Who is to blame for the farce that is GT Academy? Answer PD!

Sorry but PD are naive and inexperienced which is why GT5 is 10yrs behind the times. These days if your going to run a competition and have leaderboards then you need some kind of penalty system to prevent corner cutting, wallbashing and this penalty system needs to be throughly tested on all tracks. Now corner cutting, wallbashing isn't anything new because this occured on GT5P but unfortunately PD failed to learn from this.

I can't stand when people like yourself come on here and tell people to stop moaning. I purchased a G25/Wheelstand Pro/PS3 specfically for GT5 and yet 3 months from release my only options are grinding or racing online. The enjoyment I get from racing games is hotlapping and even without these seasonal updates it was farcical that GT5 didn't have leaderboards. Now these seasonal events haven't been updated im only left with 2 time trial leaderboards. This is pathetic in this day and age of video gaming.

K.Y has already said leaderboards and matchmaking are all planned for the future, be patient you little troll.

And lol @ the people who want a date for these next seasonals? Look what happens when the guy does give you an approximate date, you get your knickers all in a twist when he is a couple of days late.

I've come to realize why there is such a lack of respect and maturity in here. It seems that the rational people took a look, facepalmed, and left. Which is probably what I should have done instead of trying to rationalize with, and enlighten, people so bitter and jaded that their minds are closed off to everything other than "Burn PD! Fire Kaz! I'm never buying another GT game again!" until 6 is announced and they'll be the first ones here stating their anticipation and talking about their pre-orders.

I think they are probably just taking a break for Chinese New Year / Spring Festival. Japan celebrates NYE with the Chinese. Have a happy Year of the Rabbit everyone!
 
In NZ today is Waitangi day which i have off i was planning to do the nurburg 4 hour event today but that is based on doing the seasonals which would have put me on level 32 cause grinding from level 30 to 32 takes forever without the seasonals and that is why not delivering the seasonals was the final nail in the coffin for me, only 4 more days and gt5 will collect dust, occasionally play the game to see if seasonals are back up, but atari will get my attention from the 10th with tdu2 which is rated higher than gt5 wonder why?

i have been grinding on level 31 for two weeks now, looking forward to spending my two days off doing nurburg 4 hour and seasonals would have got there, can't they have got there sony friends to update aren't they really part of sony anyways so they could have there holiday and we could have the seasonals everyone wins. This level system is soo stupid having to race the same event hundreds of times to level up gets tedious having the seasonals helped get thru levels a bit faster if they were up i would still be getting tdu 2 but would play gt5 a little more than i plan to. I wasted $330 dollars on a game that was mean't to be better than gt4 but is not. Im sorry but i have had more issues with this game than this one this is just the one that has made me lose interest in gt5 altogether i won't sell it because i spent to much money on it.

I totally disagree. You have to let your customers know when to expect things and you need to stick to the dates you provide.

And what's so hard about setting up these seasonal events anyway? You could let some intern update them. I would be surprised if takes a whole day to create single seasonal event.

1. They should have enough seasonal events ready to act as a buffer for possible delays.

2. If they are delayed they should announce that and let people know when to expect the event.

This is impossible to defend.

Fanboy is a word I used to think was kind of cliche. So contrived and overused that it really didn't have a meaning. But I've changed my mind. It is the sickness that is destroying video gaming, or atleast destroys any rational conversations about the pro's AND cons of any game. Too many kids out there willing to go to war if someone dares to have a complaint about their favorite little toys. Sad thing is, it's usually the biggest fanboys doing the biggest trolling in any thread. Nothing of any substance gets posted, just attacks on people with complaints, and ironic "moaning" that someone else is "moaning".

PD deserves every bit of criticism they get. The same as any other company that over-promises and under-delivers on any product. I often wonder how I could train my customers to be video game fanboys so I could sell them on a premium product, deliver a old washed off dusty box, and not only have them love it, but defend me from anyone who might have a complaint.

The people that don't care about the updates, or lack of news posted by PD about them have no reason to open the thread to begin with other than to flame people while defending their precious toy.
 
The main issue, as has been covered before, is that PD promised all of the things people are complaining about. They touted their game as the racing game to end all racing games; a world beating, beautifully realistic simulator capable of anything that was thrown at it. The people defending PD must admit this, the forums and posts before release are evidence of the lies PD fed everyone.

