I just wish they'd utilize that handy "News" feature to let us know what's going on.

I don't mind waiting for things to arrive, I've got plenty of other things to do,
but I hate not knowing what's going on, when there are so many outlets for such information to be presented.

The twitter posting doesn't count, when the information released is as vague and meaningless as what we've been given.

I love how the immediate feeling is "PD IS SCREWING US". People need to have a little less pessimistic view of everything.

ow do you know they aren't forgoing the usual seasonal event (which is getting a bit boring, its the same thing with different cars every week) to implement some new ones (the fact the OCD is filled with rally cars is promising). Maybe they are trying to push the release of the "GT Drivers Club" forward.

This is the reason. Came to post it. Plus all the Rally cars does make a promising outlook for some rally events.

Some people just need to take a pill that makes them chill.

I don't mind, I still have the last 2 weeks worth of Seasonal Events to do.

Some people need to chill out.

This sucks. im level 29, and need these next events to onlock the vettel stage. Im not grinding for no one.

No, ok, seriously...
I don't have a problem with the delay, anyway.
I'm enjoying online races most of all, but I see that they're not very appreciated around here. I prefer playing offline when the game gives us the chance, and luckily this happens for GT5.
Probably also because I already reached level 30 and experience is not a thing that bugs me anymore...

I love how the immediate feeling is "PD IS SCREWING US".

Reading all these rants, the feeling I get is that people (me included) are simply pissed off that PD couldn't be bothered to stand by their own promises.

All Sony/PD needs to do is pay Amar a couple of 100 quid per event, give him the tools to create events and we would have some fantastic seasonal events. They can probably cover that with an equivalent of navel lint in their corporate expense account. But, no. The'd rather "take a little break". There is such a dedicated fan base for this game and PD is doing their damnedest to piss them off.

Don't get me wrong. I love this game and it is the only one I play. If PD were to abandon this completely, I'd still continue to play it and I've already gotten my $50 worth of entertainment.

They are so lazy it's not even funny. If they cared even little about their customers we would have a craptonn more events.

Don't say i'm not entitled to this opinion. I upgraded my tv, wheel, wheelstand for this, all in all about 2000€ and i feel robbed for the 50€ i payed for this game.
They could easily add 50 events a week but now they don't even give us the 5:yuck:

If PD really was a restaurant it would take them 7 years to bring you your steak and then after you taste it you send it back to the kitchen.
I won't say you aren't entitled to that opinion, but I wouldn't say they are lazy because the events haven't been updated. There is probably a valid reason why they haven't come and just not feeling like it probably isn't it.

And I will never understand being angry at PD because you upgraded your equipment. You chose to, the game is playable with an SD tv, dualshock3, and a couch. PD didn't say you have to spend 2000 euro minimum to play GT5.

Just take a look at the GT Acadamy threads and I think you'll know why these seasonal events are delayed.

My two peneth (perhaps you feel the same?).

1) I've played A-spec except the ridiculous and life draining endurance stuff.
2) I've got no idea why B-spec is even included in the game? Who plays it? In my opinion it's not why I buy a racing game. I actually want to drive the race cars, not watch them.
3) I consider the need to "grind" in a game a massive fail.
4) The seasonal races were fun because you can go to typical opponents, choose a car that matches their mid horse power range and have a really tight race. If you do manage a win then you get rewarded with tons of money.
5) PD gave us news of weekly updates (I didn't make that up or read it as an online rumour, PD told me the news).
6) The game was good for replay value of around two nights per week with the updates. Now there's no update, I don't see a lot of replay value. PD are late updating the game therefore I don't have much reason to play it.
7) I'm a busy, working family man. I don't have much time or opportunity to play GT5. I have some spare time tonight to play and was looking forward to playing the S7 events. They're not here so I'm disappointed.

I think other people are feeling this disappointment too. I don't feel the need to bash Kaz or PD. But, if they read these forum things I suppose I would like them to know that after looking forward to it all day at work I'm a bit peeved that I can't do the thing I was looking forward to.

At least, EA puts finished products on the shelves, not like PD...

i know i know, this post is really old by now but i couldnt help myself.. I dont think ive ever played a game by EA that hasnt needed patching. just one example FIFA 10, massive problems all the way through the game.

..........

