Lap times in Tsukuba Circuit

Good find...

Although I reckon when they took the McLaren F1 out they must've been having a bad day...

1:11.71 Subaru Legacy Wagon GT-B E-Tune (2001 280cv)
1:12.31 McLaren F1

EDIT Found another F1 time... 1:04.62 McLaren F1 - Now that's a bit better...

Someone who has prologue should find an exact same car on that list that is in the game, do a the best lap that they can, and see how it compares to the real life time.

It's what i'm doing right now ;) with the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur (R34)

Best motoring time: 1,06,00
My time: 1,03,465

i don't know why there's so much diference...
I used MT, no TCS and normal tyres

It could be that he has no fear on the track as he can't possibly kill himself!!

Also they might have different tyre choices?!

few months ago i had a discussion about it with my mate and i used the same car, auto gearbox and TCS off. I can't remember my tire choice as i tried them all. I got some 0:58:sth - i played it pretty rough.

I think that BM ara not driving at 100% of their capabilities because of the fear of crashing an expensive car... :scared:
Look at the time of the Mclaren F1, I supose they were driving this car with extremely caution.

There doesn't look to be much run-off area at Tsukuba, from playing GT4P, and gravel doesn't do any cars anygood. I've had to replace a set of almost new front disks and pads when gravel/grit got between them after venturing into a gravel trap at silverstone a while back - that cost me around £220 pounds. I bet its considerably more in a McLaren F1, so they probably didn't want to risk it!

Does anyone know if the Best Motoring times are from Time Attacks or Battles.

Normally the battle times are normally slightly slower due to the other cars on track; this combined with the lack of risk in GT4:P would make sense.

Edited to say good find on the lap times as well.

I belive the point is that they were doing it for real! - if you check the link to their site, although it not in english you can see their list of cars contains ones that are certainly not in GT4P

You have to try street tires. 'normal' tires are arcade tires and have little to do with realism. I've done this half a year ago with the Import version of Prologue. The times proved to be pretty realistic. At best we would get about 1 second under it, but as mentioned elsewhere, you're not worried about crashing your car in Prologue, but you are in real life. Check this laptime db here:

You didn't understand what Scaff asked.

He was not saying that those were times taken from GT Prologue.

You see, after a race in Best Motoring, they show the total times for each car, but also they show their best laps in that race and their best laps in time attack, i.e. with no other cars in the track.

But answering Scaff's question, when that list started to be created (it was made by Sérgio, the webmaster of tuningpt.com), I remember he saying that it was being done with the Time Attack times.

I've just tried the street tyres... It's more dificult to control the car, you have to brake earlier and it always wants to oversteer when you accelerate. I like it pretty much than normal tyres!! Thanks Arwin :)

My time now is 1.06.343

That time seems to be more real...

Exactly what I was getting at.

Here's a comparison of times on that site and my GT times (in bold) using the same cars:

1,05,23 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII GSR
1.05.238 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII GSR

1,07,69 Subaru Impreza WRX Sti Version VI
1.05.490 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Version VI

Judging from the above, the PD team appear to have done a good job with the lap timing, etc

Comparision of The Mazda RX-7 at Tsukuba. My time is in BOLD.

1,07,89 = Mazda RX-7 Type RZ (MKIII 255cv)

1.07.899 = Mazda RX-7 Spirit R (GT4P Car)

So 👍 to PD Great Work and GT4 Is definatley going to be amazing to say the least.

I guess it's a tad bit out of date. Didn't the HiperMax/HKS Evo 8 break the 54 second mark for tuned production cars?

That slower time was recorded in the Rain (Chuva = Rain)... I'm sure a McLaren is quite a handful in the wet. :scared:

Yeah, the HKS Evolution broke the fastest production car so it hasnt been updated in a pretty long time.

The fastest stock JDM production car is held by the Subaru Impreza STi Spec C (2004 model), although I believe that the NSX-R did a better time than the Spec C. I posted that link in Cars in General a long time ago... just to let you guys know.

PD did a wonderful job I totally agree!

Makes a lot more sense now. I remember seeing a documentary a while ago stating the F1 still had superb performance under wet weather conditions though, it'd need too.

The F1 ran on a damp day, but so did other cars including the F40 which did a better lap.

The reason for the time difference on the skyline could be a number of things. Often the weather isn't great for races. Also for some reason cars often get better times in the race than their qualifying lap with BM. Also possibly due to weather.

The NUR in a head to head is quicker than a vspec 2, but according to lap times the vspec 2 is way ahead. Compare he GT4 NUR time to the vspec 2 time at Tsukaba.

There could be engine/transmission trouble, wrong tires, weather, numerous of things that could go wrong. Im sure the NUR is faster than VSPEC II. I think that time of the Mclearn F1 was in Super battle something and everyone spinned out because it was in the rain. The Evo 5 won, beating out F40, F50, NSX etc. Its because he had AWD, all the other driver spun out at least once, except the NSX type S.

I ran some more tests, bare with me as I tried these with Manual Transmission, which I am to not that great with. Mine are in BOLD.

Setting: Manual Tranmission/No Driving Aids and Road Tyres.
