What time do you want to race on Sundays?

Howzabout either GT3 or D-Class?

If Shift 2 still works at all in 2 weeks, of course. At the moment I wouldnt bet money on it. :grumpy:
 
I drive anything from Legends to GT. If we can keep it under PI 2000 would be great (just because the game tends to freeze not because I can't drive them... just to be clear :lol:)
 
...just a thought, how about some city track races with lower PI Retro and Legends cars? Might minimize the ricochet effect.
 
Whenever you guys see me online Feel free to invite.

Just make sure you give me time (couple of minutes)to join. Its not like Polaroids... it takes a bit of time to join because I need to stop the race I'm doing, wait for the save, blah, check invites, waiting for joining the session... you know the drill.

Many times I've miss invites because of this.

Now I can stop whatever i'm doing since I finally did the Endurances and got me a new M3 GT ALMS :D - AWESOME CAR 👍

PS: IF we race in D class... Is Nitro Allowed? I personally don't like it but I use it if needed be.
 
The D-Classes could be fun on smaller tracks. C-Classes would be a blast. GT3 would be great as well.

As long as we keep it going, I am down for anything.

This was just before my vacations and it wasn't talked about any more. How are we on this?

A poll might be in order? I'd like to remember one situation that must be accounted for while deciding:

I was playing online when I fly by a fellow racer in a straight. He was coming out of a crash with a one of those "other kind of racers". I barely got the time to move away but I did it almost crashing my self. I did not touch him (at least nothing indicated that) when in the mirror I saw him roll all over the place... Since there was no one else, I thought WFH??

I know the guy had a 4xxms latency but hey, my car should've suffer as well or he shoud've been OK.

And like Zeeco said, a race its not won in the first corner 👍
 
I don't know yet how many laps you guys racing, but if you stretch distance a few more laps, that could give a lot of opportunities to change racing tactics. If you are fast and consistent racer then you don't have to win race in first corner. 👍

@ Rommie: We agreed that its up to everybodys common sense when to use reset. If other are approaching behind you, its not wanted if you would be reset in front of them and distract them. If you are all by yourself, then its up to you.

Edit @ all/Zeeco: Since y' all kindly agreed to do the races a bit earlier this week for me - thanks a lot again - what time shall we set? 6pm GMT? 7 pm GMT?

My comments In order of presentation:

1- Try endurance races. You're probably more consistent than you know. I surprised my self doing several laps in within the same second. My best laps are usually up 5 seconds faster depending on the track.

2- I'm OK with that.

3- whichever everyone chooses. I'm OK with both times

Yeah. 10 laps half-marathons 👍 would be cool and give plenty of time for everyone to catch up. Consistency is the key and follow long enough behind the car in front and at one turn a mistake will happen. If not its better to finish a race than ruin both player's fun.

BEST drive in the game, shame it isn't competitive in any class...but it's a joy to drive!!!:)
 
Hey Rommie, guess what?! Just today, I did my first endurance race, in my beloved S3 at Road America - though I was spun out 2 times by the AI, I still won it by a landmark and by going really smooth on purpose. Just missed 2 break points in 20 laps and my tires were still almost green at the end. But I have actually no idea if my time was competitive...

Anyway, I d love to have longer races, just not this sunday of course! :D Maybe for the legend gran finale next week?

I should be on by 6PM PST/MST today, maybe earlier if I can extricate myself from the task at hand.

Porsche at Spa is very slippery, I'll need to practice with that one.

Gearing is difficult too, with no gear tuning it runs out on the main straight.

We will start at 6pm GMT....I think it will give you some time for a beauty sleep :lol:

PS: You might wanna update the OP then. I dont want to be responsible for any confusion and drama with people missing the races because of your kindness for my sleep!
 
I have to thank some guys - arvore, Vaxxtx, JogoAsobi, fatkrakr - the wonderful races today (actually during all night :lol:) for practice. If I forgot someone please excuse me as I only slept a couple of hours after went to bed at 6am :sick:

Anyway, I leave a note here for Sunday: If I disconnect while we race around Mount Panorama its because the game freezes braking for the first corner. I tried twice last night so continue without me if such thing happens even on the 1st lap.

Vaxxtx: your Porsche is tuned beautifully. It drives just like mine but with a more solid rear end and just a bit less of top speed while getting there faster :nervous:

I have a lot to learn, you guys are fast! I don't stand a chance Sunday.

Hats off to avore and RomKnight who pulled all nighter due to time difference.

Vaxxtx: I would really like to get ahold of your Porsche and BMW tunes! They are awesome!

I see that I wont stand a chance tomoro... But y' all know what? I did something better than tuning my cars today! I went to the Solitude Revival, saw nearly all the Legends Cars live and in action! The BMW CSL Grp5 sound with misfires while shifting down is insane, you could hear it from miles away... Saw a Group of 914/6s, 911 RSR galore, a bright orange Escort MK1, race specced Guilias, two Capris, a GT40, Cobras, a Shelby Mustang, E-Types... The only Shift cars missing were the Cobra Coupe, the Datsuns and the Cortina.

Also lots of breathtaking non-Shift cars: A Jag D-Type!!! 917s!!! At least 20 60s Formula 1 Cars, 60s Le Mans cars, the New Stratos, a fleet or Rallye Stratos, a Pantera with the gnarliest roar of a street legal car I ever heard, a SLR McLaren that could shake the earth with its grumble... Lots of Abarths, Mustangs, old Mercs, pre-war racecars... Whoa! What a motorgasmic day! :D

Those vids aint mine, just to clarify - but it was quite close to where we stood. Maybe 5 m from the road directly after a hilltop, in a slight curve. When the Pantera and the Lotus 72 accelerated directly next to us I think some liquid Junior FLXs escaped!

Edit: I just looked through the video I posted myself, turns out there were 2 Cobra Daytonas and I just somehow missed them?!? What the... how the... why the... WAAAAAAAAH!!! Looks like I gotta go there again tomoro afternoon despite not having much time at all. Another good reason to go there: Tomoro there will be... The silver arrows. The ones from the 30s! *shivers, drools*
