The thread is active, and there are lots of ideas, I'll see if I can remember them all:
BTK, I like the idea of people picking their teammate(s). I don't want it to be completely random. I just don't want all the top drivers to pick each other and leave the rest of us out.
Again, we are just kicking around ideas. None of this is set, yet. We may come up with better ideas by the end of this season (another three weeks).
And yes, we all know you want Diabolic.

If we did three man teams, then it could be you, Diabolic, and Cujo. You'd have two As and a B.
As to Specific Parts at Specific Points: I don't like the idea. I know I can't tune a suspension, so I save my money for more power. I spent 30K this week on Engine Tuning - Stage 3. Someone better than me would've gotten the fully customizable suspension. Suzuka a very hard course with the HP I have. The understeer gets worse and worse with more power. A good set up could tame that and make the car much faster than 30 extra horses.
That idea does go back to a reason why I like the team idea. These two seasons have helped me become a better driver. Being teamed with some that can actually tune a suspension might help me learn how to do that, too.
Just a quick tangent, if we did teams, maybe we'd want to have the races every two weeks, so teams have time to practice. That would make a six race series last three months, though. I'm okay with that, but I'm older than most people here. My life is pretty stable in its routine.
Missing a race: Something else I was thinking was the idea of stand-in drivers. If you know you are going to miss the race, gift your car to someone (preferable from the Wednesday series or the 450 group) and have them race for you. I would say we limit how many times you can do this. To keep you from doing it too often for extra points. I don't mind replacement drivers when you can't make it. I just don't want you pulling a Jr. and calling Boris Said because you can't handle the road course.
