Serious?
How could a board like this let a moron like you post that many times without booting you into insignificance? Capitalize this...

Hey, just trying to be nice and point our new friend here towards making good habits and following the AUP. https://www.gtplanet.net/aup If you haven't read it, good grammar and capitalization are not only encouraged but required.

Good thing you called me a moron and not one of the other mods.

To the mod who reviews this-- just cancel my membership.. You grammer nazis are out of control and need to go strait to hell..
I can't believe what I'm reading. I wouldn't be a member of your forum if you paid me..

If the car is semi-auto/dual clutch- one way to find out if you're not a car expert is to use the cockpit view (with Premium cars) and if the driver hand animation change gear using the paddle shifter, it means that it's sequential/dual-clutch/semi-automatic car- you can only shift sequentially ad not with H-gated shifter/clutch. That's how it goes in real life.

I don't remember if he was doing that...sigh I want to use the clutch on all premium cars. Either way they need address the compatibility issues on this game.

It's ironic because you post with perfectly acceptable English. Too bad you have to call people Nazi morons soundin' like Johnathan Edwards.

on my G27, the top left wheel button does rear view and the top right does the alternate high/low beam function. shame i can't just turn on the lights whenever i want like i can with the windshield wipers.

EDIT: what i did was assign the normal ps3 controller to slot one, and my G27 to slot 2. then, i assigned all the functions i wanted to the ps3 controller and having it sitting right next to my wheel. so i just reach down now and press the controller to tun on/off wipers and horn and such....temporary fix i hope.....

What you can do is after turning the PS3 on and wheel/controller on go to the XMB settings then to assign controller then use the buttons on the wheel to assign the wheel to controller #2 then your wireless controller will default to #1. Do this before loading game (I think if you try doing it with game loaded it says you must quit game to do this).

Anybody else having to scroll through menus with their sixaxis then switch to their wheel to race? The DPad and buttons on my shifter don't do anything when pressed....

Try doing what I stated on the post above yours. If that don't work trun your wireless controller off then your d-pad should work.Wheel must be in port #1 or on older PS3's port #1 or #3.

Driving Force Pro 1.

Dumb question here but we might have to buy a horn before we can make it work. I seen where you can buy different horns so maybe it's like the real world extras cost extra.

I could not get a horn sound. Then, after completing some test/license I was given a horn. I went into my car and installed it, and now I have a horn.
I don't know if all cars come without a horn to begin with, but it is at least necessary to install one on some of the cars.

My G25 wheel + OpelGT's instructions & mapping = Driving Bliss
Big Thanks Opel, your info was easy to follow and worked perfectly. 👍

Thanks for the kind words glad to be helpful. I've not done any races yet just doing licence test right now but if anyone wants to know I got a "Prize Horn N255" for this (The number of cars in your garage has reached 10).

im confused, i refused quite a few horns as prizes, but how do you install em? and what does the number represent in the HORN? like Horn N255, what does that mean?

Selected Driving Force Pro [1] then made all buttons to (change view) selected OK then went into "Practice" and made car auto (because I didn't have a button to change gears with) then started driving.

Guess what every button changed the driving view. So I think that it would be the same on the G27 wheel also.
Thank you, everything works great now with the g25 👍

I was wondering what happened if you refused a prize do you get another one? I've just been accepting all prizes. As far as the Horn N255 I think the number just means different sound. I'm no music major I do like music maybe some would know if N255 could be a (sound bar) type thing.

The G27 wheel works very well for the game. But on dirt, it chatters like crazy. Does anyone else experience this?

Don't know about the Fanatec Wheel, but with the G27, I and a number of others really don't think there is a flaw here. You just have to shift it perfectly, like a real car, or it won't work. Once you get the hang of it then you never have problems.

I thought the 2nd gear was broken too, but I corrected my bad shifting that I picked up from GT5P where it didn't matter if you hit the clutch or not.

I disagree. The problem is not that you have to shift perfectly, the problem is that the game's behaviour is inconsistent.

