Hey guys, I'm having some major trouble with my G27 Shifter and going by the GT.com forums I'm not the only one. Basically, the game struggles to register 2nd gear. I thought it was me just being to quick on the gear change or not pressing the clutch in enough but I have been testing it and it keeps happening. Basically, when starting from a grid I leave the grid in 1st, lift off the gas, press in clutch, move the shifter to 2 and then the car just goes into neutral. I have to have two goes of getting the car into 2nd before it works. After that the car is fine and I can shift up though all the gears. If I am on a 1st gear corner and when I exit I go to switch up to 2nd the same thing happens, I have to have another go to egt it into gear. When coming down from 4th, 3rd or whatever when I reach 2nd again the same thing happens and it sticks in neutral. Like I said I tested it our on all the cars I have online and offline and its the same all the time. I bought the G27 for GT5 and am very annyed with it now. Can't belive Logitch's most expensive and comprehensive wheel isn't officially supported. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, i thought i was the only one with this problem. Happened to me in prologue too.

I've managed to "solve" it by forcing the shifter into the second gear more strongly (not too strong though), then it works most of the time. I still miss it here or there...

I always figured my shifter had a fault or something, glad to hear it's not just me :sly:
 
No, not just you. Mines was fine in Prologue but it just doesn't seem to want to work in GT5. Very annoying. It's a pity it isn't 6th gear, I don't use that very often :P

Thank god its not just me!

I'm on a G25 and its just the same.

I thought this was my poor clutch work but it does seem its an actual flaw.

From what I can tell, the game only registers a gear change if the clutch is depressed 100%, which can be very difficult when your vying for position whilst winding on armfulls of lock and reaching for another gear.

As with everyone else I also don't have horn or wipers mapped as default, and cant work out how to add them in on the settings as the g-series wheels arent supported officially.

Yeah I haven't been able to figure that out either, although I haven't tried too hard either. It's weird that they didn't support it.
 
Try these settings to start Print them off in "my Profile page" even have blank ones. Note they are for G25, but from what I'm reading only two wheel buttons are working. Example:

 
Only 2 buttons on the shifter work? All 4 did something in Prologue... that seems to leave G25/27 users in quite a lurch since we are short quite a few buttons then :(

Unforutnately I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see an update to fix it as the DFGT is the oficial wheel of GT and as such there are probably financial incentives for PD to make sure it's the best wheel for the game...
 
Man, they better put an update in this game. I have 10 red buttons and only 4 are working, and I can't reconfigure them. How pathetic.

Go to "options" select Driving Force Pro Wheel then use that to adjust your wheel.
 
anyone managed to move the handbrake /ebrake from the square button to one of the steering wheel buttons on the g27? i remapped it in DFP setup but nothing happened. Looks like my only option is to make a handbake myself?
 
I had problems getting into 2nd gear, but I've acclimated myself to just being slower with the shift and it goes in every time now.
 
I noticed the 2nd gear issue on the second test in the B license exam, I thought it was my fault since this is my first time using a G27, but the more I've played and from reading everyone's posts regarding the problem, I may not be problem.

I'll also concur on the paddle shifter "overriding" the clutch. I've done it a few times during some harder license tests.

Look at picture above Left button/L2 Right button/R2


After you get to the Driving Force Pro option in the menu watch and the different buttons light up as you move through the menu. Go to my "Profile page" and print off a blank WHEEL sheet and use pencil to write in what each button does. I'll try to update the diagrams after I make sure the buttons match up. I've not played game yet still setting everything up. These settings worked great in GT5P so I'm sure they will work in GT5. I'm going to use the default settings on the DFP wheel until I see what I want to change. I'll send you a friends invite too.

From that "Crazy opelgt:crazy:1969 guy" be easy on me I'm old Really Old:sly:

Its really annoying, My wheel is the only thing that won't work everything else works perfectly fine.

Same goes for me. Pedals, shifter and its buttons, paddles are working. But the wheel doesn't, I have no vibration of any sort and no FFB, just as if it was unplugged.
 
It's still not working... Isn't the wheel supposed to turn around itself when I boot up the console ? Cuz nothing is happening with mine... Plus it's completely new, it's the first time I'm using it.
 
Anyone who knows what they are doing with the G27 have a few minutes to explain exactly how the options work. For example, should we be configuring Driving Force Pro #1 or #2, and what does that even stand for? Is that if you have 2 wheels for Player 1 and Player 2?

I must say I'm very disappointed that GT5 doesn't make this very obvious. G25 and G27 wheels are so common you'd think they would have made specific tabs for each of them.

Try this:
Turn your controller off
Make sure your wheel is in port #1 (Far left or top)
Restart game
If this works then set your controller to controller # 2 then you should be able to use both.
Also it would help if everyone would say which PS3 they have. Older ones have 4 ports which the wheel can use ports #1 & 3. Ports # 2 & 4 wheel will not work.

im happy with the G27, all is working fine, but i cannot believe there isnt a setup section for the G27!!!!!!! its the best wheel on the market surely they should cater for this, so im hoping we can get a patch to fix this, im keen to assign actions of the 6 buttons on the wheel.
 
Anyone with a G27 wheel should also look at the questions in the G25 questions since both wheel are close to the same only G27 has the 4 buttons on the wheel that don't function in GT.
