How do I tell my boss that my vacatiaon has been delayed. I will cancel my vacation and put them around xmas so I can do some nice things with my wife and children.

Day booked off work, have the weekend off.

Going to get Signature and Collector's Edition.

Going to either go to my friend's house or he's going to come to my house and we're going to do, if possible, a 24 hour endurance race (even if we have to just have to set it for infinite time trial) on the Nordschleife in a GT-R with each of us taking shifts to drive it, only swapping when pitted, no pausing. Maybe need more people though! :D

Don't know what I am doing for launch day anymore, but for some reason I know what I am doing November 2nd... not picking up my pre-order of gt5!
 
my b-day is on 5th december and i have holidays from the 22th dec to 11 jan.

So i only hope it gets out before the 22th now

If I planned to take off work on the original release day, I would just tell them I can come in now and reschedule my time off.

Although this is the very reason why I didnt take off this game, I refuse to believe the game is coming out until I see it on a shelf. No way am I planning anything around this game.
 
Origionally it was that TDU2 would hold me till GT5 which would have probably held me till I was working again (or at least a few months). Right now it's likley I will be working before GT5 comes out which is a very unexpected turn of events. I thought I would have been playing GT5 full time for a couple months.

I'll likley spend most of my free alone time playing it but I don't honestly know if I'll manage it so I have more free time to do so. I try my best to be visiting friends and family. 3 years out in the sticks unemployed, with no car, no busses, and very infequent visitors means I have played games to death, everything you can do stuck in one place with no companey. With some exceptions I hate TV.

My plans are the same though. Get it as early as possible the day it's out and spend all my free time playing it at least till the initial appeal wears off and something else gets my attention. I'll likley be gifting many cars. If I am working again I might go in to work less the first month it's out to get my fix but I was unemployed so long I might just be more interested in working and being out of the house.

I have always been a gamer but I'm a picky one so finding a game I like is difficult. 3 years with games being one of the only things I find entertaining alone at home and you can get very tired of them. I really hope GT5 with wheel + cockpit gives me the feeling games used to because right now it's my only hope for a game that will do it for me.

If not I'll be working again so it's all good.
 
My local EB games is not in a mall so I will probably wear a lot of winter clothes and hunker down near the front of the store.

I dont care if its -15c and there is a blizzard I will be at the store early.

I just bought an HDTV 32 inch LED for $220 (good price)
I bought a G25 for $100 a while back, I have a DFGT for $60 a while back
I have a desk and a chair.

all i need is GT5

I am in school right now, and am super busy, but I will be on a small thanksgiving break on the 24th.

Im prepared for an all nighter! Im excited. Been playing GT since my first playstation.
 
Now that we're closer and have an actual release, I can solidly chronicle my release day schedule.

4:40 - Wake up and go to work
6:00 to 2:00 - Work
2:45 - Get home from work after stopping by Gamestop and picking up my CE copy of GT5. I will set it up to install so that I can do my daily exercise.
3:00 to 4:30 - Exercise and shower
4:30 until 12:00 - Play GT5, taking breaks only for the bathroom and to eat a simple dinner.
 
This is too easy. I am on vacation from the 17-30. I plan to get some good sleep on the 22nd first off. On the 23rd, I will be lined up at 11:00-11:30pm with my laptop watching a movie in front of Best Buy waiting til they open. I will come home and shower and then I will go as long as I can til I slam my head on my g27 wheel. From there I will pull as many all nighters that I can. I will knock out my licenses first and then get down and dirty.

But yeah, now that it seems we have a release date (that's going to stick), and we're so close to it, I can see how much time I'll get to play the first few days: NOT MUCH!!

Haha... that's life, huh? We've got Thanksgiving the next day so my wife's not exactly going to be happy seeing my sit like a kid in my game room playing the game. Sure, I'll get a couple hours in the first day (Wednesday) after work, or probably late at night after everyone's asleep, but then it's all the preparation for the holiday and weekend. Plus it's my sister's birthday on the 24th so that'll be another thing to keep me away from the game.

I honestly won't get to splurge on the game till about Sunday, but then again, football's on so even that's going to be a half-hearted day. Oh well, it seems like the first weekend of December's going to be when I really get to work on the game.

So, Chikane, don't worry, you'll still have a 2 day head-start on me :)
 
Ships 24th overnighted, 1 day processing, 1 day to ship. 25th or 26th. Got to do Thanksgiving, so I guess friday will be GT5 day!
 
Ok so feel my pain...have had the CE preordered and fully paid off for damn near half a year now. However, I am in my first semester of law school and the release date just happens to be the week before finals start. So I am going to have to exercise every once of self control that I have.

I will be picking the game up at midnight of the 24th (assuming my Gamestop does a midnight release, as of now, they don't have one planned), bringing it home and setting it on top of the mantle so that it can provide me motivation to kick some hardcore ass on my finals. (Light at the end of the tunnel technique). My last final is at 9 am on December 9th and it is a 2 hour exam. Therefore, I will probably come home on the 9th and sleep for a solid 12 - 18 hours because by that point mental exhaustion will have definitely kicked in. Starting at 8 am on the 10th, I have 6 solid weeks of non-stop GT5 until the next semester of law school starts.
 
My friend won a copy of GT5 but he said he sent it to the guy across the street:grumpy:
Luckily I have a half-day at school: yay me!
