Thanks Camaroboy 👍

It's not out in the UK until Friday so I will have to wait a little while to get my hands on it. Could you pop back to this thread and give your first impressions or a mini review?

It's either ME3 or Dirt 3 Complete for me... If ME3 is as deep as ME2 then it will last me a good 70 hours of play time. However, Dirt 3 is compatible with the DFGT and has the awesome DLC cars included in it. Choices, choices.

The PS3 version of ME3 is currently having some major frame rate issues compared to the 360 version. While the 360 averages around the normal 30 frames per second, the PS3 is trailing far behind at an average of just 20 FPS.

Who cares, the PC version is superior to both. I was getting 90+fps in the multiplayer part of the demo :sly:

Jennifer Hale interview. She's great!
Hale and (Ali) Hillis are two of my favourite voice actors, they're awesome <3

Retail copies are shipping here tomorrow so they arrive on the 9th, can't wait :D

Played the PC version starting Monday morning, put way more hours into it then i'm willing to admit, and beat it. I have pretty mixed feelings about the ending, but the journey getting there was one of the best gaming experiences i've had.

Quick review....GO BUY THIS GAME!!!!

WOW this game is just incredible. I actually started out playing the 4 player co-op horde mode since I had 4 players in a party and we all loved the 4 player co-op demo. But wow not only is it better in the full game, there are much more enemies and it is much more challenging. Just unbelievable at times. Just enemy after enemy after enemy and there were moments where all 4 of us were surrounded. Bodies flying, explosions, burning, freezing, warping, singularity, just frigging epic!!!!! Ran perfectly smooth too. Which is shocking for an EA game on the launch day.

Finally after 3 straight hours of CO-OP and after getting an Adept and engineer both to level 10, I decided to check out the campaign. Played at least an hour of the campaign. It starts out a bit weak for the first 5-10 mintues just like in the demo. But once you get past that the game picks right up and the action just gets so awesome. Graphics are stunning! Gameplay is smooth, dialog and facial expressions are excellent (after the demo part). If you liked the series you will love ME3. If you are new to the series I highly recommend checking out ME3. Even if its just for the 4 player co-op experience its well worth it. I cant wait to see what else is in the campaign and to see the other enemies in the 4 player co-op horde mode.

Just from the 4 hours I have played, this is currently my GOTY 2012. Yes the year is early but its going to take one heck of a game to top ME3.

So far this has been an enjoyable game. I haven't really noticed any frame rate drops on my PS3.

Nice one Camaroboy, pumped for this now 👍

I spent months taking my time with ME2 to pull off the best end game result with all my crew intact, so it's all about the campaign for me, but the co-op does sound like a nice little addition.

Can you still explore the galaxies and does the game feel as deep as ME2?

Picked up my copy of ME3 this morning and going through the agonising Friday afternoon at work waiting to get home and get it on the go. Have decided I'm going to get the From Ashes DLC too, as I want to experience the full game. Shame on EA, but then, the ordinary edition plus DLC still doesn't cost as much as the collectors edition.

Can't wait to import my Shepard!

I'm seriously considering getting this game, though I'm also wondering if I should get 2 as well just so I can import a characther. I'm currently playing the demo and I've already fallen sucker to one feature: Customization

Play all 3 👍. Helps with understanding the story more. Plus all three games have different gameplay mechanics, its logical to experience all three.

Hmmm, I guess I could do that. Both 1 & 2 ought to be cheap enough. That and seeing a screenshot of a characther named Miranda left me looking like this:

Yup. Miranda got dat junk.

Wish you could romance Aria T'Loak though. Now that's one spicy blue bitch.

I have been hooked on the 4 player co-op. Went from N7 rating of 56 on friday to N7 rating of 83 last night. Played 12 STRAIGHT hours of 4 player co-op on Saturday. Now I have 5 different characters all at level 20. But still dont have the Quarian Engineer yet which I want really bad.

I only have about 6 hours into the campaign. Every time I start playing the campaign, I keep getting pulled into the 4 player co-op with friends. I really need to play the campaign more because what I have played of the campaign has been excellent.

ME3 ending(s) are completely awful. The game was astounding on a level that I can't even begin to praise, and it all crumbles at the very end. The missions, the tone, the writing, the buildup, and the final mission were top notch in every way imaginable. It went beyond just being a good game - it told a story through a video game medium perfectly. Not enough good can be said about the game as a whole.

And then it just ends. Dumbly. "Here's 5 minutes of recap to explain a bunch of crap. Make your choice. Game is over."

No epic story deserves an ending like that, especially one that was told and presented so well. You spend 3 games and roughly 100 hours getting to know an entire galaxy full of races and characters. It's fantastic. And then the game just stop and goes 'herp derp that's it guys!'

There's no epilogue. No resolution for anyone. I've never seen a game that was this well presented/directed/written just take a dump all over itself in the last 5 minutes.

e - I really do mean ending. It doesn't matter what you do in any way, shape, or form. The ending is essentially the same in all ways.

