Instead of writing down my times and finishing position, as I thought Zeeco needed, I have been taking screenshots. It may be a good idea for everyone to do the same to support any discrepancies in the future. Maybe there is a bug in the results as shown to each racer.

Yep thats definitely a good idea , because something strange happened last night at my end thats for sure .

As soon as I learn photoshop I shall provide the screens showing me in first. And you all shall weep.

:)

I know how to use Photoshop and I m willing to use it to get Europe back into the continental trophy where Texas went all George W. on us yesterday! :D

There were a few issues last night, but fun anyway. First of all, I could not get musomaniak and RacerPaul to join the chat room. I tried several times but no luck. I think it is very odd that UK members could not join as there were no problems previously. Something to do with our internet connections? I dont know.

Fatkrakr was disconnected and could not rejoin. It was a shame, as all the practice and tuning were all for nothing. I hope you can sort it out mate. I had a freeze at the start of the first race. Bang frozen screen and a wheel rattling like a snake on steroids. I had no choice but to eject and load again.

The question of resetting after a spin or accident? I was behind Vaxxtx, fighting for the last place in Race 2 and all went t'ts up for Vaxx when a car appeared from nowhere in front of him. There was nothing Vaxx could do but hit the car and spun out. I passed and could see Vaxx a long way behind, so I slowed down, let him pass and the two of us had a good laugh racing for last place. So it is a problem when someone resets. It can cost you a place or spoil your race for that matter.

My suggestion is that we ban the reset for the next meeting (unless you are in last place and it does not really matter). Caution must be excercised in rejoining. Check the track map and be aware of who is behind you and where they are. Rather wait a few seconds and prevent a pile up. I leave this up to you guys...I am open for any suggestions regarding the reset button, but let's sort it out before Sunday's race.

Screen shots of the results is a good idea as bmwisme said in his post. That is how I record the results. How musomaniak's 2nd place showed up as a 3rd on my screenshot, is a mystery to me. I however have to post the results as it shows up on my screen, otherwise it is going to cause a serious headache for me trying to verify each and every place.

Well enough said on the problems. Congratulations to the polesitters and in particular TexasTyme. Three wins in 3 races....and with a controller. WTF !!! Texas you must surely be one of the fastest racers in the world with that controller. I can just say well done mate, but have mercy on us mortals next time. FLX good racing mate, I hope you will join again on Sunday.

North America has taken a significant lead in the Continental Trophy. Europe needs all the support it can get now. Rom I hope you can help on Sunday. We need to find some inspiration somewhere :scared:

Oh yes, RomKnight to the rescue! :D

One more question about resets: What if I have a major accident, flip etc behind a blind turn and I can see cars coming onto me on the map that are very likely to hit me because my wrecked car is in the middle of the road. We dont have track marshals to warn us so... reset then or let the others crash into you?

Because thats exactly what happened with you guys in the second race, that car was me. I crashed and was hit when my car was sliding back on track - 2 times!

Good question!! I think it is just common sense to reset then. In similar situations where there is a big gap between racers it is up to the discretion of yourself to decide " am I going to cause a pile up or what "

And I finally had a front row starting position:boggled: At half track I thought I had dusted everyone until I looked up and saw only 2 racers. I should have known better :)

Ok,

First of all I know Texas times around the tracks because he has 1st place on my autolog on almost all events. I warned he's a hell of a racer 👍 I wouldn't do much to improve morale against him :ouch:

Second, If I always start next to last (as previous race), it'll be difficult for me to get 1st place because, one thing is doing hot laps, another thing is being in a middle of a crowd where you can hit the guy in front 5m away (depending on the lag between racers not the game as far as I can tell)

Third, its more important for us to get used to this because pile ups CAN be avoided. So race online often and get the hang of it.

Fourth, when you reset the car it stays like a ghost for a few seconds in my online experience (I pass through a few already). So if i'm without wheels on the track reset button should also be used to avoid pile ups. One should take care to move off the race line immediately.

