From what I saw of "the making of Gt5" video was that the American car dev team was very small.

So they actually had a "team" dedicated to American cars? My wife could have picked better cars at random.

I was enormously disappointed that there were no 2011 Mustangs. I'd like to see the new Shelby GT-350 and the GT-500 preferrably with the Super Snake package (800HP baby!).

Finally the 2011 BOSS 302 would make a GREAT RM-able car:

2011 Mustangs are selling like hotcakes in the US so they should really be in the game IMHO. Much more so than the Challenger and Camaro which ARE in the game in their latest form.

Explain why the new 5.0L Mustang is faster around a track than the new M3? What kind of American cars have you been driving your whole life? Ford Festiva?

You can't really call the Festiva an American car... sure it says Ford on the front but it's really just a rebadged Mazda. What American cars I've owned? Currently I have a 2008 Cadillac CTS-V as my daily driver. Currently working on a 1972 Pontiac Trans Am. Before that I used to have a Ford Focus RS ST170 when I was in Europe. Last time I checked we don't even have Ford Festivas here in the States.

Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz are too busy looking at each other's cars that they're all coming out with practically the same vehicle. The M3s of recent have gotten away from what they were (light with small inline-6s). As with the Mustang being faster, it's always been under the hood for American cars, and it's quite disappointing what with the live rear axle.

I see the appeal of the Mustang but I'd rather have a 4-door M3 anyday. Build quality is better, the ride is better. Sure, for the money you can buy a Mustang and build it up to be faster than the M3 but at the end of the day, I'll still be in a BMW and you'd just be in a jumped up Ford.

the new CTS-V does 0-60 in 3.9 So yea it is the fastest sport sedan out there. It is a beastly car and strangely absent.

Isn't that car like 3x the price of a CTS-V. People have to admit, ya the Euros and even certain Japanese cars can make better cars, but you still get the best value with American.

I'm North American, but I think the lack of European cars is a lot more of a problem.

American cars just aren't sporty at all. So besides your list of not particularly insteresting cars, there wouldn't be much more to add.

In a game with the Honda Today G, sportiness is irrelevant to the GT series. It's also your opinion. I've owned a CTS-V and would love to have the newer one since I'll never be able to afford the second gen V anytime soon.

The Panamera is not a sedan by the way.....

Best value for build quality? Questionable.
 
Despite there being a lack of American cars within the game, I'm just glad they have the Big 3's flagship cars as premium cars (Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1, Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR, and Ford Ford GT). Yeah I wish they had a list of other cars, but thankfully they at least have the three mentioned above as premium cars.

Man, that is BS. Honda Civics are basically over priced and Ford comes put with equal quality products for cheaper. I have a friend who owns a 2001 Civic, he thought he was getting a great value cause it was a Honda, he has put almost 13k on top of the purchase price in maintainence. Ford has come with great products last 3 years. The only Chrysler is still sub par.

Panamera is a sedan, just not a very good looking one. I'd much rather have a Rapide or a Quattroporte, or an Audi S8.

Thanks for proving my point. The CTS-V manages to edge out the M5, so it's perfectly comparable. But the Panamera beats the CTS-V, & now it's in a different price range....

And there's the thing. It's only been recently that Ford has been coming out with decent products while the rest of the world has been (and still is) making better products all along.

I don't like the new S8, but the one D3 A8 was one of the coolest looking sedans ever. Also, the Rapide is so awesome.As for the Panamera, I love the interior.

Well, with the price range, Ford gives better quality per dollar as well now. not to mention Toyota's cars look like something you would find in a retirement home. Oh wait, you do, plenty of them. Honda makes the same product year in year out, and while its good, its nothing to write home about. Nissan I have to say makes great products, but the Altima is sort of Shady in terms of quality.

As for Europeans, you just end up paying a bit too much, but if you can afford them, then go for em.

Why does Honda need to change anything? The way they build their cars obviously works, otherwise they wouldn't continue to hold their value.

Case in point; my Acura retailed for $35,000 new. 4 years later, I could re-sell it for $25-27K which is the current market price. Not very many cars, esp. American-made ones, could do the same until recently unless they were very rare or sought-after.

Only according to you, apparently. Let me know when you review the car & have the article posted in a well known publication. Maybe your opinion will hold some merit against numerous other journalists who say otherwise.

My girlfriend really likes the new Focus. I'd been waiting for them to globalize the Euro spec for quite some time and they've finally gotten around to it! If they release a Focus RS (SVT here in the states?) I'd make her go get one. Hell, I'd get one for myself if I had room in the garage.

For an extreme comparison of the cost of European vehicle ownership, I did a comparison between maintenance costs (per mile) of my 550 and my girlfriend's Acura. It came to about $0.87 for the Acura and $10.97 for the 550.

I don't have to. It has 5-doors. My 05' CTS-V was Listed as a Sedan and has 4-doors, My 04' Mazda 3 5-door was not listed as a Sedan. My 88' 626 GT was not listed as a sedan and it had 5-doors. Its your choice to follow the words of professional journalists(and not form your own opinion) but my eyes do not deceive me, the Panamera is a Hatchback..... I'm not going to dispute what you call it, just know what it is.

Hmm, I doubt it is faster and even if it is true the M3 always gets a faster brother like the CSL or GTR which will cook about anything on a track. They start with a "Normal" M3's and bring out much faster versions later on.

TBH, I cannot - as an American - think of a car you could add that would really fit in. Yes, I would agree the 2011 Mustang in all of it's fugliness would be great to have, but no other manufacturer has a 2011 car, outside perhaps Jaguar, though that may be a 2010 car.

I quite like the new Mustang, and I think it's one of the best looking Mustangs ever made.
