I'm getting an Omar Infante shirt. So glad they finally lit up the atrocity. TWICE. MAHLINS BAYBEE!

Just about gave another one away tonight. Glad we came out on top. Now a 10 game home stand, so hopefully we can get a nice winning streak going.

I don't think Matt Kemp will be able to live up to his projected stats...

600 and a 1.6 OPS. LOL.

HAHAHA!!! Thats awesome, I have to show that to my friends that are Dodgers fans, they'll love that.

97 home runs? Pssh, child's play.

Yeah, most of those seem legit but there's no way he's caught stealing 32 times... :sly:

Too bad that OBP is low. :p

Tonight the Giants face the Phillies. Lincecum V Halladay...

Halladay never fares well against the Giants. :) No, seriously. Look at his career numbers.

L 6-3 6.1 IP 5 ER
L 8-5 5.1 IP 5 ER
L 5-1 7 IP 5 ER
L 4-3 7 IP 4 ER
W4-2 6 IP 2 ER

1-4 with a 6.05 ERA :sly:

Out of all days I love Jackie Robinson day. Its the best thing that Selig did. The Dodgers had their Brooklyn caps on and everyone was Jackie Robinson (Mo Vaughn/Mariano Rivera).

I don't mind celebrating of Jackie Robinson day... but the retirement of 42 for all teams is stupid IMO.

Where is notoriety for the Walker Brothers? William White? The fact that Jackie is in the HoF and not Minnie Minoso is ridiculous.

Selig should think about doing s roberto clemente day, where is the love for the latin players? I mean clemente was just as much if not more of a humanitarian than jackie.

My Astros are ready for their first four-game series of the season. We're at the Nationals. Tonight's game will not be televised. So I can only hope we avoid getting our butts handed to by the Nationals after failing in the at Miami series.

Good luck to all of your teams in your respective series.

As much as I think Clemente was a great humanitarian, his entry into the sport was not identical to Robinson. Jackie was the first ever black player in Major League Baseball. Clemente was the 7th from Puerto Rico and came a full 10 years after Hiram Bithorn (who was the first PR player in the MLB). Still, both were influential people who helped shape the sport but Jackie was a bit more.

No, he wasn't.

Moses Walker. He played until the 'unofficial' banning of black players took place.

Giants extended Bumgarner 5 years for 35 Mill. It will be $40 Million if he qualifies as a Super 2, which will most likely happen. There are club options for 2018 and 2019.. Hell yeah. This will make extending Posey easier as they are good buddies that have worked together for awhile now.

I retract my statement. Are the Giants going to try and extend Lincecum before 2013?

No wonder it wasn't televised- it was to prevent me to see my Astros fail 6-3 at Washington. So we go from a pretty good 3-3 start to being 4-6 now. Interesting note is that we're in a three-way tie for second in the NL Central at this point, trailing 3 games back of the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals. Strasburg won for WAS in pitching six innings, Weiland lost for HOU. I read that part of Washington's big win was in cashing in four runs in the sixth.

We failed, again. How did your team(s) do?

Great outing for Saunders tonight in Arizona. Allowed a single run in the first but settled down and went scoreless through the next 6 innings. Hernandez came in and had a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts in the 8th, and Ziegler finished them off for a 5-1 win. :)

Chris Young is on fire this year. Hit another home run tonight and +2 RBI's. Hopefully he keeps it up.

Winning streak at home starting off good. 👍

True,i def. understand where you are coming from. But clemente was the most identifiable latino player, more so than any previous. But thats up for debate

Not to take anything away from Jackie Robinson, but I think the whole "number 42 day" and whatnot is overblown, too. One could argue that we should have a Branch Rickey day instead, because he's the one who gave Robinson his chance (no that's not a serious proposal), and himself faced a lot of opposition.

Likewise Roberto Clemente. Yes Clemente was a great player, not arguing that at all. But if he had died of natural causes at age 70 instead of in an airplane crash at the peak of his career (okay, maybe a bit past his peak) he wouldn't be nearly as revered as he is today.

I would say the same exact thing about Thurmon Munson as well.

I dont agree, yogi, stan the man, willie mays. They are all ancient and everyone still lays out the red carpet for them

Ozzie Guillen will return tonight as skipper for the Miami Marlins. Miami will host the Chicago Cubs tonight at lovely Marlins Park. My 4-6 Astros will continue their four-game set at the Washington Nationals. My AL-favorite Texas Rangers are at the Boston Red Sox. And speaking of the BoSox, it's Yankees at Red Sox this weekend.

Lot of baseball, not a lot of time. So uh, enjoy some baseball!

Every week is a great week for baseball ha. Anyone hear any good trade rumors? I relieze i could go to one of many sites that does these speculations, but thats no fun.

Completly way off topic, but whatevs.how about some hockey? Rangers are just toying with the Sens. Christ i hope the devils win their series so we see a Rangers vs. Devils round 2 matchup!

The game was on though. MLB Network carried the game last night.

My Mets are still surprising me. 6-1 win over Atlanta to now be 4 up on them this year. Bay robbed Jack Wilson of a HR and then hit one of his own.

They have been trying, but Timmy's thing is that he wanted a 2 year deal (which he got) or a 8 year deal. Chances are between now and the end of his deal the Giants will have extended Posey and Timmy will do it too. Timmy likes sticking with the same catcher, someone he can trust.

To be honest, the more that I think about it the more I think that the Giants might try and move Posey to LF or 2B or something. We have so much damn talent at the C position.

I dont see posey playing second. Corner outfields maybe. First base definatly

What makes you think that? He isn't a slow guy, he was a SS before he played CC. 3B, 2B, 1B, LF are all possible places. 3B is taken by Sandoval, 1B will be taken by Belt... LF isn't taken in the future. Panik in the end will probably be the 2B with Crawford at SS.

Prosthetic

When did he play shorstop last? 2B is a completly different skill set that takes a while to master. What makes you think belt will still be on the team? I will say this,mo rivera was drafted as a a CF and well the rest is history. He couldn't hit,but he could field
