Still no team GB????? I walked home 45 minutes and they're still doing people's countries :O

Team GB are the last ones out mate! but we are in the 'V's now so not long to go! :)

Those drummers and the guys who had to wave their arms for the entire parade of the athletes must be completely knackered!

Looks like its Steve redgrave who will light the stadium torch!

Must say it's quite funny how it seemed most people liked the ceremony here but on the other forum I frequent everyone was saying it was downright awful, although they used more colourful language.

Hey Jude playing. :)

McCartney ruined the Jubilee, and now they're letting him bring out his tired old past it act on the Olympics too...

A few minutes ago we had the Floyd, and the was freakin awesome.

If you want negativity then I'll say that the lighting of the cauldron was very underwhelming (compared with what Sydney did ;) )

Is that where the flame is going to be?? right in the middle!? its usually at one end of the staduim isnt it!?

You can see the stadium starting to empty now!

I don't understand why, at the London Olympics there announcing everything in French first.

......fireworks display.... BANG CRASH..... Paul MacCartney.... Live and Let Die.... Baron Samedi... and then all I heard was "Nah, nah nah, nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, Hey Jude"...

.. but I'm afraid, I was very, very drunk.

Very well done ceremony. Really annoyed they didn't have Pink Floyd in the music ceremony, and also skipped over about 20 years of music to fixate on Dizzee Rascal at the end, but Pink Floyd finished the ceremony, so that's good! Fantastic to see that every single Sovereign State minus the Vatican was represented, as well as several Dependant Territories.

What on earth were they thinking getting McCartney on to play Hey Jude? I guess they were going for the crowd-singalong aspect...would have been better off getting Queen on.
Queen playing We Will Rock You and Bicycle Race would have been far better. :D

It was also criminal to only play 10 seconds of the Happy Mondays earlier.

Well, I have to give it to them, I was quite skeptical after seeing the initial plans but obviously what the Sun showed was merely the tip of the iceberg. That was an absolutely superb opening ceremony, really made me feel proud to be British. It bought a lump to my throat and made my hairs stand on end, made me feel joyous and on a few occasions quite emotional. I think when you can say that the worst part of the whole thing was Paul Mcartneys singing, I think you can regard it as an overall success.

Massive thumbs up to Frank Turner who was on before the main ceremony, deserves a big stage and as a true English folk singer it was great to see him there.