From my own experimentation I have found 2 things:

1) The issue only occurs from 1st up to 2nd. It does not occur between any other gears, including 2nd down to 1st.
2) The issue only appears to occur at a standing start or low speed. If you're doing 50 down the straight and you drop it down in to 1st, then in to 2nd, you are far less likely to experience the problem.

The fact is that when I can sit there and depress the clutch by 10% and flick between 3rd and 4th at high speed quite happily, but 1st to 2nd is completely different. And unfortunately it's the only change that most of the time is absolutely critical to get done quickly, or else you're often left behind!

You might want to do another test on your wheel because I just tested my G25 wheel and all buttons can be mapped except the "Start" button (other wise you could get stuck in game). You tested with all set to accelerate (accelerate) isn't an on/off digital setting (I don't think) unless using controller (pressure switch).
What I did was in the option menu:

Selected Driving Force Pro [1] then made all buttons to (change view) selected OK then went into "Practice" and made car auto (because I didn't have a button to change gears with) then started driving.

Guess what every button changed the driving view. So I think that it would be the same on the G27 wheel also.

Could you try this on your G27 wheel and see if the buttons will map to "change view".

Thanks for the reply opelgt1969. I tried setting L1, L2, L3, R1, R2 & R3 all to Change View in Driving Force Pro [1] and tried Practice and still doesn't work :(

I also tried setting all buttons to Change View on all wheels, tried arcade and practice and still doesn't work.

Can anyone with a Logitech G27 try the following and let us know if it works (that way I can determine if it's just my setup or a problem with the G27's....

1. Go to Options > Steering Controllers > Driving Force Pro 1
2. Set buttons L1, L2, L3, R1, R2 & R3 all to "Change View"
3. Go into either arcarde and/or practice and see if any of the RED buttons change the view?

Just tried it, and no, it does not work. What about the red buttons on the shifter, only the middle 2 work. In GT5P I had my programmed to turn off the Ghost, and something else. Maybe I'm just mapping the wrong one this time, not sure, but I can't get it to work.

I tried this and none of my buttons work except the one in the top left of the wheel. NOTHING on my shifter works not even the Dpad for scrolling menus.

Just tried racing and about 30 seconds into the lap the wheel went loose and stopped working and the car kept accelerating even though I took my foot off the gas. I'm guessing I have a defective unit?

A few questions
1) Do you have your wireless controller on? If yes try turning it off.
2) Do you have your wheel in port #1? If not plug it into port #1.
3) Does your wheel work in the PS3 XMB menu?
4) Anyone here with a G27 wheel live close to Bristol,Va/Tn?

PM me if you do I'd like for you to bring your wheel to my house and try some settings.
My PS3 is a "Fatboy" early model with 4 ports that plays PS1/PS2 games.

Only trying to help "Crazy opelgt:crazy:1969 guy"

I've got a G27, I'd love to help test, but I'm just a silly electrical engineer, so I have no idea how to do it.

If you want to walk me through it I'll try whatever. I'd love to have all my buttons working, although it's not a huge deal right now.

1) No wireless controller turned on
2) Wheel is in Port 1, although it's a Slim PS3, not sure if that matters
3) The wheel works in the XMB menu

Try going into GT5 options and select Driving Force Pro wheel then change 1 button setting then reset the wheel to default settings (Doing this might get the game to "SEE" the wheel then try it. I had trouble with my G25 with GT4 on my PS3 when the PS3 first came out. (Then the wheels didn't support FFB at all). Was half way through GT4 before they patched the wheel problem had to learn game all over with FFB.
Do you have any other driving game to try the wheel with?
Me thinks that Logitech should send me a bunch of different wheels so I could help people better:idea::dopey::sly:👍

I have G27 hooked up and here is what works:
-steering wheel
-clutch,brake, gas pedals
-X, O buttons on shifter
-paddle shifters

Here is what doesn't work and would love some help please
-D-pad
-all red buttons on steering wheel & shifter
-sequential shifter

Exactly what I did, it helps out a lot! Thanks man.

Negative. The red button that normally changes the view still changes it (the one on the shifter, next to start).

None of the rest of them do anything, except the top two on the wheel which already did the look behind and lights, that didn't change at all.