I was disappointed. I paid the 40 odd quid I earned for that game, and I finished it in a month. I don't have a lot of free time either. As a fanatical follower (and defender) of the series since its birth almost 15 years ago I feel let down and annoyed at the arrogance displayed not only in delays but in broken promises.

If PD had come out and said "You know what guys, we're going to make a game with marginally better graphics than Forza 3 with less content than GT1 and a physics system like GTA: London", people wouldn't be as annoyed. Instead they promised the greatest, and delivered a mediocre product.

You aren't Turn 10. We expected better, and you promised better. It's still beyond me how you thought modelling a Prius was more important than making the Minolta or the Audi RS4 look good. Or how you thought a game lasting a few days till everything was done was a fitting installment to a game series where most people couldn't get past 50 percent completion in 2 years of play.
 
Really, are all of you SERIOUS??? The way that some of you are crying about this thread and a few others that are now deleted or closed is nothing short of pathetic! STOP your crying, sobbing, bitching, moaning, criticisms and general Ignorance! They will be up as soon as they are ready to be up. I don't think that I am alone by saying that I am grateful for the Seasonal Events and I am not bothered at all if PD wants to take their sweet-ass time to put them up. Im sure that there is good reason for this, but until they let us know what is going on, why speculate and criticize them? Anybody ever think that maybe they're not released yet because maybe they aren't ready or up to standard? Just be patient, the damned Seasonals weren't even launched with the game. We should feel damn lucky that we even got such features. end of rant.....

The Bluray discs themselves cost Sony $20 to publish, add to that 5 years of R&D on this game, server costs, and licensing fees, and they probably make only about $10 on every copy sold.

Just wanted to maybe make people think that just because Seasonal Events 7 didn't come out like they said it would isn't the end of the world. Maybe everyone could use a little break! 💡

This however is true. 90% of these protesters will go out and buy GT6 on day 1. As for me, once bitten, twice shy. In fact, I should have learnt my lesson when I played GT4 on my PS3 a couple of years back. But as the idiot that I am, I still bought the GT5 and PS3 hype and bought this damned game day 1.

Why don't you understand that that's not what half of them are complaining about. If you look at the thread title, you would get a clue. It's because, we get a lame, vague, short, indifferent explanation from Yamauchi. Does it sound familiar? Yes because you and all of us have been hearing it for the last 5 years.
 
looking through this thread you'd think that GT5 is the worst thing in all of human existence and everyone in PD are the most pathetic excuses for human beings ever (not that I think that :sly: I've been coping perfectly fine with the lack of Seasonal Events by watching online races saving the replay and today going through them and taking pictures :D)

Take your own advice. PD and Kaz deserve every bit of criticism they get for lying to their customers. I like GT5, but don't appreciate getting flat out lied to by PD and Kaz repeatedly. It's not that big of a deal and my life won't end because of anything they do or don't do. If people feel the need to vent their frustrations toward PD and Kaz because of legitimate gripes, who are you to tell them to stop? Nobody, that's who. If you don't like it, don't read their posts.

Flat out lied to ? Anything to back that up or you always just wildly throw around whatever pops in your head ?

Criticism good and bad is needed for anything to improve.

But to just throw around silly schoolboy accusations like " I've been flat out lied to " you would wanna have at least ONE example? You could join the march of people that are walking to pd's office's to burn anything GT5 related if you feel that cheated on ...

I shall give you some examples of how I feel PD have lied.

After playing GT5P I went out and purchased a G25/Wheelstand Pro. Now I did this because after playing Prologue as I was expecting the same with GT5 but on a bigger scale. Now I think this is a fair statement because Prologue is supposed to be a teaser of whats to come.

So with the above in mind how come some of the better features in GT5P are absent in GT5? For example the performance points went AWOL, where are the stock time trial leaderboards on GT5 that were in GT5P? What happened to the matchmaking servers? these were excellent because you simply selected the online race you wanted to enter and away you go with minimum fuss.

I don't care what anyone else says because the fact of the matter is GT5 being released with no leaderboards is absolutely pathetic these days.

They've lied about a lot over the years.. weekly seasonal events being a very small one. The point of my post was that Love4Heineken has no business telling others to stop complaining about PD. They ask for the criticism with their actions.
