You guys hear the horrid revue X Play gave this game.......2/5. They said there weren't enough tracks, only 2 cars per race, and the cars drove like they had two flat tires.

I think Adam just got frustrated trying to figure out how to drift and gave up before beating it. haha.

I say for a 2k3 game it's def worth atleast a 3/5.

I give this game a 3.5/5 IMO, It's extremely fun to play and contrary to what the reviewers think, the physics are excellent. I still can't figure out why they dislike the handiling so much? I love it!

I think it's because people don't understand that IT'S F'ING HARD TO CONTROL A REAL CAR ON THE EDGE!!!

Ever played NFS Underground?? The drift physics are perfect. It's like Enthusia's physics with just more grip. They still feel 100% realistic. But everybody HATED them. UG2's drift physics are terrible. They're gay, unrealistic, the cars behave nothing like anything with a motor and rubber tires and everybody LOVED them.

The problem is the majority of people know nothing about driving a real car on the edge, or care for that mater and have no clue as to how they should handle, so Easier and more retarded = better to them. Thus, Enthu, TXR: Drift, NR2k3 Season, RBR, all become unpopular games that are rare and hard to find and don't get made very often, and unrealistic ricer crap like Midnight club and EA Nascar Thunder get bought up like hotcakes and become very popular and alot of them get made.

I wish there were more driving enthusiasts and more people who know how a car handles in generall. NFS UG proves that even EA is capable of a realistic physics engine, but realism doesn't sell, ricer crap does. EA know's this.

Check it out, almost everything you need.

Dude, I totally need to thank you for that link. I've just spent the last three hours trying every single google search I could possibly think of to find the opening themes from the Kaido games, not to mention looking for them periodically for the past few years, since the first game came out. Oddly, nothing turned that site up at all. So I finally pretty much give up, start browsing GTP to see what's new, and there it is!

Quite right, but I wouldn't say that TXR:D/Kaido Battle is particularly realistic... :indiff:

You also forgot to include GT4 in the "games that appeal to the masses"... ;)

I just bought the game. The braking is more realistic than GT4 in that game!

If I could throw money on a 360, why not getting that game.

Must. Resist. Urge. To cry.

I agree whole-heartedly with what you said about UG2's drifting physics. However, I sure didn't notice a difference between UG and UG2. The drift physics are perfect? Are you serious? The cars handle as if they were driving on ice with wheels made of soap! Not to mention the fact that the entire car pivots around the absolute center of the vehicle, as if the car is capable of making zero degree turns. Now, I can't say I've had the oppurtunity to actually drift anything outside of gaming, but you can't honestly expect me to believe that the physics in the UG series are realistic. I mean come on, all you have to do is pull the e-brake and hold down a direction. You didn't need to worry about countersteer or throttle control. Just hold down the accellerator, press the sidebrake button, and flop your analog stick left to right. There has GOT to be more to real-life drifting than that. I cna honestly say that it was VERY rare that I ever spun out, no matter what or how fast I was driving. You literally had to TRY to spin out.

On a different note, I REALLY want to use my Mad Catz MC2 with this game, but I can't seem to get it to recognize my pedals. Anyone know if it's possible?

It recognizes mine just fine. I use the MC2 for shifting only though......so IDK about the pedals working.

And you must have stability control on in UG or something because I can spin out on the drop of a hat if I'm not perfectly careful about my throttle control.

And I use that drift mode in every mode cheat and the cars behave alot more realistically on the circuit tracks with drift mode. The only real problem I find is too much grip. Like my corner speeds are too high and it's a little bit tough to get wheelspin. But the car behavior seems very true to life to me. And I drift my 240sx for hours on end every time it rains. I take laps around hamilton place mall (perimiter drive) and go up and down signal mountain blvd a few times. I've only spun that car once...ever. And that was because my thumb slipped off the e-brake handle and it got stuck up...kinda scary...that's why I put on the drift button the next day.

Nope. ASC off. And this is with an MC2 on the Xbox. To make it a little harder, I even swore off the e-brake and only did power-over. I felt like an idiot holding down the gas pedal and turning my wheel left to right without really putting any effort into it. The only - emphasis here - time that I had to control my throttle was the split-second before a hairpin. If that's any indication of how real-life drifting in an RX-7 is, well, I must be the next Tsuuchiya. :indiff:

Edit: Also, I'm talking about normal drift events. I realize now the discussion was probably based around the mountain drifting in UG2. In that case, yes, I did have to watch my throttle and countersteer, and I have indeed spun quite a few times.

But that's for another thread. Sorry for the hijack.

ANYWAY, I just unlocked Haruna. Finally got my pedals to work. Anyone using the MC2, you have to program the pedals every time you turn the game on. I totally forgot about that function. I'm currently running a yellow loaded stage 2 EvoIII and in the works are a silver Cappucino and Blue EG6 Civic for FF and Kei races. Money is hella easy to earn in this game. I just can't wait to unlock my darn FD.

Nice run Mr. Deap. You really need to learn how to run a motor out. You were shifting so early lol.

BTW, I like that site.

The car really run at 6500RPM. It seem early, but that's the rev line.. It's a run I made in Time Attack. It's not tuned.

Ahh. I'm trying to get my MC2 to calm down. It's so crazy. It can turn like mad on a straight, but try to get it to toss my EvoIII into a corner and it's all over. :indiff:

.star.
The Fujitsubo Evo is killing me lol

Yeah he's an *SS. Tip for beating it, Fujitsubo is slower in snow, take advantage of that 👍.

Edit: I suck using DFP on TXRD, i used my DFP + MC2 method and the transmission on the mc2 sometimes wont work T_T.

OMG HOW DO I GET IT

My PS2 crapped out on me. Now whenever I try to load up night races it just freezes. Spectacular. :indiff:

To get that car, you have to beat all 200 rivals. just pops up at the car dealer. :)

This is out of topic, but do stores still sell multitap (multiplayer plug) 30000 series??? cuz all i can find is 70000 Series (and i bought one not knowing my ps2 is 30000). T_____T must refund this

thanks for the tip. finally beat that damn evo and opened up iroha A. man that course really takes some getting used to lol

Playing that game is sure entertaining. I get rammed by the CPU most of the times.

The graphic are really nice for that kind of game, but the engine & the CPU need a lot of work.

Though I really like the mountain road for sure. It work my mind up for future online games & passing tactic. Be sure to watch out the battle between the S2000 & the AE86 in ID 4th stage. There's a lot of thing to learn from that race. It is possible to outsync someone in multiple turns.

Anyone think that we could get our own folder up there next to the need for speed and grand theft auto?
It could be a TXR folder. Theres already a wanderer list and txr 3 thread that would fit nicely in there.

I would just like a place other than this thread we could dedicate to settings..ETC.

TXRD is not big enough for the moment in my opinion.(Mostly when most rival don't actualy race, but ram you.)

Though, all the info in the first post would be great though.:)

got to beat the story part tonight :) thanks to all who helped with random tips. i still have quite a few "wanderers" to get to though.
