cremation.

i've beaten this at least twice now. I think the original KH was harder.

the menu action, for example, was modified for KH2 for ease of use. all bits concerning the keyblade availability , and adding a special to the blades, makes things a bit easier.

my only aggrivation is with changing the fire magic format, basically rendering it useless.

Hold R1 and mash X for 10 hours. The story was somewhat engaging, with nostalgia kicking kicking in whenever old forgotten Disney themes and characters show up, but other than that it was a lacklustre and shallow experience. The squeeing fanbase (OMG I LUV ROXAS + AXEL, YAOI FTW! SQUEEEE!) didn't help either.

F1GTR: then why are you bothering with something like this at all? if it's too "dorky" for you...

So I can't post my opinion on something I've played? I thought it had a good premise but it was let down by shallow gameplay and a lack of difficulty.

Well..... yeah, its true. I mean I had really anticipated for Kingdom Hearts I to come out and played it and it was awesome. Then when KH2 came out, well, thought the first few parts was interesting, then it just went downhill from there. Sure the cinematic and the cut scenes were cool, but the fighting itself was just getting old. But still, couldn't stay away from the series...... :D

the "squeeing fanbase" crack made it sound like you were dissing the game for not being "manly enough". when I run into remarks like that, they're usually from weirdos that only bought a console to play M rated splatter fests or Halo.

I agree about excess button-mashing...which is why I don't think I'll ever play a guitar hero.

they improved ONE thing, tho...the gummy sequences are tough cookies!

It's nothing about being manly enough... I went to a anime convention last weekend (lol manly!) and the amount of squeeing emitted by KH fans would annoy anyone. ;)

*grin* it's called Lack of Maturity! besides, there's something like 5 new spinoffs all in the works, so the fanbase is squeeing extra hard.

By the way, did any one of you manage to beat Sepiroth? I did, AND I even discovered an easy way to get to LV99 without trying hard! (HINTS): Pride... Peak... Gullwing... Exp boost... low health... magnega...

I finally nailed Sephiroth in the FIRST game, but I had to use a Level Max cheat (i was finishing off a file that was allready down to the Last Rest). I'm working on an expert mode file, now, so I can see the transition FMV's for Chain of Memories.

I see. And not to get off topic here, but is the remixed version of Chain of Memories better than the GBA version! Me, I think that the only "help" you get from this game is that since it's in 3-D, you would have an easier time dodging the enemies' attacks. What I REALLY don't like about both Chain of Memories & the remixed version is that the battle system SUCKS! I mean, your only moves come from the cards that you collect! That's why I like Kingdom Hearts 2 better! Because at least in that game, you fight with strength instead of crappy cards!!

The trick to dealing with Sephiroth in the first game is using the mana recovery for damage you take bit, so you can just cast cure when you need to. Of course, that requires you to take magic as your primary.

Azuremen: not when sephy does a "cheap" with every blow. three hits and your dead in the first five seconds. I can't react at lightning speed like I used too

GTMaster: you forget that some of us don't have handhelds? they've been holy @$!% expensive for so long that I've only contemplated ANY handhelt like twice.

The Remixed version of Chain of Memories is supposed to be for the PS2. Mostly because I've seen gameplay movies of the game in Japanese on Youtube. And are the handheld games really expensive these days? Don't forget, a lot of people prefer the PS3, 360, and the Wii over the GBA. So take that into account when you say that "GBA's are expensive".

'cause I don't wanna pay 75 bucks or more for ANY handheld.

it may ONLY be in Japan release, as well. thanks for the tip, tho

By the way, on a scale of 1-5 stars how hard would you say it is to get the items required for the Ultima Weapon? And also, which Keyblade did you prefer to use the most? Me, I was particularly fond of the "Oblivion" Keyblade for its ability, "Drive Boost".

4?? Considering I have the Ultima weapon, it was definintely worth the effort, and have used it ever since. Before then, I generally used the Fenrir for bosses etc. (the Oblivion for leveling up drive forms). It varied on the situation at hand 👍

i liked this more than the first..tho the musical bit was a tad lame lol
and the final form is awesome
i think sephiroth was easier on the first one

But doesn't the Fenrir Keyblade have the "Negative Combo" ability? Why would you use that when there is more better options in terms of strength? A few better keyblades I chose were the "Sleeping Lion", "Decisive Pumpkin", "Oblivion", "Ultima Weapon", and "Guardian Soul". But of course, those are just my opinions on the Keyblade. But what I really like to do is to just use the "Kingdom Key" for the entire game because after all, it just wouldn't be a "Kingdom Hearts" game without the Kingdom Key would it?

I suppose. But when I completed the game in hero mode, I found I had to keep using different keyblades, I couldn't use the same one for every boss, it was that hard. That was before I got the Ultima Weapon though...

Yeah, the Ultima Weapon IS the strongest Keyblade in the game (in terms of strength and abilities) but mainly what I did for every boss in the game (except Xemnas and Sephiroth) is that I used the Kingdom Key, mostly because I like to give myself a good challenge throughout the game. But yeah, when I first synthesized the Ultima Weapon I was in shock! I guess because I initially thought that "Oblivion" had the strongest power in the game. Also, do you think Cloud looks AND fights a whole lot cooler than he did in "Chain of Memories"? You know, with the "First Tsurugi" blade?

Meta CHOCOBO FTW!!

But I don't want to expand the " fangirl pairings..." I hate those things....

To defeat Sephy, I believe it is easy though there is a small rhythm to it like in DDR. but Don't forget about Final Mix.

Stateside, of course we aren't going to get Final Mix but thats the same thing they said about Kaido battle.

Everybody, even though this thread is mainly about "Kingdom Hearts 2", I will now be talking about "Kingdom Hearts" to kind of "broaden" the topic since the two games have the same action. Oh, and by the way I am about to get Kingdom Hearts this weekend and I need tips on which of the 3 items at the beginning I should choose to make my game easier. Now normally, I would just go to a gaming help website but their walkthroughs never seem to help me out! Besides, I think it better to ask you guys since you have helped me out a few times before.:)

it all depends on your tastes, actually. what they're asking for is what you want to Prioritise, and what you think you don't need. the selected first item and the unselected item (the one you don't throw away) determine what abilities you learn when you level up. the "how" of leveling up is determined by your choices when you talk to the characters from the FF's, when given a choice.

KH is harder than its sequel in my opinion. Though that Sephy is a bit easier on you in the tournaments.
