ok before the latest update i loved driving my 70 dodge challenger. it sounded so mean.

since the update, no matter what sound setting i try in game or with my tv, i still am only able to get engine sound in bumper cam and cockpit through the right speaker. i always use cockpit so it really kills the fun and thrill of this car. and this car is fully tuned with dual exhaust coming out right before the back tire, so this cant be a "pipe position" situation. even if a car had single exhaust, you should still be able to hear the engine with both ears, not just one. this car went from badass, to wimpy.

upon reading comments from previous threads, this isnt the only car to have this issue. i propose we use this thread to list any and all cars you come across that has unbalanced engine sounds. lets help PD identify the cars with problems, because it really takes away from the fun and feeling of power. plus its really annoying driving hours with just the right channel working for the engine while the sound track and everything else works fine. kinda throws my equilibrium off.

so the first car on the list is............

Dodge Challenger 1970 R/M fully tuned.

The Nascars on in car view are ultraquiet now (on Daytona Superspeedway you almost can't hear the engine with the wind noise) and your own car gets drowned out by the sounds of the others when passing. also found a smilar problem with the Formula GT cars.

Hi

i think they need to turn down the wind noise in a lot of cars as this might solve the problem with most.

Yep like the MP4, I was driving it on La Sharte around 360km/p and I heard sometype of jet car/plane noise in the cockpit move and on the roof cam.

i think its everyone's different speaker/stereo setup causing the problems. I don't know exactly what has happened here but MINE WORKS FINE WITH ALL OF THESE CARS AND A FEW OTHERS I HAVE SEEN LISTED. For example a few people have said the Peugot 908, went and tried it, it hadn't changed. Your Dodge Challenger I went and bought did everything to it like you have stated, sounded like a deep V8 still. The MP4-12C is the same result, in my game (not saying yours is stuffed up) all my cars and the sound effects sound the same as they did before.

I have to agree. Most of the people complaining about engine sounds are only using tv's for audio. When using a Spoon S2000 with only TV audio and using the roof cam, I can't hear the engine. When I use my receiver and external speakers I can. To me if your using just your TV for audio its like only using the rca cables instead of a HDMI cable for video, your not utilizing its full potential. TV speakers are very limited in there frequency range.

Can't think of any problems/change with sound. I run 7.1 DTS surround setup.

But, always had a problem with a Honda (some 4 cyl.) sounding beefier than a 2010 Camaro SS

If you run GT5 thru just a HDTV, turn off all artifical sound settings. I turned off the SRS surround sound, and a few other settings. Now it sounds like pre 2.02 now. I also changed the audio setting in the game itself to tv speakers from large theater. That will boost engine sounds and nearly eliminate wind noise. But some cars are still quiet tho. 2005 Impreza and GT-R 2012 are too quiet for me tastes.

I also had issues with unbalanced sound and was sad that this great game was let down by its new sound model, but after searching the web I found as possible solution? I posted the results of my findings (sorry ps3 won't cut n paste the link, search for possible sound solution) the sounds of the cars, tire screech, other cars and wind noise sound so much better I do only run GT5 through 2.1 speaker setup at the moment and most people with 5.1 or 7.1 seem unable to correct it, maybe a more advanced sound menu option to match speaker setups would help?

i am using a pioneer 5.1 sound htib. still no dice no matter what i do.

I am using my tv speakers! nothing has changed after the update. Stop blaming it on the update itself when clearly it is everyones different speaker/stereo setup! Look it up on the web for solutions, there will be plenty out there. There is no issue with the game or update itself, look into it abit more next time.

How much BHP haze your MP4? Mine haze about 980BHP with a few oil changes.

Not Quite sure because that is the 1st time I have driven it for a while. It has all the body parts added from gt auto, everything possible done to it in the parts shop and racing medium tyres. I haven't done any oil changes or engine overhauls yet.

Maybe thats the difference mine is fully tuned.

Mine is fully tuned. It just hasn't had any oil changes or engine overhauls. It is all to do with peoples speakers/stereo setup not the game/update.
Mine haze everything on it, @ engineoverhauls and about 3 oil change's I think.
There is nothing with my speakers ( internal TV speakers ). I don't have any strange noise accept the MP4.

well you can't blame the update because clearly 90% of people have no issue. Why don't you go look into your type of tv or speakers. That might give you an answer because no one knows whats happened to the select few that are having issues.

I'm not blaming the update I just love the update. I'm not gonna look for my speakers for just an car thats not reall. I'm just happy that I have sound:dopey:

I know it's been said, but I have to agree: the problem is not with the update: the problem is with your sound set ups. If you can, get some proper audio equipment (even an old stereo like I use makes a difference). If you can't, then deal with it. Do not go crying around blaming PD when it's up to you to make the difference.

dude my equipment is fine. most of the cars sound great, but a select few do not. im not whining. im giving pd some feedback so you can clearly go **** yourself.

I was in a drag room earlier & there were 2 mercialgos bouncing off the limiter & it sounded exactly like the siren from ecto 1!

Not sure if it happened because there were 2 of them & the sounds happened to mix the right way to make it happen or not (don`t own any lambos, so can`t check), but has anyone else noticed this, or anything similar?
