I don't see why they wouldn't include crossplay. If they did, it would probably be locked to their subscription service.
It will be a similar situation as ACC. The console version (if that ever arrives at all) will be some updates behind the PC version at the release.
Also, the PC updates can and will be released faster than on the consoles as they need to be certified by Sony/MS.

I also don't think crossplay to PC will be possible.

Rennsport and PMR have console/PC crossplay and it works quite well (about the only thing that does on those games). It's possible if both versions are running the same physics and builds, so may not be a feature at console launch.

Crossplay would be possible for smaller events, I can't see consoles able to run with 60 other cars

Yeah but they were developed in-house, right? Plus released at the same time.
Both ACC and LMU are ports by a 3rd party developer with a significant delay

Console versions on track for early-to-mid 2027. They talked about pairing the release with a real-life motorsport event, so either the start of the WEC season or Le Mans 2027 itself would make sense.
