Has anyone checked this game out yet? I remember it was suppost to come out August '04 but the game got cancelled or something. SRS and Juiced were the anticipated games and SRS turned out to be garbage. I have a feeling Juiced is too..

I want to. The reason it got cancelled first was because Acclaim had the license to publish it and then Acclaim went bankrupt. Then later on THQ picked it up.

I have not played it yet, will probably buy it in the next few weeks.

According to Game Informer (which gave it a 7.5, and from which im summarizing these comments) it has more of a simulation feel to it than any other street racing game, but blurs the line between simulation and arcade for the sake of fun. betting and pink slip races are a plus. commanding your crew of racers isnt really THAT cool, tracks get repetitive over time, graphics arent exactly up to par with what xbox is really capable of. much better than the previous build of the game though.

They do mention that its definately a fun game. More sim than NFSU2, yes please, ill take that. Plus I just got XBL not too long ago I need another racing game to take online.

ok i've played it but only on ps2, my best mate has it - it already has other threads but i think they only slate the game, personally i think it is amazing it came out in the uk last friday, it hasnt had great reviews but i guess you have to play it yourself to decide upon it, i thought the whole idea was great - i hated Midnight club 3 dub edition thought the graphics were bollo*ks on the ps2! in juiced you can race for pink slips once you have collected enough respect points, whether it be on x-box live or in game characters i really like the game.

ok, I got the game now. Its fun, it kept me up real late last night just checkin out the various features I didnt look at a few days ago.

Im not sure what the deal is with the handling of the cars, it takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it its generally fairly easy to beat the AI cars.

The betting and pink slips are great ideas, great ways to make money fast in the game if you can back it up with your L337 racing skillz. I won alot of money last night, and then lost it all, and then won it all back, and sold my CRX to get an S2000 :)

If you love any and all racing games then get this one, its worth it. (I like SRS, AutoModellista, U2, GT Series, Forza, Driv3r, etc....) If youre not sure rent it and give it a few nights to see if you like it. I can see why so many people thought it sucked after playing for only an hour.

Yeah, I think I'll just rent it sometime. I really didn't like SRS. It was fun for the first few nights playing with a bunch of people online, but eventually got really boring. Personally, I annoyed if games have some sort of cheese factor. Not that I dont like girls, but the girlfriend video tape thing was kinda cheesy lol.

Do you find the tracks in Juiced repetitive?

well there are about 5 or 6 different parts of the city that the tracks take place in, I have only raced in maybe 2 or 3 of them but there seems to be quite a bit of variety. lets just say there are more tracks than I thought there would be, there is a decent amount of variety, and they look good.

Im still debating how the car physics stack up against other arcade street racer games. there are some elements that make you think, "ok, this is more realistic than the others", then later on something will happen that will make you think, "ok, that was completely ridiculous I hate these physics." If anything I think its probably closest to SRS, I should get out that game and compare.

Judging by what I hear, I don't think I'll like the physics. Not that I'm a sim freak, its just i thought the physics in NFSU and SRS were kinda crappy. Don't get me wrong, I love PGR2 as its one of my favorite racing games. I still think it's one of the greatest games on Xbox and holds the title of best Xbox Live Game EVER! ;) Then again, I'll only know if I like Juiced or not until I try it out.

Finally!
Someone else on this board that likes the games I do even though reviewers and others don't like it.

To me, if its got real licensed cars, and its racing, I have to give it a go.
I played the newest Juiced demo just now (Skyline R34), and I like it. The only thing I need to learn is when to actually brake and how fast I can take the turn.

In this demo, you can buy pretty much everything at 1st that's available. I constantly replayed the demo just to see different modding combos, and it looks great being able to recreate the Veilside Skyline.

I have taking a liking to this, and will definately give this game a rent!
After Enthusia though, unless....

Well, out of the 2, if one isn't there, I'll get the other.

I rented the game it has good features n so on but the physics are anything but realisitic.
Yeah, as it turns out, I never could get used to them. As a result, this game made my "trade-in" list when I had to replace my dead Xbox. Good thing the game was still relatively new so I still got some decent money back for it.

The graphics and upgrade parts looked great, the gameplay just couldnt back it up and the voice-overs were atrocious.

So its back to MC3 for me lately :)

To be honest, I haven't played the full version yet, but I've played the most recent demo, and the physics blow. The way the cars move is so goofy and wrong... :odd:

I've also played the old, old demo, before the game was almost killed off...that version was so much more fun... :(
