The new gearbox is called Lamborghini Doppia Frizione, or Lamborghini Double Clutch.

The name further reinforces my view on Italian being the sexiest language ever.

It reminds me a bit of the Lotus Esprit concept (from 2010).

I mean that's the generic mid engined sports car shape so it should.

I like the new car. I'm not excited about it, it just seems like a standard evolution of the car its replacing.

In terms of silhouette, i tend to agree.. but i think it goes beyond that, it seems to share some swage lines and zorros. Not saying that's a bad thing, just pointing out the similarities.

I used to think the Gallardo was the #1 best Lamborghini ever made. But it's been delegated to #2, and the Huracán has taken the #1 spot. I hope we see this in GT6 soon!

I think it's just a good coincidence since it's based heavily off the rear of the MP4-12C as well.
A very good coincidence really.

But it's not a drastic similarity, so Rockstar won't sue

Not really. How many Venenos are they planning on making. Like 4 coupes and a dozen spyders?
There will be hundreds of LaFerrari, P1 and 918.

That isn't a reason why they are or aren't competitors.

-First there is power range, where the Veneno is rather under powered.
-Then there is technology used. Every single one is hybrid except the Veneno
-And finally the Veneno is based on an Aventador, where the other were created from scratch

So, yes those three aren't competitors with the Veneno

Isn't the Veneno a competitor to these cars?
nah, i don't think so. Veneno only has like 700 hp (similar to Aventador), the cars i mentioned earlier had around 900-1000 hp with hybird technology (with the exception of Agera, but still the Agera has around 1000ish hp). Those cars will smoke Veneno.

If i recall, Agera uses a 5.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8, not hybrid.

But the Agera was launched way back. They have a 2-3 year gap. The Agera was a sort of response to the Veyron SS
More like the Veyron- they were revealed quite close together and no one out side of either company knew about either car.

In fact, a Top Gear magazine Journo told Von Koenigsegg about the SS's record before he drove the Agera. And I also read my old TG magazines way too much...

*phew* I thought I was the only one who read those old magazine more than twice!
Anyway, I agree with you. It was a response to Bugatti in general. I was thinking about the Agera R and it was launched in around the same time as the standard Agera (at least that was the conclusion of my short wiki search)

Veneno "only" has 750 if I'm not mistaken.

I saw a YouTube video from "Carlyle's Picks" last night that gave a pretty good look at the Gallardo before discussing the Huracan. It helped me to appreciate the Gallardo more as the guy mentioned the Lamborghini/Audi partnership in making a more accessible Lamborghini apart from the Murciélago and Aventador. I just didn't really like the Gallardo's looks all that much to appreciate it outside of its performance. The Huracan, however, is a better looker to me. Only deterrent for me is its rear.

The Huracan is still a plenty fabulous car to me.

From Wikipedia..

Huracan[pronunciation?] (also Hurakan, Harakan and Jurakan), in Mayan understandable[clarification needed] as Jun Raqan[pronunciation?] "one legged", (often referred to as U K'ux Kaj 'Heart of Sky')[1] is a K'iche' Maya god of wind, storm, fire and one of the creator deities who participated in all three attempts at creating humanity.[2] He also caused the Great Flood after the second generation of humans angered the gods. He supposedly lived in the windy mists above the floodwaters and repeatedly invoked "earth" until land came up from the seas.

His name, understood as 'One-Leg', suggests god K of Postclassic and Classic Maya iconography, a deity of lightning with one human leg,[3] and one leg shaped like a serpent. God K is commonly referred to as Bolon Tzacab and K'awiil or Kauil. The name may ultimately derive from huracan, a Carib word,[4] and the source of the words hurricane and orcan (European windstorm).

Related deities are Tohil, Bolon Tzacab, Cocijo in Zapotec mythology, and Tlaloc in Aztec mythology.

Huracan is referred to in Grace Nichols' poem Hurricane Hits England where she makes references to the Caribbean gods.

So, no more fighting bull names?

Yeah, but didnt P1 and Laferrari are considered as hypercars ? Which makes them in the same class as Agera and Veyron SS

It's still named after a fighting bull.

Telegraph
In Lamborghini tradition, the name of the new car comes from the world of bullfighting. The bull Huracán, which fought in Alicante in 1879, was “defiant and invincible”, coming from a breed known for “outstanding courage and strong sense of attack”, according to Lamborghini.

Theoreicly yes but don't forget that the SLR 722 was also called hypercar and it's miles behind this generation.
The Agera and the Veyron and even the Venom GT are hypercars built for speed. The P1, 918 and LaFerrari are also built for speed... around corners, however, despite the Agera using an ethanol powered engine, this new hybrid generation has daily driving in mind. Electric motors saving fuel and sort of stuff. Although every single one of these is a hypercar they don't belong in the same "race"

I see, wasn't aware of 722 being classed as a hypercar. Wasn't Huayra is considered as a hypercar too ? Even though its not as powerful as the ones we're talking about. If that's true, the SLR 722, Huayra and Agera are old school hypercars, i like the sound of that :D, sort of like Gipsy Danger being called the old school Jaeger for being a nuclear powered Jaeger instead of electricity, although in this case, the old school hypercars doesnt use hybrid techs :sly:
