Do you live under a rock ? There is whole galaxy of GT stickers in world of racing. If you think this is only ad GT have try searching for sponsorships of GT or PD or Sony..

They probably spent more money on ads than development of GT5

He meant the 5 as in GT5, first time it is seen in advertisement/sponsorship.

They meant after 2005, when all we saw on the pescarolos were "Playstation" and "Gran Turismo" without the 5. Here's a few examples:

The GT-Ones were the reason why we have LMPs today.
The cars aren't that similar anymore when you take away the roof.
I still remember the statement from the GT-One designer after he saw the Bentley Speed 8, it was something like "hey, that's my car driving there".

EDIT: To be honest, the Lola Aston Martin LMP1 reminds me a lot more of the GT-One, because it doesn't have such a huge F1-ish nose.

Yeah the Bentley Speed 8 had most in common with the Toyota GT-ONE. The front area with the open wheel wells were pretty much lifted from the Toyota.

the Bentely speed 8 was my favorite car in GT4.it was inbelievable,so fast so easy to drive,like a F1!!
