Restart race helps me win. I might have to restart 10 times, but that's ok.
I'm not trying to be anything.Nice job trying to play mind games.
I know your trying to be a mod, and you think you are putting on a good show by trying to "straighten" me out.
Sucks, because I've seen alot of good members go bad fast shortly before and after they became mods. Messes with alot of people.
Rewinds kill the point of a sim plain and simple..
"And Herer they come round the first cona,
Numba 48 haus just taken tha league.
Oh an whats this the car's are all going backwads.
And now numba 34 has just taken tha league.
...I misspelled on purpose to sound "Brittish" no offence.
Listen to it in your head a few times...
Then you will understand.
McLarenI'm not trying to be anything.![]()
McLarenI'm sorry you have to resort to another assumption, & try to take a debate off topic for the 60th time, but it's time to stop.
McLarenYou just continue to pass on your assumptions as fact, and make up new things to drive away from the original topic. You like to do so.
McLarenWith that, consider me done.
McLarenYou'll see this is why I've gone and ahead not bothering to quote anything else because there's no point.
McLarenAnd you can go ahead and get your brain to accumulate another series of poor arguments & dip more into the "I'm trying to be a mod" even though that has nothing to do with the topic and shows you're merely grasping for air while you continue to dwindle down into more piss-crap arguments.
McLarenSo, with that, have fun with your reply, and enjoy wasting whatever time you spend doing so.
McLarenI'll just let you know now I'm going to skim over it, and read the part where you might try to reply to this last bit in some sort of fashion attempting to be witty & clever, while in reality, I'll just sit and laugh, leaving others here to continue breaking down your argument.
Again, have fun with that, and g'day.![]()
Could've fooled me. Your constantly policing people on this forum who say the slightest thing against Forza.

How is that any different than your constant policing people on this forum that say the slightest positive thing about Forza or negative thing about GT?
Nothing. It's called double standards. Granted, you have been here longer than me by ages, but based on your conversation with McLaren, you want your way only.
There seems to be a common misconception about what a sim is. A sim is not meant to replicate reality. A sim is meant to replicate aspects of reality. That is the key. You don't see any so called sim making you pack up your car in a truck, drive it to the track, unload it, push it into the pits, fuel it, drive it out onto the track, do a warm up lap, and find your spot on the grid. Most of that would be tedious stuff. No one claims that magically appearing in the right spot on the starting grid is unsim like. Why? Because the sim isn't trying to replicate those aspects of reality. A sim lets you skip those aspects of reality that you don't want to deal with. With that in mind if you want to simulate doing turn 9 of track x what is unsim like about using rewind to do it? Nothing, it is letting you skip aspects of reality that you want to skip at the time (turns 1-8 and 10-40) so you can concentrate on what you want to at that time. Simulations have a lot of potential as learning tools because they allow you to do things that can't be done in real life. If people continue to take a narrow view of what a simulation is, that potential will remain untapped.
Have you heard of Lucas Ordonez?
I think GT is already a great learning tool without rewind.
Clearly, GT can never be improved after the release of 5 games!
i disagree
Then let's add rewind to help Mr. Ordonez (or the next Mr.Ordonez) get even better.
And look now govnah, a gigantic pause sybol has popped up over tha track and all the cahs are suddenly back at the staht line! Whots this now? A giant stripy line has suddenly appeared on the track and it change colour as they drive! Mahvelous, simply mahvelous!
Oh my, the drivah has now gotten out of the cah and is being replaced by a robot, the driver is sitting on the sides having a spot of tea and watching the robot win the race for him while he occasionally tells the robot to speed up and slow down, genious!
Long and the short of it, it's a game.
In GT3 and GT4 you could not restart, you could only quit and then start the race again. There are two problems with this. 1: If you are in a championship, you can't re-do the race without re-doing the whole championship. 2: It counts as a loss in your statistics, which is very very bad![]()
I would not like a rewind mode in GT5 nor would I use it. If you make a mistake then you must continue, in real life you can't simply rewind if you spin off the track or have a crash!
A rewind option during replays would be highly useful though.

Going with the Chewbacca defense, I see.
I think his point was that this "untapped potential as learning tools" that Zathra mentioned hasn't been proven to exist because, as seen in Lucas Ordonez's case, he's already successfully made the leap to pro racing and done extremely well in it....So exactly how much better can a simulator prepare him to be? And would rewind have made Ordonez any better?
I doubt it.
Not everyone benefits from a baseball T, some people just have great hand eye coordination.

I dont think I police people
And when it comes to rewind, yes, I want my way and I should have my way as I see no way Kaz will implement it. Nothing he has done in the past has shown him to copy other games. He himself says he makes GT out to what he wants it to be, not what other games are.
I repeatedly feel as if i am completely ignored on this forum. One of the main arguments for the rewind feature is that you can restart the race, so why not rewind as it saves time?
I direct you to this:
Also, B-spec mode was introduced in the same game as the 24 hour race. This is not a coincidence, PD didn't expect you to keep your ps2 on for 24+ hours. So they allowed you to switch with an AI driver, which you could speed up to save time.
As I said, some people are naturally talented. Not everyone benefits from a baseball T, some people just have great hand eye coordination.
The fact that some people excel without it does not mean it's not a useful tool. That is a flawed assumption to make.
Of course the "untapped potential as learning tools" hasn't been proven. that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Its use would be consistant with what we know about motor learning so there is reason to believe that it might.
The argument about Lucas Ordonez is useless. 1. Who said it was necessary to use rewind to be a good race car driver? 2. I wasn't aware that Lucas was currently the best racer in the world and couldn't get better. 3. We have no idea whether he would be better or not with features such as rewind. 4. Even if he wouldn't benefit it doesn't mean that others wouldn't.
