I just ran it. You should be able to run 4:15-4:25 laps. Take corners GENTLY, her strength is all in the straights. She also gets fantastic mileage.

The suspension and probably the gearbox need some work.

Had a little bad luck on weather first go and ran out of laps (unexpected six laps instead of the usual seven - needed that extra lap). But I can tell it's competitive. Also should have ran her harder in first stint, as you mentioned about fuel mileage.

Definitely need to be gentle on the throttle. And she's not great in the wet, although I did pass a lot of the field on IMs in the rain.

Very doable. Thanks!

Nice! I've got one left: the Alfa 8c and I honestly don't care if I get it or not. I'm sure I will when I have the credits, but I won't be grinding or waiting on it. You went the smart route and had an exciting car to close out the LCD, while I went the stupid route and saved one of the worst for last, lol
Thanks man…. Yep it feels good to own every car in LCD now I don’t have to worry about grinding and can grind at my own pace… it was tough because the cars come out on a certain date and you have to have the cash before it sells out… and even if you have the money you have to wait for it to release… the Daytona coupe and barker tourer were two cars I was waiting for… saved up 32 million for both but they never released so I just kept saving and the tourer came out eventually and nothing else so saved up to 59 million and finally got the shelby yesterday…

You will get the Alfa Romeo 8c just have to be patient for when it releases… just save until it releases… but after buying all the expensive cars in LCD this one made me feel the worst after buying… I was like 20 million for this slow car lol… it looks great though…

Once I buy all the cars in the game then I can finally just enjoy the game for what it is… I didn’t drive any of my cars yet… only ones I drove were to finish the café books…still have to do the new books that came out last month

Anyone got a Le Mans 700 tune for the Ferrari 250 GT '61? Got it up to 678pp. Good power but unruly.
Here's what I've been using which is a modified tune of the stock 250 GTO settings:

Suspension:
145 145
10 1
31 26
47 48
3.15 2.85
2.0 2.5
\/0.10 /\0.20

LSD 10/7/34

Ballast: 41 at the rear for 50:50 weight distro.

Didn't do anything special with the transmission gearing. Just set it to where the top speed on gear 5 was around 345km/hr and then lengthened the first couple gears so that there's a little less wheel spin coming out of slow corners.

This is my in-progress build so it's not as good as it could be. Had one that was pretty solid and thought I'd saved it and created a new sheet but I guess I didn't, lol. Still pretty decent imo, though a little stiff. Trying to work some of the "play" back in at the moment, but if you want a little more oversteer/turn-in lower the front ride height to maybe 142. Can also try like a \/0.12 /\0.18 toe (front, rear, or both)

When I get around to fixing it I'll update it, though hopefully Praiano drops a tune for it as he's far better at tuning than I'll ever be.

Oh, and setup the LSD the way you prefer, specifically the brake sensitivity. I just ran a quick lap with it and it would probably be better at a 32 for sensitivity, but it's largely down to how one drives. Some would probably prefer 40 or higher.

I'm curious on peoples' opinions here. The Daytona is currently available and presumably the 917K is coming soon. I rarely drive race cars, but I have a lot of the 'must-haves' already. This might turn out to be a moot point as my Ferrari invite expires in 6 days and that's $6M right there for the Enzo and FXX-K. I might need that extra $3M savings from the 917.

So, Daytona or 917?

I'm looking forward to pick up the 917, as it's new to the franchise. That's one reason to buy. Another is, there's a possibility we get its Le Mans rival Ferrari 512 S at some stage.
917k is fun and terrifying at the same time. Some may not like it but I'm biased since I'm a Porsche fan lol

I usually take it for a hot lap around Le Mans or Nurburgring, the latter though is scary to drive on.

Yeah, I'd like to try it for myself after reading some these stories.

It'll be the last Porsche I need for the whole collection. ;)

They're both great. Both have 200/200 downforce and both can have too much power for their chassis at the highest upgrade levels. Daytona is a more traditional ride, much more controllable than the Cobra 427 and pretty easy to tune. 917k is fast, almost too fast as it looks and feels like it should be a Gr. 1 car, but given its limited downforce its easy to lose it on corners by carrying way too much speed. It sits really low and almost feels like an open-wheel, and this makes it a little "scarier" as others put it. They're both capable at 700PP (not even sure if the Daytona reaches 700PP, but it still wins at Sarthe) and not much higher than that.

Can't really go wrong with either, but I'd say the 917k is more unique and more capable when you get used to it. Daytona is kind of similar to the GT40's (in a good way) but is far from unique in the game. I'd say just grind out the money for both since you probably have two weeks until the 917k cycles in/out, but that's a LOT of grinding, so I'd prob put the Daytona on the back-burner.

I feel like the Daytona isn't worth 20 mil. Like you said, 917k is more unique and just all around a proper scary race car and that one was 18 mil (iirc).

Well, there's a lot of valid, compelling reasons to go for the Porsche. I tried to quote, but my phone made a mess of it.

