I made it!
Runnin' break-in races at Spa in the Mazda Roadster TC. Good to finally make it to 40 just when we got the DLC. I feel humbled this evening to join the ranks of the greatest drivers in the history of GT5 and look foreward to collecting what must be one of the most sought-after prizes in the game and...

Excuse me, I'm being told that I'm not special and that the only prize is a crappy trophy...

Made it last night. Legit because I don't do online (doesn't mix well with my meds).

Also got to level 28 B-Spec watching the gorgeous new R32 from the DLC.

A few stats regarding level 40:

It takes 34,634,713 experience points to go from level 0 to level 40

It takes more experience points to go from level 39 to level 40 than it does to go from level 0 to level 33
 
I've been level 40 in both A and B for many months. I only lack the last 24h enduro of having done and won all the A spec races, and all of the B spec are done.
 
Got this once I did the 24hr Le Mans race as soon as in race saves were introduced, and I'm about to get Level 40 B-Spec too :)
 
A spec lvl 40 since August
B spec lvl 40 since May

Tomorrow I will begin the last race (24h Nurburgring)

Level 40 in A and B spec because i grind the indy oval loads for cash in A spec.
And B spec bobs (all 4 up to now) are Level 40 thanks to me making them do the endurances races every night and i mean every night :D

Had to whack out 2x 4hr Nurburgring to get there, couldn't stand the wait! Thank god for 200% bonus! Quietly pleased......

Just finished this today over 4 miliion xp with the 200% bonus took me to level 37, gona do a lot more endurance races now that we can save when pitting so level 40 isn't far away.

Trust me, it is... :)
Took me ages to go from level 39 to 40, as that little red bar, wouldn't get close enough after every race :(
 
Currently sat at level 33 A-Spec, 30 B-Spec

It's going to take me a hell of a long time to hit 40 but I'm sure I'll get there :)

I suppose thats a good thing anyways as for some unknown reason i really wanna reach level 40 but i know when i do reach it i'll have less enthusiasm to do a-spec races and i need that ''getting to level 40'' motivation to keep me doing a-spec races otherwise i don't think i would touch a-spec ever again.
 
Got it this week.

Jumped from mid-level 38 to Level 40 after running Le Mans 24 Hours.

Hit level 40 half hour to an hour ago.

Hit it after getting beat around and finishing dead freaking last in an online race.
 
Got B Spec Lvl 40 a few days ago and A Spec Lvl 40 a week ago. The 200% bonus was a big help. Did a few 4HR Nurb Endurance for A spec and 1 Sarthe 24 Hr Bspec.

The snarky double-post was unnecessary. The edit button is there so you can insult two people with one post. Besides, there's a poll at the top asking people their A-spec level. I'm pretty sure it's acceptable to go ahead and post your current level. Mine's 39 by the way.

Yesterday saw the bar move over the half of 35, might drive a bit more in winter. (have several other accounts over 25, at the right times that was very easy)
 
I'm level 39 and a bit, have drove just under 80k and have still some way to go. Theres no rush though and havnt glitched it.