I see this argument all the time and all I can say is - PLAY ONLINE! Go by any single player adventure game, it lasts way less than A-Spec does here, and all you have is online play for "replay value". Me personally I rush through the seasonal events to get more cash to buy more cars to beat the piss out of online! Everyone seems to think $50 should provide you with non stop entertainment every week forever when in reality the game already lasts a lot longer than 95% of games on the market for sometimes MORE money.

whats the problem ?
make the gt5 races that are in the game lol
season events is like glitch of double cars lol

Hey... If the next update includes this new driver's club, then I don't mind waiting a bit longer... Be patient everyone, maybe it will be worth it in the end!

The problem most people are having (i would assume) is that PD gave us seasonal events for 5 weeks or so in a row coming out on roughly the same day.

Then last week they give us a news post saying that Seasonal events are going to continue and give us a time they are expected to be out (+- 1 day). And then they don't come out..... and there is no announcement as to why they haven't come out.

The only way to find out whats going on is to learn Japanese and follow the lead developer on twitter and the message you get from him is cryptic at best. (how long of a break a day a week a month???)

I don't understand why they refuse to learn how to communicate with there community better.

+1 Iv'e never understood why people have this attitude to GT5. It's the only game that I have played solid for over 2 months and not finished, well since GT4 anyway .

I do see peoples points about the communication from PD though, It would be nice if there was something in the news section about it.

Really these updates should have come, but theres no problem anyway, now theres nothing to do at GT5 so it might get dust untill they come...cant understand why people are complaining so much, its not the end of the world IMO,they are just having a little break, thats normal.

I'd like to think that this is related to Pikes Peak, given the rumours that surrounded it before and the rally cars available.

I too am at level 29 and only a short way to go until level 30, but the delay of these events don't really bother me too much. What does bother me is the poor communication from PD. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter, but given the patience we've shown PD for this game it is the small things like this that feel worse than they actually are.

What with this and a game save corrupting bug in Mass Effect 2 that I'm waiting to be patched, things could be better!

Thats was great! But if PD was a restaurant, the queue for the meal woulg go aroung the block. Everyone would be talking about it, and there would be a couple of guys writing in a blob, all day round, about it...

Sent using GTPlanet for Ipad. Fantastic work Jordan!

If PD was a restaurant, they'd have 1000 meals, but 300 of them would be fries with something different to dip them, so you'd have fries with ketchup, fries with mustard, fries with mayo, fries with pepper, fries with salt, cajun fries with ketckup, cajun fries with mayo... (in reference to the Skylines, Miatas, RX-7's...)

I don't respect PD anymore and the way I see it, I won't even bother with GT6. With GT5 they made zero step forward and 100 steps back. Removing content as your franchise progresses is quite dumb. They need some western blood in that staff, more if they already have some.

If PD was a restaurant they'd get get shut down for serving reheated food from a few days before.

I can't figure this company out. I gave up back in the GT4 days. Nothing can surprise me anymore.

Well, I take that back. If they suddenly became organized and consistent, I would be surprised.

I've been spending my time in One Make Races and Arcade Races. Nothing but fun anymore. Screw A-Spec mode and waiting on seasonal events. I hit level 30 a few weeks ago and I have absolutely no intention on ever reaching 40.

Holy Fail. I mean the stuff that was already in the game is a bigger issue here. But, seasonal events aren't really that big of a deal. Of course it does suck that they haven't updated. But wow. jfedor saying he's canceling his preorder. lol.

I'm annoyed at myself. I completed all seasonal bonus races so far except the one with the VW war machine from week 5. I simply forgot to do it in time and now they don't update week 7. It would be nice to have this break knowing I did them all. :guilty:

I can't believe the uproar over this. 90% of the posts concerning the seasonal events are complaining about them. Now that they didn't put one out at the exact same time as last week, people act like the sky is falling.

Im not for or against PD for the delay. But holy 🤬 people, find something else to do until they're released. After countless threads being locked on this topic, and all the pissing and moaning, Im convinced that the GTP community is made up mostly of impatient 5 year olds.

I don't care if they are late but a simple news update would be nice since the last update said when they would occur.

Why don't the mods do something about the people posting in these threads just to belittle the impatient and disappointed? People with no interest in this topic but post in it anyway are why these turn into flame wars.

Perfect example Mods. Why did you even open this thread? How is it bothering you?

The online mode is a massive fail. It's disorganised chaos. Finding a loby, roaming around in free play waiting for the race to start, watching all these other players glitch, twitch and crash in front of me...... I just exit out.
I paid £30. I've had my £30 worth of fun, essentially I have no buyers remorse. However, I'm told there's more to come and given a time frame for it yet nothing happens.