It would put me close to completing the collection, my final Porsche from the LCD at least.

Scary isn't necessarily a bad thing. I kind of like the feeling of being in a go-kart sometimes. It's a bit unnerving to sit so low, but that makes it kind of exhilarating too.

I completely agree that it's not worth $20M, they use that number a bit too liberally for my taste. The first one I drop 20 on will be the 250, but I'm a huge Ferrari fan. As a Porsche enthusiast, I wouldn't feel that bad forking over 17, especially if it allows me to close out my Ferrari invites.

Thanks for all your thoughts guys.

According to the GT Planet LCD spreadsheet, the 917K should be available approx. August 16th. So you have about a month to grind.

A couple races a night on a good payout race and you (i) should have plenty for the 917K and the McClaren F1 road car which will also be released around August 16th ... figure I need 37M to get both ...

It's scary in a good way absolutely. It's not frustrating but it's rewarding when you drive it just right.

Do you think that u spoil the car if u put a weight reduction? Mod that u cannot cancel. U lose the original car then permanently and if car prize is 17-20 million. Thats a big thing.

I’m looking hard at my ‘61 for that exact reason right now. For the vintage cars at least, it troubles me more and more when I do something that can’t be reversed.

Depends what you use it for. If you use it as a "tool" to win races, maybe. Personnaly I farm my credits with the Aston VGT in Tokyo, and most of my driving is comparing cars on different tracks in time trial mode. Therefore I do no weight reductions at all.

Q: How do you make a car go faster, stop faster, handle better, and get more out of tyres/fuel all in one move?
A: "Add Lightness" - C.C.

If given the option, I always reduce as much weight as allowed on any car I care about. I wouldn't ever consider adding ballast even if you paid me to. YMMV :)

IMO 917k is overal the better option. But there is still a few weeks until its suposed to arrive. You have a bit of time to do some farming and get enought cash for both.

If you are working against a pp limit, lightening a car doesn't work well for fast tracks, as you will lack the power for a high top speed.

Aston VGT, is that a good option for Tokyo money grinding?

Do you have a good tune for it?

There are cars where adding weight actually improves their performance. Example: tokyo wtc600, with a ford mustang boss '67. Adding weight to the rear actually made the car stable drivable and a valid option for this track.

Definitely. Redistributing the F40s balance makes it a much nicer drive to me.

Is it really that liberal? Only 5 cars have a price tag that is, or near 20 million and they're all justified. Only 6 original Daytona's, 10 Alfa Romeo 8C Touring's, 36 250 GTO's and less than a hundred Road going F1's were ever produced and the 917 is the genesis of Porsche's unmatched racing success.

@ddm's website tracks price changes of cars, but I think you can only look at them when they're available currently?
If you want any car's price history, go to:

replacing XXX with the car ID as found in this list

Sorry there's not an easier way of doing it, full car data is something I want to add to the site but it'll take a lot of time & I just haven't had the time to do it. (and all the other things I should add to the site too...)

None of them are justified unless I can sell my digital copy for a fortune. It's a game... Besides, the GTO would be like 60mil if it was "realistic" so they've shot that all to hell long ago.

Aston VGT, is that a good option for Tokyo money grinding?

Do you have a good tune for it?
Yes, is easy to handle and you don't have to stop.
Not much to tune, Sports Hard, the stock suspension gearbox and diffs aren't tunable and you just have to fiddle with ECU, restrictor and ballast to get under 600pp. Personally I can't do some dazzlling times as some people post, but can easiy coast to win.

You're missing out on some better driving cars then, lol.

I’m looking hard at my ‘61 for that exact reason right now. For the vintage cars at least, it troubles me more and more when I do something that can’t be reversed.
It loses weight amazing well. I have two of them, and the GTO. Get the '61 it's the better, faster, & better sounding car... Once you finally get the 250 GTO you'll be highly letdown like I was as it feels like PD just made the GTO from the GT. Idk, both are great but ~9mil cred version is the superior version.

Edit: you're talking about weight reductions on the car you have, not whether to buy it. Really need to double-check what I'm replying to until I've had my morning coffee!

I get what you're saying about wanting to have it remain stock-ish and I'd highly recommend getting a second for that reason. However, if you don't want to grind another 9mil cred's, I can assure you that performing the weight reductions does not change the way it drives or handles. There are very few cars I've done every upgrade/mod to, but the 250 GT is one of them. The beauty in it is one can apply the the GTO's stock tune and it works great. Not a 1:1, but really close when you match the weight/power on each. If I were to perform the chassis stiffness upgrade to on the GT I think they would be 1:1.

Yes, I have heard that the ‘61 is the superior car for use in-game (indeed, I really like the car and it is competitive), but I can’t justify buying a 2nd to keep stock in a garage before I get the 250. You are definitely right about the sound, I pulled it out a few days back and that lovely Tipo has an operatic voice!
