Garris, did you get my parts list? I sent it via msg in the game.

Edit: less than 48hrs left to get your car ready! I'm feeling good about this one... Got a consistent 1'40.xxx laptime going, with decent tire wear...

Wow....Thats only 10 sec. a lap faster than me. Whats your PP now?

Dayum! I'll be lucky if I can break into the 1:49s...but I haven't messed with mods yet.

around 482 with low downforce right now, maxes at 485 with it cranked... I'm set up to hit 270kph on the back straight @ La Sarthe. I think I was running 4'38s there.

I don't really care about where I place at Monaco, but I won't be trying to come anything less than 1st! If I don't get any cash out of this race, I'm gonna be ok, I think.

I've realised that I might as well sacrifice handling for performance at this point.. :P

This is pretty much what this series is about. The better drivers end up with quick cars that are completely unstable...while the less experienced drivers have good handling cars that are super fast...but that doesn't make up for tire wear and bad driving. It just forces every driver to race their best.

Tonight I've got to make some decisions with both my Tuesday and Wednesday cars. Do I add more power? Or do I dial in the suspension so I don't end up in a wall at Monaco. Any handling improvements will almost guarantee a poor finish at le Sarthe...but then again, even small improvements in speed might not help me at le Sarthe.

I decided to at least go with the fixed sport suspension...better than nothing! I've been trying to keep it balanced so that I can drive a 'fast' car well, instead of (as you noted) just put it in a wall..

If there's any cash to spend from monaco, I'll go for a new exhaust for a bit more power, or some window weight reduction and a 2 plate clutch. I like to live on the wild side...

I don't expect to do well at Monaco. My goal will be to avoid wrecking. I did manage to do a 1:49.9 tonight, but most of my laps will be 1:54-1:55, if I'm lucky. I really want to save the tires. The race should be 45-50 laps.

I put down a lap at La Sarthe just out of curiosity. I did a 4:37.9. I do expect I will be able to just a little bit faster as I get used to the track again. I did 173 down the first Mulsanne. With a draft, it is obvious that I will hit the rev limiter. I still have 20,000 Cr. to spend, not counting what I win at Monaco (likely another 30,000 Cr.). If I do opt for some more weight reduction or the High RPM turbo, I may have to swap out the stock tranny.

The last time I was at La Sarthe I was in an Impreza with a spoiler. This Talon is scary on the fourth Mulsanne. The road is bumpy and the turns are just enough that if I don't hit it right things go crazy.

173mph without the high rpm turbo installed yet?? Nice. Should be interesting next week, then!

I'm really looking forward to it - I enjoyed driving in the dark, thoroughly.

Current best time for the skyline around 1:48 dead.. average laps times following better driver 1:48.9 - 1:49.9

My upgrade list is going to be a few hours late. I've been really busy these past few days.

Still no Internet but new modem should be in today. This is the second modem in two weeks. I'll send parts list shortly.

As for times.
Last week's car: 1.48.xxx Tires OK.
This week's car: x.xx.xxx Tires Great.

Can everyone who races with a controller please remap your horn button? The default setting is pushing down the left joystick...but drivers that use that stick to steer often slam the horn down when they take tight turns. Guess what Monaco is filled with? That's right, tight turns.

Thanks for reminding me. I don't like that honking crap.

GeezerG

I never did have that problem. Lol, if you hear me honking, it's intentional. :lol; Have to throw the other guy off somehow.

I haven't done a single online lobby lap yet...but offline I'm around 1:49. The suspension on the MR2 was quite good last week, but this week is another story. The hard brake zones take tons of weight off the rear tires and even with low brake balance settings the tail likes to come around on entry. I fear my tire situation will be the opposite of the FF crowd as I will burn up the rears with any missed brake zone.

I dropped the weight, added a Cat, and installed a spoiler. That should give me a little more speed up the hill, some help in the corners, and hopefully enough downforce to keep the rear end in check.

I'll be quick through casino and the hairpins, but the straights and the chicane will be where my car is at a disadvantage. I can load the suspension nicely for the slow speed switchbacks, but the quick jerk of the wheel through the chicane causes major whiplash.

50 laps is going to be VERY entertaining.

50 laps? I see many pit stops, and atleast 5 people laps down from crashing.

I don't have to win the race, I just want to beat those five people.

With the leaders running around 1:48 lap times, the race will be just over 90 minutes. I have a suspicion that some drivers might be able to run 1:45s in the draft.

And yes...there will be drivers making unplanned pit stops to repair damage and others attempting to drive with minor damage...but if you've got a slower car, keep in mind that you can run a second or two slower per lap and come out ahead if you stay out of the pits.

As a reminder, if you hit a wall and end up blocking the track, please shout out so others coming up behind you don't slam head on into your car. There are a ton of blind corners and since we don't have track side officials to throw out yellow flags we have to police ourselves. I know not everyone has a mic, so if you see someone biff it behind you, give a shout out for them.

Focus. Speed. I am speed. One winner, forty-two losers. I eat losers for breakfast. Breakfast? Maybe I should have had breakfast? Brekkie could be good for me. No, no, no, focus. Speed.

can we please test my mic when we get in later ? I'll text chat something and then say it... :P

I second this. We ran Monaco last night in the 450 room. Coming down the front straight, there was someone on my right trying to overtake me. As we get to Sainte Devote, we come on a car that was nosed into the wall and unable to move.

He was on the right.

I got by cleanly.

The guy beside me didn't.

I just don't see 1.45's with two cars. That would mean no mistakes between both drivers and a perfect lap. If people are struggling to get better than a 1.48, and there is maybe a mile of track you could push. I understand the tunnel a the hill, but there are two huge brake points after each of them. Just saying...

Also. UPS GET HERE SO I CAN RACE

I'll have my upgrades in a bit. Sorry for the lateness.

Well if we run 1:48s it'll still be a 91-92 minute race.

I'm just thinking if I can run 1:50, some of the drivers with significantly more power should be laying down much faster lap times. Whether they can do that consistently is another thing.

if I win the race running consistent 1:50s it'll be a 96 minute race...but I don't see my car winning.

No upgrades for me this week, adding power just cooks my tires faster. I'm gonna keep the same setup and see what happens. My main objective is just to finish above chuyler and I think I'm fast enough to do that.

Wreck him! That will be better for both of us. XD

My car is...more ready. Lets go racing!

I'm getting ready for some carnage...

I'm painting my car a bright color in preparation.
