Perfect example Mods. Why did you even open this thread? How is it bothering you?

Maybe I looked at the thread thinking they're might be a worthwhile update on the topic?? Instead it's filled with people crying just like most the other threads on these forums. 👎

What would be really funny right now is a 'Hitler rant' video with him upset about a lack of new seasonal events.

I've never played another game that was so flawed, yet good enough at the same time to keep me playing. I think that is why this stuff is so frustrating.

Missing deadlines and not communicating is bad business, period. Whether or not someone should care about the seasonal events is not the issue...

It's the people that wade in without having read it that get me. :dunce:
For the record, nobody is saying that the world is ending because of this. It would simply be nice to be told what is happening. The news feed announced they would be updated, and since then nothing.

It's like being ignored by a barman, even if you don't get served right away, a quick "with you in a minute" works wonders. If they had put up a news feed saying "seasonal events will be delayed by x" we would not have half of this hoo-ha.

I can't believe the uproar over this. 90% of the posts concerning the seasonal events are complaining about them. Now that they didn't put one out at the exact same time as last week, people act like the sky is falling.

Im not for or against PD for the delay. But holy 🤬 people, find something else to do until they're released. After countless threads being locked on this topic, and all the pissing and moaning, Im convinced that the GTP community is made up mostly of impatient 5 year olds.

I think it's enough, We've waited for 7 years and this is it.
Mention what we've already had and got new. Is that is what we waited for
7 years?! Personnally I like the cockpit view, but c'mon 200 cars premium?
I know im going to get a comment back from someone.

I know what that guy was doing the past 7 years: Spending the 60 million on holidays.

@ djedwardsmith

I thing Ben78 is right, Im getting sick of the sauce, bring me the meal! :)
And also:
Tell me 1 thing the've changed from our feedback.

7 years? You mean you've been waiting for GT5 even before GT4 came out?

GT4 released in Japan Dec 2004 and overseas 2005.

I don't care if they are late but a simple news update would be nice since the last update said when they would occur.

Why don't the mods do something about the people posting in these threads just to belittle the impatient and disappointed? People with no interest in this topic but post in it anyway are why these turn into flame wars.

Where in the title "Kaz responds "A Little Break"" for #7 events" or in the OP's post do you get "This is a complaint thread!"? People who are interested in what is actually happening are the ones tired of all the complaining about the lack of this weeks seasonal. Should I really have to sift through 4 different threads of "I HATE PD FOR THIS" and "STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT HATING PD FOR THIS" when all I want to know is factual information about what is actually going on?

No worries for me with the delay. I plan to do the aspec Dream Car Championship tomorrow morning and the Mazda Roadster endurance race on Sunday morning. I have $10.5 million in credits and plenty of time to wait for the next seasonal events. They will come eventually.

Exactly! How dare I look in this thread for something that is actually informative. 💡

7 years? You mean you've been waiting for GT5 even before GT4 came out?

GT4 released in Japan Dec 2004 and overseas 2005.

What makes a diffrence(1 year of 6(Ok than 6) years)? EA makes alot of games per year, and I must say that I see alot more improvements than GT5.

Someone needs to start up a business teaching companies how to communicate on a basic level with their customers. Every time this sort of complaint arises (and that is a lot!), it is always communication that could prevent it.

How long does it take to type "Sorry for the delay, at this time we have no estimate on completion but will let you know when we do - have fun"?

Even the traffic road signs on the way to work communicate better than these companies do!

They must know that there is going to be a vast ocean of people hitting the refresh button so why not just talk and let them get on with something else?

I paid 110$ for the game, that "Collector's Edition", so, for my 110$, I expect something good. Had I paid 19,99$ from the used game section, I wouldn't mind, but this, seriously, is a big mess.

The game I've stop playing, GT5 actually. I'm still enjoying NBA2k10 from 2k sports and GTA IV from Rockstar right now and why ? because there's replay value. If you have low standards, that's not my fault.

They (PD) brought all of this on them, they've hyped something to legendary status and it fails miserably. But anyways, I'm happy that I'm #1 on your stupid leaderboard, something GT5 lacks...

EA makes tons of games per year, not one every decade and at least, they can communicate in ENGLISH...
If you aren't playing the game anymore, then just go sell it. Maybe you'd be better off playing some EA games that are obviously better than PD games in your eyes.

EA makes tons of games per year, not one every decade and at least, they can communicate in ENGLISH...

They do? I thought they manage studios, subsidiaries, and through EA partners program.

Such as EA Canada, EA China in Shanghai, EA Deutschland in Cologne, Germany, EA Digital Illusions CE in Stockholm, Sweden, EA France in Lyon, France, EA Freestyle in San Francisco, California, EIS (European Integration Studio) in Madrid, Spain, EA India, Noida, EA Brazil, São Paulo, EA Korea in Seoul, EA Los Angeles in Los Angeles, EA Romania in Bucharest, Romania, EA Montreal in Montreal, Quebec, North Carolina in Morrisville, EA Phenomic in Ingelheim, Germany, EA Salt Lake in Salt Lake City, Utah, EA Singapore, BioWare, Criterion Games, Bright Light, Realitime Worlds, Epic Games, Crytek, Hothead Games, Valve, Harmonix, MTV Games, Funcom, Grasshopper Manufacture, Klei Entertainment.

Thank you for pointing it out. Learned something today so I won't sound so stupid next time.

The difference is you can't be waiting for GT5 since Nov 2003. And EA doesn't make game. Its studios, subsidiaries, and EA partners does.

Why am I not surprised this thread is posts made mostly by people with hardly any posts at all.

Is it disappointing the events were not release on time: yes.
Is it disappointing PD has not said anything about it: yes.
Is it the end of all life as we know it: no.