By all, I mean most.

Might want to wrap that in spoiler tags. That seems to be the common sentiment about the game however, and it's one I also share.

Still love the series to bits though and can't recommend it enough.

Agreed Sharky - ShopdaBob, put the ending in spoiler text. It's becoming a nightmare trying to engage in any internet based discussion about ME3, because every fifth post someone seems to give away the ending without thinking about anyone that's still playing the game.

Cheers 👍

Still hooked on the 4 player co-op. Also still only have about 6 hours into the campaign.
We finally had a really good group together and were able to beat one of the the co-op levels all 11 waves on gold difficulty. It was insane!!! :dopey: I guess if we beat all the co-op levels we get an achievement. So eventually we play to try that. Oh I also finally unlocked my Quarian Engineer in one of the Spectre packs. 👍

Spoilered. I didn't actually say anything that even remotely hinted as to what happened with anyone or anything. I'll try playing some co-op sometime. DLC with a real ending should be coming sometime in the next year.

Question about Quarians. **massive spoilers**

I will start by pointing out that I did not import any of my saves from ME1 or ME2. I wanted to start from scratch.

I had just completed the mission where I take out the Reaper with the laser device. Big explosion, its dead, awesome. Then cut scene comes and explains the Geth / Quarians. THEN I have to make a decision between Geth (upper right) or Quarians (lower left). This whole time Tali is begging me and usually upper right is the positive reply. So I pick the positive reply and to my surprise, a cut scene comes showing the Geth wiping out the Quarians!!!?? Then if I already dont feel bad enough, Tali is crying and then removes her mask and kills herself by jumping off a cliff!!!??? One of my favorite characters of the series!?!!!?!! What the heck did I miss or do wrong???!!!!

Probably because you either didn't import your character from ME2, or...

didn't have enough Paragon or Renegade points to convince the Geth and Quarians to make peace with eachother.

Yep, in that particular scene you have to choose the paragon/renegade dialogue options to 1) keep the Quarians and Geth in each others' good books and 2) not have Tali commit suicide. I renegaded that bit out of instinct and it paid off :D

I haven't played the game myself but it seems many people are annoyed with the ending and have demanded Bioware change it  They have managed to raise $70,000 for charity in the process.

I don't know if the article gives away much of the ending because I didn't read too far into it but just assume there might be spoilers in the linked article.

I played the demo on Gaikai...and WTF is up with the beginning? I mean...you go from "We're must return to earth to prevent the Reapers coming" to "Time has passed, Shepard is no longer a member of the Counsel and has been fired from his/her job, and doesn't have the Normandy, and there's all these new people and Williams has long hair and a completely different character model." And if you've played the previous games you're just going...WTF? What's going on? I mean, with ME2 you pretty much start off where the first game left off and then they explained the time passage well and filled you in on what happened between you getting blown up and rebuilt....but for ME3...they changed so much and put you in this STUPID position without ANY explanation at all. And just when you think they're going to explain it...the stupid Reapers attack. Like..Wait, Shepard saved the universe TWICE and she's randomly fired? How the heck did that happen? And no longer member of the Counsel? What? And why do the human people not believe you when you've just spent the past two games proving to the alien Counsel that the stupid Reapers existed? I mean...it sounded like you came back to earth to save the planet and the Earth guys just fired you, took your ship and randomly handed it over to Williams (another WTF? I thought she hated Shepard, now. I mean, I tried several times to get her to like me in ME2 and she just flipped me the bird every time. So...WTF? SHE got MY ship? AND I was fired?), but that just makes you want to shoot the stupid human counsel idiots in the face. Like, "What? I spent how long saving your butts, and you have the BALLS to do this to me, you worthless....GAH!" Seriously, though, REALLY stupid opening.

Although...you can know pretty much play as Major Motoko Kusangi from GITS, so that's pretty cool.

Some (poor) pictures of my Female Shepard from the ME Demos.

If they look abit "the same", that was done intentionally to make them related. I have codes for all four if needed.

Still been severly hooked on the co-op. n7 rating is around 283. If any of you need tips for beating it on gold I have 2 setups that work very very well. But you will need 4 communicating friends to do it.

Also finally finished up the campaign last weekend. Its not as bad as everyone made it out to be but it sure was short. I took my time, explored everything, checked out the scenery, walked around forver, probed all the planets, did every side objective, and still beat everything in only 30 hours. Thats very short.

As for the ending......
I am almost 100% convinced Sheppard was indoctrinated at the end when you make your 3 decisions. Here is even a 20 minute youtube video confirming this. The video even shows Sheppard is still alive. Plus they say "ok just 1 more story". Its clear that Sheppard will still be alive and eventually they will probably make another Mass Effect using Sheppard but not until the next xbox or PS3 console is relased. It is disappointing that all the decisions you make, have nothing to do with the ending. But other than that it wasnt a good ending but it wasnt as bad as the world is making it out to be.
