Thanks for the offer of help Stormryder, but i think it is just practice I need, and a bit of luck.

Just out of interest though, are you running a standard bike or have you tweaked the suspension and gears?

I have tweaked the final gear on the tiger so it goes a bit faster down the long straight. It could probably do with a bit more as its tops out about 203mph now about halfway down the straight.

I'm also using the standard riding position, i haven't played round with that yet.

If anyone is interested in seeing the 6'59.526 ghost, i can upload it, not for the best lap time as it has a few grass hits, but might be useful for something to practice against.

Its for the US version of the game.

On another note,

I was thinking that a good feature for the next game maybe, would be if the game recorded your time through each section, then showed you the best time you "could" achieve by adding your best times for each section from all your various laps together. If you get what I mean?

presuming you guys are running in TT mode, what have you guys done to make the jumps bareable and to keep the bike inline at over 200mph? ive to slow down to 150-160 to make it through the turn at the end of the lone straight otherwise ill wobble off track.

Well, I stuck to my racing line. If you would like to see a video, then let me know. I also press down on the stick (or pad) and I also lower the front ride height a little bit.

I have made adjustments, to both the bike and the rider style. The bike adjustments arent anything severe, just little tweaks here and there. In my best time so far, I've found a good final gear ratio, so I accelerate out of the corners good and top out at 225 mph down the backstretch, I dont redline it, but it's very close to it. Again, if you would like my replay, let me know.

od, i thought lower the front height would make it worse? (or, at least thats what the game says anyways).

sure, id like to see the replay/video :) i just need to get my confedence up at jumps/long back straight (and a bit of luck) and sooner or later ill have a submitable replay.

Lowering the front shifts the bikes and riders weight a little forward. The problem with the backstretch is there is one little patch that screws you up near the beginning of the incline. Your front tire keeps popping up, so lowering the front helps (but dont it to much). I'll go look at my archives and which replay will give you the best example, would you also like to use it for a ghost?

sure 👍

i just did a 7.14 with the 999R RM, but, with a crash and "turn b!tch!" as soon as i think ive things figured out, something else puts me on my butt :erm:

Ok, the slowest time I have is 7'06.xxx. I also have a 7'00.xxx done with an R6 RM. What would you prefer?

NA/tt mode/yamaha r6 rm/7.13.912 :)

you can deffently tell there are places where im holding back, like holding 2nd gear on the limiter to make sure i dont run wide, etc.

Read the blurbs given in the question marks beside the various game settings. They'll tell you exactly what does what.

That's not all it does. It also increases bike stability at the expense of growing understeer (max lean angle is reduced). Not good for the twisties if you lower it too much. All the answers are in the game itself.

Bingo! Hey, you've come a long way since you started :dopey:

Actually I think I may be mistaken. Lowering front ride height reduces understeer because of the increased weight bias toward the front of the bike. More weight toward the the front means more front traction and less understeer. Had to hit Google to check my facts. Question is, do the game bikes take all these nuances into consideration as accurately as their real world counterparts?

And of course it means you might highside your ass into oblivion more because the back wheel starts to turn to jello the more you lower the front. Too much oversteer can be a Bad Thing (TM).

Sorry, been busy and haven't watched it yet.
I'll try to get it done tonight.

Something for you guys to watch (yes, it's my replay :dopey: ).

Nice one, leadfoot. :)

It has only now become apparent to me just how evil traction control is. You hammered that throttle nicely throughout your turns; actions that surely would have resulted in at least a few highsides clear into orbit if you were in full pro mode.

Beautiful run though. Risspeck.

You gotta be kidding me!!!! Thats how close I was? HOLY crap man, I thought it was clean, and just puff of dust just popped up from getting on the white line.

Man I worked so hard on that lap.... maybe I'll do it on Pro mode, to see what I get. :( :guilty: :banghead:

And thanks Uncreated 👍 (use that replay as a ghost, see what you come up with :dopey: )

Damn you people. You're gonna force me to noob out of full pro mode just to be able to compete with you all. Suppose a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.

argh! managed a 7.12 with the only off being the snaking straight right before the second karasol type turn because you cant turn with the wheels in the air. the next lap, i was 4 seconds faster and run wide somewhere between the two karasols and end up 2 seconds faster at the line (7.10) then for 3-4 more laps, i struggle to stay on two wheels then with a love tap on the wall i manage a 7.07. the next lap i was 1.5 seconds up on that at sector two only to have the rear end lead the way into the next corner :(

new goal - 7.05 :P

Nice, think you can cut 5 seconds off and tie my time? :sly:

I actually, believe it or not, can get a time better with Pro mode than Semi-pro mode. I'll post back when I accomplish that.

Thanks.
My lap may be slower, but it's clean though :sly:
Know what you mean about getting a better time on Pro mode though,as i'm quicker on GT4 using my pedals and wheel with the traction control, etc turned down.I'll have a dig at Pro and see how i go on.
May even try with the wheel and pedals to see how that works.May be a little confusing though