PD have more important concerns on their hands right now than the seasonal events. GT Academy is a planned event, most likely with dates set in stone. They need to move swiftly to correct the problems to keep to the schedule.

Is your opinion and displeasure welcome: sure. Is most of the blathering unfounded, irrational, and just plain childish venting: you bet.

It's amazing how PD can do no right. They give people extra events and it's cool. Then people probably started complaining it was too hard with the restrictions so they open it so everyone (and most likely the people who really needed it) can get the most from these events. Now people complain that it's not challenging without restrictions, which you can easily impose on yourself. Then they have to scurry to fix something that could be life changing for a number of people to make it more fair and seasonal events don't get updated on time so the complaining begins again.

If you really are so fed up with the game, stop playing it. And find some better retort than "I paid my money, I can voice my opinion, I shouldn't have to stop playing." It's old, it's tiresome, it's a crutch. I paid my money, I can voice my opinion as well. I got more than my Collector's Edition money's worth so far, and I will continue to do so.

And to Ben78, you really should check your xenophobia at the door. HOW DARE a Japanese company headed by a Japanese man not communicate in English. Why it's totally preposterous.

And you must be new to GT to be talking about removing things from the game. Every GT on a new system had less than the previous game. Voicing displeasure is one thing, voicing it with FUD and useless remarks is another.

Oh well, I guess the Honeymoon is over. The cash is in the bank and [PD] all took vacation at the same time.

A vacation from the vacation that was the five+ years between GT4 and GT5, which turned out to be a giant copy/paste 👍 Love it. With GT Academy quickly becoming another debacle I'm glad I didn't bother with it.

I've played GT since GT1 launched; this is the last GT I will be buying or playing.

I think that problem has been fixed two days ago, according to a news post on GTPlanet, so I may be wrong, but this seems not to be what they're facing right now.

That was the first time, they had to do it for the 2nd time.

Why am I not surprised this thread is posts made mostly by people with hardly any posts at all.

Why does it matter if I have a few posts? I may have joined during this little "fiasco", but maybe it's a good thing that it brought this forum teeming with rabbid fans to my attention. There's some good in everything.

On that note, I do agree and am disappointed. If we've all waited for years for the game, what's another week? :)

Why would you bother putting +/- if it clearly didn't mean anything? Why does he respond on twitter instead of the the in-game systems? A little pop up, or message, or news update saying "sorry for the delay, there won't be events this week" would have been nice.

I'm sure PD knows how to make great games, and they like cars, but they need a some more management/PR.

Maybe the "+/-" thing was really supposed to mean "...more or less..."

The more I read about Shift 2, the more I want it. At least, EA puts finished products on the shelves, not like PD...

HA EA putting finished products on the shelves :') that joke made my day hahaha good one man

Well, I'm going to add my name to the list of those who are disappointed about this situation. The Update Schedule message we have in the UK says they:

"From this point the Seasonal Events will generally be updated on Thursday every week at 4.00 (GMT). Please note that the timing of these updates may vary by +/- 1 day..."

That message was posted on the 25th of Jan. It surely wasn't unreasonable to assume that PD would only have posted it if they were confident that they could meet the schedule for the first few weeks at the very least. That's certainly how I looked at it. Since then. we've had only one update which met this schedule and now one failure to meet it.

I don't think it is childish or impatient to be disappointed about this failure or want to express that disppointment (although the way some people have expressed it might well be). It's not the end of the world and it's not the end of my love for the GT series but it is very disappointing. In my view PD needs to work harder to communicate with their customers and should give us an update on what is happening with the SEs as soon as possible.

I should add that I've only taken the time to write this because the core of the game is so good. If it wasn't, I wouldn't care what they did with the SEs.

+1 Iv'e never understood why people have this attitude to GT5. It's the only game that I have played solid for over 2 months and not finished, well since GT4 anyway .

I do see peoples points about the communication from PD though, It would be nice if there was something in the news section about it.

Thank you. 2 of the best games I've played last year were about like 10 hours long each (Uncharted 2 and God of War III) and I didn't feel ripped off at all. I get 10 hours out of GT5 in 2-3 DAYS. Uncharted has good multiplayer so I ended up getting into that as well, that added a lot, but without it I wouldn't have felt ripped off..

The online mode is a massive fail. It's disorganised chaos. Finding a loby, roaming around in free play waiting for the race to start, watching all these other players glitch, twitch and crash in front of me...... I just exit out.
I paid £30. I've had my £30 worth of fun, essentially I have no buyers remorse. However, I'm told there's more to come and given a time frame for it yet nothing happens.

Online in every game out there can be a massive fail thanks to the cheaters/morons/etc, you need to take control of it. Look for rooms carefully (press triangle to refresh) or heres an idea, start your own room and configure it how you like. People will show eventually. Once you give it a shot you will make some friends you can play with and you will have non-stop fun. Or hey you're already a member here, theres a whole forum of people setting up clean races, and series, heck some even have prizes! If you're saying its a massive fail you likely haven't given it much of a shot.

just lol at most of that

But xenophobia? I thought that gt5 was released in a lot of English speaking countries? Should I be surprised that the menus aren't in Japanese? The pre release marketing was in English, The Box was Printed in English, Even the number plates are in English. I am a little shocked at myself for thinking that after I paid for the game (with GBP) that I could assume that Postpony Digital and Soony would find some way to communicate with me in my language.

Sorry, there wasn't room in the $60 million budget for an english translator. :p

Is GT5 a perfect game? Hardly. Am I "disappointed" by the failure to meet their own schedule for SE7? Mildly. I'm glad we get the free races at all, and my disappointment at not getting one (yet) this week is really just a very minor disappointment. I'll get over it. Meanwhile, I'll watch a movie or do something else. No big.
