17 pitchers who have pitched for the Mets have thrown at least one no-hitter in their career (none obviously on the Mets).

It wasn't enough. 6-5 in favor of Milwaukee. I think this is now five straight Astros losses in one-run games. We drew first blood with a 1-0 lead in our first inning. Brewers brought in three runs. We shortened the gap constantly. However, it wasn't enough. I just hope the Astros don't just keep games close but don't do a damn thing to actually WIN. You either win or lose in most professional sports, and the Astros are losing, which pisses me off when you have a chance to win. F:censored:ing win or don't even show up to play. That f:censored:ing simple.

We outhit the Brewers some... 13 hits to their eight, I believe. But again, not enough runs to seal a win.
 
Seems our bullpin wants to give away our win tonight. :grumpy:

Edit: We got it. Went into the top of the 9th up 9-0 and the Phillies came back with 2 home runs and an extra base hit resulting in 5 runs. 👎

9-5 final score, our starting pitcher tonight (Miley) was pretty much lights out. Great start for him. 6 innings, 2 hits, 7 strikeouts, 1 walk and 0 runs on 81 pitches. 👍

Congrats to Hector Sanchez on his first career HR! Sandoval and Schierholtz also went deep.. Schierholtz was a double away from the cycle in the first game. And got a triple in his first AB in the 2nd game. Posey also went yard in the first game.

Giants win both games in the double header today against the Mets. 6 to 1 in the 1st game and 7-2 in the 2nd. Since opening the season 0-3 in Arizona that Giants have come back and won every series so far 2 out of 3 each time and 3 out of 4 against the Mets. We play the Reds tomorrow in Cincinnati hoping for a little revenge since the last time we played there.
 
Random musings...

* The MLB Network folks are showing lots of love for the Nationals' starting pitching rotation. They've got some solid talent with a very good ERA below 2. You like the Nationals' starting pitching like MLB Network is?

* Boston snapped their five-game losing skid recently with a 6-5 win at the Minnesota Twins. Tonight's mound matchup is Beckett (BOS) vs. Blackburn (MIN).

* Kansas City continues their series at home against the Toronto Blue Jays. They lost 4-1 to Toronto last night. They are STILL winless at home- 0-10 at home! They are 3-13 right now and are on the road at Cleveland for their next series. On the mound, it's Jonathan Sanchez (KC) vs. Derek Lowe (CLE).

* Jason Castro (HOU) was protecting home plate when he got whacked by Milwaukee. We lost our game 6-5 despite an Astros' rally. Tonight's pitching match is Bud Norris (HOU) vs. Randy Wolf (MIL).

Just thought I would let everyone know, it was :censored:ing cold at Comerica Park on Sunday afternoon. Mainly the wind, which was swirling around the stadium like you wouldn't believe.

Brewers 9, Astros 6 in Milwaukee. I couldn't watch after learning the Brew Crew put up 5 runs in one inning as their cushion to win. Astros have one last chance to try to beat the Brewers in this series starting tomorrow afternoon. Yep- failed again.
 
Tack on another loss for Arizona. Seems Philadelphia had trouble getting runs in this year....until they came to Arizona. So now we're really paying for it. :indiff:

In related Rangers news, Ivan Rodriguez has formally retired from Baseball as a Texas Ranger. The 40 year old catcher started playing in 1991 after coming to the US by way of Porter Rico in 1988 for the Rangers. Rafael Palmero and "Pudge's" family was at the ceremony which took place at the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame here in Arlington, TX.

I wouldnt say he destroyed the yanks really,im more encouraged on how kuroda did. Keep the ball down for once in that sandbox and against that lineup. Ill take it,darvish was just better last night

Sandoval passed Willie Mays with most consecutive games with a hit to start a season with 17. Mays had 16.

All good things must come to an end... if you're a Brewer. We just won 7-5 today at the Brewers. This win was the product of 14 hits and no errors. The Brew Crew were getting timely hits themselves- 10 hits, but with one error. Up next for the Astros is a three-game set at Cincinnati after our day off tomorrow. Wilton Lopez (HOU) wins with a Brett Myers (HOU) save. Veras (MIL) lost.


How did your team(s) do today/tonight?


[UPDATE] I forgot to mention- this win by the Astros snapped an 11-game losing streak to the Brewers. I'm sorry I forgot to mention that.

The Reds got all touchy when Otero hit Votto.. The thing is it loaded the basses and he was having major control problems... The terrible umpire didn't help either. So first pitch to Posey went behind him, then the warnings happened.

Everyone's going after him this year after last year, and hes having none of it haha.

Lecure the pitcher who through at Posey tweeted this yesterday after the game.

"Talk about your all time punk jobs! I'm just happy we won. #reds"

At least he recognized Posey punked him.. Reminds of the 09' when Sandoval took Santana deep after Santana tried to hit Pablo. Cain hit Wright in the head, I can understand that a little more but it still wasn't intentional. He hit the ball 🤬 hard too, straight line drive that bounced off the facing of the 2nd deck. To add a little fuel to it, it was a nationally televised game on Fox.
 
And Arizona loses yet another one. The season started out so great, now if it wasn't for San Diego we would be the worst team in the NL West. :yuck:

But I think they can sweep the Reds (I know it's ridiculous), I'd love to put money on that but the bookmakers here don't offer that depth. I know the Astros can light a big fire but they keep forgetting how to stack the wood when they face the next team. 2-1 for us at least...
 
Astros off today. Figured I'd talk about them.

I've been sold on Brian Bogusevic since his arrival. I am also sold now on José Altuve as well as J.D. Martinez. I think the Astros certainly have the youngest average age in the National League. Only the Kansas City Royals have a younger lineup. Of course, Houston has the better record than Kansas City. The story of the 2012 Astros mostly seems to be defined by a team basically starting over with a lot of young talent. In addition, this is a team that will begin playing in the American League after spending its 50 years in the National League. So this is more like a team who still contends against National League opponents while also gearing up for American League play next season. But, AL is NEXT season. The Astros still have to make the most with what youth they have.

In recent times, I began to think about the Astros' move to the AL next season, and it sort of makes sense. For one- the NL Central has six teams while the AL West has four. It sort of makes sense geographically for Houston to make up that spot to align all divisions with five teams. That's the one thing I thought about in the whole realignment deal.

Omnis, I have no idea what's going on in Queens but has Miami's Bullpen completely forgotten how to pitch? Tuesday night Josh Johnson and 3 other pitchers walk 4 consecutive batters (first time in MLB history) and lose. Today, Heath Bell manages to walk 4 in an inning and lose the game.
 
BIG win for San Francisco earlier today at the Cincinnati Reds. A three-run jack by the Giants put them up for good in the Top of the 9th to win 6-5. Congratulations to Prosthetic's Giants on a big win.

This Miami team has seams to be headed the same direction as that other certain Miami sports team that said they would win a certain championship which they didn't end up winning.

Thanks! The Giants were getting really unlucky with runners on and 2 outs. We were always getting runners on, and with two outs we would line up one up the middle and the pitcher magically catches it and escapes the jam. Or a line drive right at an infielder.

No idea. Not sure how we're losing to the Mets either. It's the Mets. Maybe since everyone was watching the Heat and the Panthers and the Draft they thought they can just let dudes walk and nobody would give a crap.

If I knew what was wrong I'd be managing them instead of Pinko Guillen.
 
It isn't Guillens problem though. He can't throw the ball for Bell who has been terrible. He can't swing the bat for Stanton who still doesn't have a HR or for Reyes or Ramirez.

But its April this **** happens, Timmy still hast a 8.20 ERA.. (Granted he also has 11.6 SO/9).
