everyone is talking about. I checked room 2 replay and other than 4 people taking turn 1 at the same time I didnt see anything to wrong, but I didn't check everyone's on board for the whole race to make sure they took the 1st turn & the last turn right. As of now its all opinion since I didn't receive a pm about a specific matter on track to be investegated which would be easy to do because I would have a reference point. An incident would have to be reported for us to take action, unless we can find it on reviewing replays. For now we should just focus on Nurburg, because once again there is a chicane that can be cut but we would need people to pm us the lap and driver and not to blast them on the planet because then we get these pages of back-lash.

@joe, are you going to be online in the next 15 minutes?

Naw doggie, I'm screwed for the next couple of events. I'm only racing DTM if there is a round this Saturday. Other than that I will be working on my FGT for your Indy 500 race. It looks like I'm going to miss JSTC this weekend. :thumbs down:

I am going to miss this weekend's race as well. Since a good few will seem to be absent, and being that it is a holiday weekend, maybe we should postpone it.

Sounds good. That's at least 3 so far that will miss the race. I'll push everything back a week.

Dates are now updated.

Looks like its being postponed,

so would I expect the lap times to be around the 1.58s for the fast guy's?

so.... 1.58s then? its early day's, I can in a perfect lap hit a 2 minute dead, hovering around the high 2.01s

I guess I will get some practice in for Nurburg this week starting with tonight then since we are going to post poned the race. 2 wks of practice means we'll be really fast here!

How do you guys judge your breaking point when in the draft? By myself I know where it is at all times even with long stints and tyre deg. When in the draft it's all fubar.

Also, another problem I'm having is dynamically adjusting my preferred racing line when cornering side by side with another driver. I suppose these kinds of things are just experience and racing with people that have an understanding.

Just practice and experience on the braking side. I know I banged into people alot early on when I started racing. It's better to brake too early and put on some throttle again, than to brake too late.

If I notice I missed my braking point I'll keep the throttle on overtake the guy infront then brake and run way wide. It stops collisions and only ruins 1 of your races.

Side by side, just find a mate who's as fast or quicker and have short races where you constantly overtake each other running side by side.

I'd be happy to help you I'm both of those areas

Cool cool... I'll be away from GT5 until next Monday due to the holiday. I'll hit you up on here or PSN.

I lift off and tap the brakes early when drafting then brake a fraction earlier, usually you slow down earlier to turn in, then give it some throttle to get my nose right in the lead cars behind if you time it right you can get a better run on the lead car,

I still can't do it right, either a fraction too early or too late. Practice helped alot though, just check your speed.

As you know braking is probably the most difficuilt aspect of racing and needs a lot of practice both in the game and in real life. I think the best way is to first set your braking point in normal conditions and then depending on the different situations (i.e. drafting, traffic) you should alter that braking point slightly.

One of the most important things in these kind of situations I think is to be able to modulate the brake very well and have a good sense of speed. Once you nail that down you should be able to adjust to any kind of situation. Another very important part is that we always have to remember the differences between racing and time trial and thus adapt our driving to the different circumstances.

With regards to different racing lines I think it is crucial to be able to look ahead as far as possible and be able to plan your way through traffic or when trying to make a pass.

All valid and common sense IRL, but in this game how do you know your grip/lock balance. I've taken off ABS and seem to feel the car more but it's really just a guess.

I'm thinking about tearing apart my dbox chairs and making a contraption.

I see what you mean but I guess thats why I have ABS on 1 in the game because of that feel. In real life I love no ABS.

I guess just like all things in life practice, practice.

First of all I hope your pedal has some pressure via a spring, makes it easier imo.
Second I just bleed off the pressure as I get close to the corner, you can check out my telemetery.
You can hear the wheels locking as well and sometimes the steering gets light if the rears lock.
Other than that, just practice.

Any car in the game handles better without abs its just if you can master it and risk the lock ups , its not for aggressive drivers

Yup I have bungie cords on both pedals. What is your preferred feedback amount for the wheel? I've got mine maxed out and sensitivity at 7.

Just started using no abs or tcs for fuji. I felt the car more and tuning all around was easier. seems like LSD settings mean nothing with any tcs or abs on.

My only issue is getting bumped under braking. You'll spin right around just like in proper racing physics... thats racing i guess, hehe.

What's sensitivity? I thought there was only FFB on the wheel. Sensitivity sounds like a controller thing.

It's harder to do with the DS3. I tried it but ABS works better with the DS3 for me. If I had money for a wheel and pedals I know I'd be a good deal quicker. It's harder to get power down with my sticky R2. Then turn in is good, but sometimes adjusting the amount of turn in is a chore.

I hear ya there Seth, I'm at the point where I can tell that I would be faster with a wheel when it comes to turn in at a corner. I prefer to enter 90 degree turns like Veloci where you ride on the rumble strips and than cut back for great corner speed but that movement can't be done with a ds3 (d-pad), unless your using analog sticks which I'm not using either. I have to pick a spot to jump on the brakes than turn in which ends up blocking/brake checking wheel drivers behind me that just throw the car into the turns. I refuse to buy a standard wheel when the csw is out so I'm in the middle of pieceing it together now. I have paddles and steering wheel (F1), but still need the base @ $450.00, and rig @ $400.00 bucks. I don't mind taking the time or spending the duo because I'll be racing the GT series for as long as I can imgaine, so one day it will be complete!
