so, they are just lazy and taking a break?

oh well, i can wait :)

Wouldn't call them Lazy everyone deserves a break sometime fair plays I say. They've earned a break

I wish everyone on this forum that's bitching about it would open a window or door and go outside there's more to life than bitching about a seasonal event update 👍 If fresh air's not your thing play a different game. *rolleyes*

I more and more have the feeling that Kaz is also the owner of Fanatec.
At least their way of communicating is the same. They say a lot but no one can figure out in what order they have to put the characters

For him status they have a little break: Give the man his break, get a life, stop wining or create a custum track in GT5 and give yourself a medal when you win. Now whe complain, if we suddenly get 25 new premium cars (instead of a seasonal in time) he suddenly is god again....

People are the same all over the world... Off to watch a movie (YES INDEED, you can do other things with your life instead of waiting for a new seasonal)

I think they were too busy firing all the landscapers they have on staff.:)

now that the grass at indy has been cut................

if it comes...... yay!

if it doesn't.......meh

I think it's great we got the seasonal events at all. The only thing I've heard complaints wise is relating to the the randomness of PD. I'm glad you're making sense of the news section because I sure as hell can't work it out.

PD News- No announcement- Seasonal events arrive every week. Announcement- Seasonal events will be updated every week +/- 24 hrs- No events arrive in that time frame. As I said, forgive me for being confused, obviously you understand perfectly.

Anyway, I've got better things to do than hang out for someone at PD to decide to update a game. Maybe they've gone on a break in order to learn half decent communication skills.

You are dead on. There communication is atrocious. Some posters still try to defend it and usually end up looking less then smart when doing so. It's a real shame that I am actually less confused when I DON'T read their announcements. How can that possibly be construed as proper communication.

Well, this delay is an excelent reason for thousands of new posts... Instead of kicking the wheel, or throwing out the DS3 when you lose that tough race, you can open GTPlanet and complain.

Sent using GTPlanet for Ipad. fantastic work Jordan!

Sorry for being pessimistic, but I think GT will disappoint us once again, don't expect big news for the future, not much of what we wish for will be satisfied.
I'm trying to save money and buy some other game, cause GT5 is starting to be boring and pointless, after just 2 months and a half. Is starting to be like "hey, let's have a round on the 'ring just for fun" and then switch to some other bluray. I got Dirt2 recently, I know it's old, but it's plenty of events and is sooo much fun.

Signed,
Tired to wait for Kaz

And the funny thing is everyone that is wining about new seasonals because they have to reach level xx is so busy complaining.....They could have leveled up 2-3 time in the time they complained and bought 10+ new cars

he is on my litle black book , i dont like ppl that promisse and dont deliver, and test drive unlimited 2 almost out there.

Dirt 3 is out in May. Shift 2 is about to go Gold, TU2 will hopefully be better than the first, My real car has a terrible wheel alignment, I suddenly drive too aggressive lately, I wonder what impact this will have on GT5.

I think Kaz meant that events 7 are 90% done and they could release them at any time. Which means for us that we could see them anytime from tomorrow to 5 years from now. LOL!

Sorry, you are joking, right?

Anyway. Why are you all so surprised? It's not out of the ordinary. And plus, wouldn't you be pissed off if Kaz's assistant at PD called and said 'yeeeeeeah, we're gonna need you to work Setsubun'. Maybe the cars were an automatic update and the races hand updated? Doesn't make sense, but what does make sense with PD?

You started planning your evening around a seasonal event arriving? What did your friends think of this? Did you plan 6 years or so of waiting for a game to arrive?

The most "interesting" thing for me (and apparently others) is the sequence of events:
1) The seasonal events were updated periodically and somewhat randomly, and I don't think anyone was complaining.
2) PD announces that the SE will be updated every Wedenesday at a specific time (+/- 1 day).
3) Immediately following this announcement, they are late with the next SE update (late according to their own Wednesday schedule).

As far as I am aware, nobody asked for a specific date or regular schedule for the SE updates, so I really don't know why they would have made such an announcement and put themselves under a perceived deadline, especially amidst the new Driver's Club (?) and another main game update. Seems weird. Oh well. I have a frisbee begging to be thrown...

If PD was a restaurant, and the the only thing on the menu is a big, juicy steak (GT5) ((advertised in the menu as extra spicy seasoned but afterwards it's clearly the steak wasn't seasoned at all)). You wouldn't get your vegetables, fries (Updates/Seasonal Events) etc. right away, but those would be added step by step. That restaurant would close up shop pretty fast I think. Inconsistency is bad, the steak is still good but will become boring when eaten every single day..

Sorry, you are joking, right?

That's what I was thinking when I read their post, I also did this .

Personally I think people need to chill out, it's the first time they have been late and so what if they are. Yes I do know about the schedule in the ingame news but it's an oh well response rather than a complaining one for me. It's not the end of the world people.

From Twitter in response to the question on when the #7 events will be up.

ちょっと一休み。(A Little Break) RT @anthonyputson: @Kaz_Yamauchi Kaz, will the new seasonal events be up soon?

What "A little break" means is anyones guess.[/QUOTE]

Enough for a bathroom break? :dopey:

They said Thursday +/- 1 day.
They also said that it would be updated at 10 AM, but that was a typo, so it should be 10 PM.
So the latest time would be Friday, 10 PM.

Always astounded at what they have created... a game that people actually get disappointed with. It approaches the level of sports fanatics.

Great stuff!

Chotto yasumi could mean a day, could be weeks.

Why wont PD ever properly communicate with their userbase?... Everyone is wondering what is going on and they just come out and state the obvious.

Well, if you guys look at the NEWS section on GT5, they just updated saying they are changing tracks for the ACADEMY once again cause us americans can't race clean. I guess you can thank the boys in the GT ACADEMY for making PD work more on that and not the events. Just some food for thought.

To me this is exactly the issue. They really didn't have to say anything. To go along for 4 weeks with no announcement then to make an announcement right before they are put on hold makes no sense at all. I'm wondering if the communication department is 4 weeks behind on their announcements. That would make perfect sense. Maybe we'll get an announcement in 4 weeks that new seasonal events have been put on hold for 1-2 weeks while PD is working on something else. By that time a new update will have been out for 2.5 weeks and we will have had Driver's club for for 2.5 weeks. About 2 weeks after that we'll get an announcement that Driver's club events will be updated every X days or weeks and 2 weeks later they will stop. Then an announcement will follow that Driver's club will be suspended for something else.

It's actually quite comical.

But PD never promised that they'd be releasing seasonal events every week. In fact, there's been zero guaruntee of any seasonal events. The update simply said that they'd be arriving at 7am PST from now on. Didn't say when. And, as for the events, they have a start date and a closing date. There is no promise that there'd be another seasonal even to replace it. Maybe they're just going to do one round at a time instead of two.

I assume "a little break" means that we won't be getting a seasonal event this week.

Also, it's a bit ironic that you said you hate people that don't keep their promises and then mention Test Drive Unlimited 2, as the Atari promised monthly DLC content with the first game and it ended up being released every other month.