Fifth, In my last online experience I also notice 80% of the people tried to be fair BUT can't hold the line. Its difficult to give position away but I think if those "without the right of passage" fall back to the racing line and try proper passing manoeuvres accidents will be reduced. The purpose of the herd its to form a line after the start not racing side by side after the first corner thus preventing the use of the reset button.

6th I'm against the removal of the reset button for the sole reason of the lack of the pace car and/or marshals to remove a car from the track 💡

Seventh, we, as a group, should race more often (there's RL in the way but hey...). After a few races we should get to know each other better and do the above properly (I did this in RL and it works)

8th... I need some sleep. Too much work and no play makes me a zombie boy :grumpy:

Hey Fuzzy Fassbender (what a name, btw :D ), who are you? Didnt catch your name in the race... Did I just miss you or are you an alternative nick to somebody in my friends list?

Thats bmwsq2.

Thats bmwsq2.

Thanks Vaxxtx for clarifying, sorry guys! FuzzyFassbender = bmwisme (bmw2sq). I created a new PS3/PSN/GTP ID for testing S2U but now may eventually be moving to this new ID. I forgot I was on GT Planet for the first time under my "alter ego":dunce:

EDIT: I don't plan living as a double-agent or under the witness protection program! bmwisme for now...

10th  I agree with Romknight , we should definatley race more often . Can we not organise some practise meetings ? 👍👍

Just a thought too . I'm not really into the career mode of shift , i get more enjoyment with the autolog , or racing against real people . The problem with online racing though is the kamikaze randoms wiping out everything that moves :nervous:
I only had roughly 2 hours practise out of the whole of last week , basically because i can't be bothered to go online for the reasons previously stated , and after a while even the autolog becomes tedious .I think i have been spoilt with our sunday racing meets which i really enjoy .

So as i say if we can organise some weekly practises , it would definately increase my time at the wheel . i also have to split my time between my clan on bc2 , and my new band which is in the process of learning a whole new set

Any ideas anyone ??

Howzabout just posting training dates here?

I mean thats a thread all participants check out regularily, no?

Today I can't. This RL thing is messing with my nerves

I won't arrive home before 11pm for sure. (GMT+1)

9th you are very grumpy when you are tired :lol::lol:

Also true :D

[edit]

I messed up the post date, tomorrow will be fine for me. Count me in 👍

Oh btw, since I m sure most of you didnt even see it flashing by :D , this is my RSR... I really hope we can re-use that car for the grand finale! :dopey:

re: The re-set button...
Doesnt matter whos fault it is that cause a collision, all it does it make issues for the people coming up from behind
We should probably vote or something because I sure as hell want it banned from online. It got me 3 times in race 2
Sunday. Was driving, saw 2 cars crash, move over to the left, and BAM, car spawns in front of me and I am hit now too

I wish they would have diabled that button in online to begin with
Regardless of what you want, I'll continue to use the re-set button when I'm smacked off the track through no fault of my own

If it should come to pass that re-setting is banned in our league, I will of course go along with that because it would be a rule

Thats fine. There is no rule against it as of now. Just remember getting knocked off the track is part of the game, sadly more than one should due to the collision detection.

As frustrating as it is to get spun out, its just as frustrating to hit someone that poped up in middle of the track doing 30mph, when you moved to aviod that same car that was off in the grass to the right 2 seconds ago.

Not makign a jab at you, just saying dont ruin anothers race because someone ruined yours.

@ vaxxtx: Its a pain in the youknowwhat. The 8 is made by 2 white circles on top of 2 black circles. No matter how hard you try, you can never perfectly align them. The 1 is a rectangle obviously.

@ muso. If you want your ride pimped please refer to Mr. X to the Z! :D I dont want to spend any single minute more in this stupid livery editor that I absolutely have to... Actually I cant even use its full 'potential' because it never saves angles right. So I have to stick to straight geometrical forms. :ouch:

I tried to made a simple 0 and about shot myself in the head.
