Yeah fair point and i knew that was coming, but it is my understanding that the notice said " We are expecting to update the seasonals weekly + - 1day "

I never read anything that said, " I promise to give you 5 seasonal events,weekly, every week, on time every time without fail "
That would be a flat out lie.
The other would be a statement that he hasn't managed to deliver exactly on time for whatever reason, who knows what's planned .

I personally like the suprise element of it all, but i can see why some need to be told an exact date and exactly what's coming (god forbid you get an extra event you weren't told about beforehand).
The problems with exact dates is .. well this thread.

IVORBIGGUNZ - So with the above in mind how come some of the better features in GT5P are absent in GT5? For example the performance points went AWOL, where are the stock time trial leaderboards on GT5 that were in GT5P? What happened to the matchmaking servers? these were excellent because you simply selected the online race you wanted to enter and away you go with minimum fuss.

Can't answer the performance points as i only ever hired prologue and didn't play much so i don't know what exactly what these are.
Stock time trial leaderboards are planned for the future as has been pointed out MANY MANY times, ( see EUROGAMER interviews with Kazunori San )
Matchmaking - AGAIN, already been said that it's planned for the future in the very same interview. Does nobody read ?

Hmm this is one i agree with you slightly on, yes i feel it should have been released with fully functional leaderboards + matchmaking. But knowing they are coming in future then i will be patient and wait.
This generation where you can "hire purchase" something completely out of financial reach and have it RIGHT NOW, has bred this ugly trait to have everything immediately right away,when and where we want it . ( I'm not excluded in this as i suffer the same trait at times), merely pointing it out.

I digress ever so slightly, The other problem with leaderboards at the moment is the penalty system, as it stands now the top 250 can just take shortcuts and defeat the purpose of leaderboards eg. GT Academy,having to change the track twice now. I for one want the penalty system fixed when leaderboards are introduced.

I don't just have a whinge about the penalty system, i have idea's on how to remedy it but this thread isn't for that discussion.

They've lied about a lot over the years.. weekly seasonal events being a very small one. The point of my post was that Love4Heineken has no business telling others to stop complaining about PD. They ask for the criticism with their actions.

Could the next one be rally biased, or even have a rally stage in it? Its just I noticed a lot of rally cars for sale in the obline collectors dealership!

Judging by their reputation, the next one, if there is any, is not going to be anything special.

Huh? That doesn't even make sense. I'm done with this.. not getting sucked into flame war debate/argument. I made my point.

Let's just hope PD keeps making GT5 better. I'll believe it when I see it though, not when they announce something.
 
They are busy working on GT6, it comes out next week ;)

Given PDs general lateness / half finished work this delay shouldnt shock anyone, however as others mentioned, just last week they committed to a schedule. Thats were the frustration comes from. Also what is the point of having an online GTnews section if its not updated with info regarding the delay? As usual lack of communication on PDs part. If I did this crap at my job I'd be fired.

I hope thats a joke cos there really is no need for a new gt game! GT5 is great as it is (stop whining about it guys or go pick up your DS!), still loads to do in it yet!

If they do "A" is wrong and they suck, if they do "B" they are liers and suck, one thing is criticism and another one is cry-bitch-complain about everything claiming a "lack of costumer service", common if kaz by himself spend a part of his time listening (or reading) to his consumers directly via twitter then I don't know what do yo want about that "costumer service" ( knowing how the GTPlanet community works maybe than kaz and translator san go door to door asking for what's wrong with GT5)
 
I have paid $50 for a lot of games that have sucked or have little replay ability. It is hilarious reading all the haters of PD over $50. If you don't like it, sell the game and move on.

im okay with gt5
the bitching just makes me as a gt lover feel better Because of all the problems this version has
& now this "little break"
im sure its not that hard or time taking to post these seasonal events


i have a theory too..
the first 6 seasonal events were involved in the last update we got ...
now we know they wanted to release another update for early feb. so i think the rest of the seasonal events after that..
im not really sure i dont know anything about these kinda stuff.. this is just what i think:crazy:
 
Well I had my fun with the game. Pretty much beat the whole thing if you ask me. Seasonal were the only thing that kept me going, minus an online racing league. But other then that, I've had my fun, appreciated it for what it is, and now soon to move on to most likely killzone 3.
 
I have a theory:

Everyone was complaining how seasonals would give you too much xp and 'noobs' could get to level 30 in 2 weeks.

Maybe they just want to run 1 set of seasonal events at a time, so its not overkill on xp
 
Then why did they state only a few days ago that the seasonals will be updated weekly, and that there will be extra events on top of that?
 
Anyone been on GT5 today? GT Academy Rnd 2 canceled. .......they go on to discuss more and speak of a Valentines day up date, that must mean PD does love us.

Anyway, as much as I was anticipating the Season 7 events, I can respect the focus on GT Academy. Lets hope the new update that is mentioned bring more exciting things.


As well, those cheaters, basically ruined the GT Academy. Since they chose to short cut, we the other users suffer from set backs that require attention caused by the cheaters.

Anyway, hang tight. Do an endurance race! That will really get your fix. hahahaha
 
I'm not a hater, as i brought the signature edition, i just want a bit of variety grinding away on the same race day in day out gets tedious and boring especially when i have done most of level 31 need 200,000xp either do the rome circuit another 50 to 100 times, seasonals would have brought me closer to 32 if not there. The reason for moving to tdu 2 i'm bored of this game the grinding has made bored of this game, and tdu 2 is offering way more than gt5 open world racing with lots of races more than gt5 and your cars are more customizable than ever in the game can't get bored of that and i bet you don't have to grind the same race over and over just to get somewhere. I still love GT5 all i say i either bring back seasonals NOW not tommorrow NOW or fix the xp system so we don't have spend weeks racing the same track just to get to the next level.

But most people here bought a PS3 and a wheel (plus the game) just to play it - its over $500 - if you sell it all you loose a lot of money
 
i just dont see whats so hard in saying
" we are working on a new update and GT DriverClub"
or what ever else it is that they are actually doing
why do they just leave us in the dark ?

if they would inform us more i wouldnt even be getting grumpy about the delay

only treason i can think of .. they are actually taking a break lol

Sure I have a couple of gripes about some things that are present or missing from the game but I won't throw out insults over it. I've never developed a game before so I really don't have any sort of opinion that matters in the PD realm. I just sit back and enjoy what I paid for with the little time I have between work and family.

Edit: Manufacture races were awesome.
 
Serious point:

Only 1 Seasonal set of events remains open. This might mean they are working on a larger update. And isn't Update 1.07 rumoured?
 
The real "freaking out" will come this Thursday, when the current Seasonal 6 ends, and there are none open at all. ;)

yea if they brought back the dealership races that would be toooo good lol
i loved that in GT5P
plus it would add like 20+ races
