Lets put this into perspective and not pick out one nation.

There is not a lack of American cars. There is a lack of non-Japanese cars.

Can't vouch that much for England, but they're sure quite widespread in Italy. I don't think i EVER seen a buick or a cadillac here (or in any other european country that I visited at that, and i visited most), on the other hand :D

So, you see Daihatsus daily. Poor guy. I've never seen one in the wild, and hope to god I never will.

Yet, I see Cadillacs and Buicks every day. I see more Mustangs than you can shake a stick at, and even as a Mustang Hater I have to give props to the new GT500 - even with the funky rear end it looks pretty bad ass. That is a car that should be in this game, though I can fully see why given time restraints.

These are cars that are not common in your part of the world, but in this part of the world they are. We shouldn't ignore say, the Honda Civic Type R because it was never sold here, of course not. But we also should not ignore a perfectly good car because it wasn't sold there.

We should have a couple Skyline GTRs, though it was never sold here - though imported. At the same time, several very good American cars have been abandoned completely.

Rest assured, every car mentioned can compete with anything anyone can build. If it were practical, you would see a whole lot of American cars on your roads.

And you might want to lose the sterotype of "American Cars can't turn", because last I checked, the ACR is still faster round the Nurburgring than anything Porsche has made, and it took a GT1 spec 599 that has no road use at all to beat it. Hmmm.

I'm sure though the Diahatsus are plenty good. (lol)
 
In conclusion: Belgium wins as all the Belgian cars (1) are in GT5.

Although I would like to see some more American muscle from the 70's and early 90's, I'm more interested in seeing more variety from more nations' automakers. I'd like to see more obscure cars.

I take it you either haven't been following F1 in recent years or don't follow at all.

Honda's most recent appearance in Formula One was in 2008 (Yes, I'm aware that they did withdraw from the sport before that and am not arguing to the contrary.), where they had the fewest points of any point-earning team with only 14 for ninth place in the constructors championship and with only two teams below them, including the Honda-powered Super Aguri F1 with 0 points. In 2007 Honda was ranked eighth with just 6 points, and the Honda-powered Super Aguri came in ninth with just 4 points. Honda did better in 2006, but only fourth rather than winning all the time. 2005 wasn't as kind on BAR Honda, ranked sixth with 38 points.

In fact, I'm not really seeing this overwhelming domination or heaps of winning to bore from anywhere.

Anyone that says the CTS-V shouldn't be in this game or is not missing has issue. That car is an ultra impressive four door sedan. This thread is so entertaining ROFL.

Agreed. That thing is a beast. It's ugly as hell IMHO but you've got to give it props for being an epic wolf in sheep's clothes.
 
Being a Japanese game, it is sort of inevitable that Japanese car would be in the game in the largest numbers, which to me is a good thing because I prefer Japanese cars to anyone else's but that doesn't mean I don't want to see the cars of other regions in the game. I do, the more the better, but since I don't think anywhere near enough Japanese cars are Premium cars so how much of a chance do other regions have?

PD has about 140 people in the team. I don't think they can put anything like every car they would like to put in the game, never mind the licencing issues which may arise as well.

Its awful cheap tat. Not sure what it has to do with M5's as Top Gear proved it was only just quicker than an Audi S4. Not so impressive really.

Lol, quote of the day. but this is a game by Japanese developers. :-)

One more point, there are many European cars that aren't sold here, and many American cars that aren't sold overseas, probably making it harder and more expensive for a Japanese game developer to get their hands on one.

You get no argument from me about the looks, its just impressive what GM did with the Cadillac Brand. This is why I am glad I own the other game *cough *cough.

I hope we all can agree that the cars with 15hp etc should go.

Wow really, someone just had to go there. I think the numbers it put up at the 'ring do it enough justice. The car is an impressive 4 door sedan, why so much Euro nose turning jeez man.

Chrysler worked on it with Mitsubishi who called it the Eclipse and Chrysler (parent of Eagle) called it the Talon.

mm, brings back memories, I owned one of these Chargers, raced it for several years, bought an Omni and basically built a GLHS out of it, then modified it to the hilt. Funny, the crowd 320hp in a 2300lb car will draw at the race track :-)

Would have been nice to see these in game.

Thats fine also, still a shame the CTS-V was left out. There could be a great 4 door sedan race, oh well we have a premium VW Van.

The thing that disappointed me the most is that MY American car isn't in it. It's not in Forza 3 either for that matter. Even today there's still a lot of '67-'68 Mustangs on the road and people sure love it because I get several thumbs-up's from people every time I drive it somewhere...
 
Why do people want the Buick Regal GS in when we can have the near identical but significantly faster (321bhp plays 255) Vauxhall/Opel Insignia VXR? And for those saying how small Japan is as a country thinking this means it is insignificant automotive wise must be off you nut, Russia is huge but it doesn't have the world largest and most important car industry does it?

The total of FIA GT championships since it started in 1997 is 25. Twelve years with two classes, one with one class. The Viper GTS-R won only 5 of those 25 times. Hence 1/5.

yep, he's talking about the cars, not the teams.Still a vast minority considering that they managed to win five championships over a total of 25 considering GT1 and GT2.

But to be fair, I'll let you even tally up the Porsche GT3s. Oh wait, even combined, that's still 5 wins, same as the 1 single Viper.

Eagle was an American Car company selling a Japanese car with their logo on it. There was nothing American about the Eagle Talon or the Dodge Stealth. Both were Mitsubishi inside and out.
