Loss of Grip on curbs is extremely irritating.

The first and last spin I was going straight with no steering or throttle input and the car still just turned around.

Thats whats frustrating me, I know I've made a mistake and I try to get out of it by getting off the throttle and reducing steering input but nothing works, the car just gets turned around like its on a pivot on ice

It's a curb. I'm not sure what you want the devs to do. In some of those instances you were clearly on the grass. There will always be traction loss on the curbs. Couple that with acceleration and lateral loading and you will spin. Clipping is OK but riding them like that. ...not so much. I don't mean to be harsh but this game, and it is a game, is far far far more forgiving than project cars or assetto corsa. It's not a Sim but it is still very enjoyable and the online aspect is well executed.

All of those were grass probably though. I think it spins because you suddenly half the grip available when a tyre goes on grass, then the LSD kicks in and boom. If the sudden half grip didn't cause an issue the LSD sending most power to the tyre on the road will do funky things. That's been my take on it anyway.

Cars use that area all the time irl. But watch super gt races, they usually stay inside the green. I think that's astroturf which is like carpet.

Weird but now I know who you are and why I saw you disappear a few times lol

I don’t have the Viper but it could be a default setup issue?

What's there to fix? Your outside drive wheels were hitting the grass, curb or whatever low-grip surface that is. Low-grip surfaces cause the drive wheels to spin faster, so if your tires make contact with the road surface again while spinning way too fast, you're bound to spin.

One solution is (TL;DR, to git gud) to let off the gas when your outside drive wheel is about to hit a low-grip surface, preventing them from spinning. Then nurse the car until all four wheels come in contact with the road surface again.

Hey qwbufp.

I think the issue is the game is over exaggerating the wheel speed/grip difference between the tires on track and those off when you go off slightly. And when your in a MR car the effect is even worse. The video is from a McLaren 650S.

If you watch the video closely, I am 80% off the gas with very little to no steering input, and the car still goes around violently. I think the problem is related to the traction control issue people are having. Its been reported that driving the cars without traction control is very difficult and that the cars break loose violently with very little warning or chance to save the car, which sounds like whats happened to me.

My point is I dont feel like I was drivng like a maniac in most of these incidents and they shouldnt have resulted in a spin. I realized I had made a mistake, got off the throttle, and eased up on the steering, yet still the car just whips around.

Not a game bug.

Looks like your left wheels were completely in the grass (also in some of the other examples) for the last spin too.

This shows the evolution of the series. GTS can be a bit dangerous at times, cutting times.

Hence why I suggested letting off the gas. 80% off the gas is still stepping on the gas. Try 100% off the gas next time.

I turn off traction control as well, and with regards to your experience, that is exactly what I have experienced as well in Suzuka, ever since the GT4 days. As the other members have pointed out, Suzuka is an unforgiving race track if you overdo things at even the slightest bit. The only other useful tip I can give is avoid hitting the outside curbs completely.

I don't have a problem with the curbs in GT Sport - you can hop over them without any fuss. If you go over them and put a wheel out on the grass, you will crash. I've done it twice.

Roof cam is crap. If you play with the HUD, first person view or even cockpit view. I think it is much easier to drive on limit
I find roof cam the easiest actually, first started using it on Vettel challenge on GT5 and never looked back

Oops yes the 650S not the Viper. I tried the 650S earlier and I had the same issue. It just snaps wildly at Suzuka if your inputs are not perfect or touch the curbs too hard.

I used the RCZ, the 4C and the R.S.01 and it wasn’t that bad. The NSX has the same behavior as the 650S, if not worse. They need to have a second look at some default setups if they want some MR cars to be drivable without tuning and unrealistic aids.

Just woke up... Hope it makes sense.

Actually I dont personally get how grip in the curbs work in this game.
Sometimes you get no grip, other times you have too much grip going over curbs.A good example is Nordschleife.
You can pretty much go full throttle in every curb without losing the car.Its imo too unrealistic. In RL no car can do that. But in the world of GTS,if you want to get a good lap time there, you have to push hard-riding every curb there is in the track. If you try the same "lines" in AC,iRacing,Pcars (or other similar sims) you wont even get to finish half a lap.Your car is gonna get wrecked.
