I've been waiting for a sequel for a looong time! I thought the first game was excellent. Hopefully the new one will deliver.

He still wont shut up about it, the demo has come out on the EU PSN, not sure about US yet but it is 1.4gig. I cant download it till the download rolls over on the 12th (next weekend) as we have about 4 gig left :/.

I dl the demo yesterday, and played a quarter hour (demo is limited to 30 min). It's cool, like the openworld. graphics of the landscape are amazing.

Only thingy is i road in a review that the missions are everytime the same and therefor the game (mission wise) becomes pretty fast boring.

I hope you can play again with other accounts (another 30min) 'cause the demo is 35km2. There is a lot to visit.

But as far a i played it, i like it

The demo is 50km2 (35m2) I think, 1/20 of the real size apparently. You can play the 30 mns over and over , you just get reset each time, new stuff to blow up .

Glad someone made a thread on this, I never played the first one but this is pretty cool. It's like a more interesting version of Mercenaries 2. Been mucking around in the tanks and helicopters quite a bit which is fun. Oh and the plane too It's cool how you can use the grapple hook to grab objects and then attach it to the car/plane/helicopter/whatever and then drag them around. Seems quite good.

Why does this have a PS3 tag? It's coming out for all systems as far as I know.

I downloaded the PC demo last night off of Steam, it's alright. I wasn't much on the first one though for whatever reason. I'm going to give the demo a few more tries though to see how if I do end up liking it.

EDIT: I am looking at ways I can afford to get this, I will have a job past mid year and am going overseas mid year. I could get it overseas but I dont want to wait that long, I might try and sell modern warfare 2 and look at ebay after just cause 2 has come out for some cheaper ones.

To be fair, you could quite easily say that about Battlefield Bad Company 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Race Driver Grid, Colin McRae Dirt 2...the list goes on. They all have the "PS3" tags too.

And I'm still finding this game fun, I'm not whether it's good enough to buy but judging by the amount of time my brother has been on it I guess he might buy it. It still to me just seems like a more flexible/better version of Mercenaries 2.

They shouldn't, for some reason I find that annoying.

They have the tags because when there were no tags the more popular threads were in the PS3 section. Call Of Duty 4 was in there and everyone who played it on any console posted in there. Same goes for Modern Warfare 2, all consoles post in there, you might say, why not get rid of the tag now? Well I cant really because I bet most of the people click on the PS3 section and they wont see the thread :/.

Myself included, I think (as this is a GT forum) people just placed things into the PS3 section instinctively as thats the console they own. Then the PS3 section had all the big multi-platform games in it, and the trend just continued. I to at first wondered why they were only in the PS3 section, but it's only a niggle it makes little to no difference in the scheme of things.

As for JC2, I've yet to download the demo (thanks Battlefield) but I never really got into the first one either. I always find if a game encourages you to be silly and over the top it feels less satisfying then when you're not supposed to do it but you end up doing it anyway. Although moreso with open world games, if I'm supposed to blow everything up, I don't find great satisfaction doing it unless it's very well done, but if I'm NOT supposed to do it (but I can still do it) it's much more amusing and entertaining. I'll still try it at some point, but I'm not hyped about it at all and with my newly acquired Bad Company 2, I just don't need anything else to do right now.

I never played Just Cause one, and wasn't going to bother with the sequel, but then I played the demo of Just Cause 2 at a friends house last night. Go download it.

Seriously - it's not super polished, the physics are kind of stupid, the actual gunplay leaves much to be desired, but it doesn't matter because the game just feels awesome. Everything you do feels like it's ripped out of a Michael Bay movie (this is a good thing). You can basejump off of cliffs and you have unlimited parachutes??? (it makes sense when you're playing). Actually, the parachuting is a lot like MDK if anyone remembers that. Oh, and you have a dedicated grappling hook, so it doesn't take forever to get places.

Hijacking cars is fun. Climbing on top of your driver-less car to shoot at the cops chasing you while you careen off a cliff, only to jump off at the last second and parachute to safety while your car, and the chasers, explode underneath you is better.

I've just been playing the demo over at a friends house, sorta fun. Gunplay, like others have mentioned is silly but when you get to the Helicopters and jump right out, it's sick. I love having unlimited parachutes too, pull them out off cars is such fun when your being chased.

The demo was quite fun for a couple of hours (glitch *cough cough*), and it doesn't take itself that seriously which is a good thing.

But there's just not enough atmosphere for me - graphically it's smooth but not really outstanding.

Blowing things up in a lot of different ways has some initial appeal, but one which doesn't last.

EDIT:
Ok installed and tryed a bit. Need to say that it´s a big polish over the demo at least for the pc. Visit the mile high club. I laught soo hard on this one. Already killed 3 helis, fly with a jet,.... so amaying freaking cool.

And the best : it´s running flawless , unlike GTA which was a bitch, even with my high spec pc it would crash after 20 min ( video memory full) Crazy....

And the island is really BIG. Even with the jet it´s a long way from 1 point to the opposite on the map.

Kick ass until now, just hope missions donßt get boring

Played the intro mission and the first mission of the Ulars yesterday. The Ulars mission was so funny; I was defending the Ulars technician and while I was gunning down waves of government troops, the Ulars all chanted in choir 'Scor-pee-ooo, Scor-pee-ooo'! Hilarious stuff.

I been playing for a couple of days now and I love it, have any of you guys jacked one of the kick arse fighter planes.

There is one that looks like a harrier but the one I got was huge and it looked like the plane out of Firefox. It kicks arse.

Also the Island at the top left of the map is the Island from Lost, your plane automatically blows up above it and when your on the island its exactly the same as the show.

The hatch is even hidden somewhere its on you tube.
