lol wut?

i certainly didn't ban you.

Sponge has nothing... yet

Why not have a look at your own behaviour before you starthaving a go at others?

Come on guys, is it really that hard to get along? Most people on the server just get on with it and have fun as MC should be.

I'm starting to get really pissed off with all this bitching.

*edit*
Dylan has a good point but I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don't want to rule with an iron fist but at the same time if i'm too lenient everyone will take advantage.

It's tough :(

I think what we need is a set of Golden Rules (One's that WE can all agree on and could follow). Where if you break one your done. (haha rhymed)
And Even though you demoted me I just wanted to ban myself, but I did may lead into it but Im sorry for that.

Now to the way things would be is maybe worldguard everything. Even though it maybe hard to deal with adding all them but at lease that would cut down on people stealing blocks and whatnot. Since Most of the problems occur when someone grief someone.

It is an annoying predicament, but there's two types of people on the server: ones that play by the rules, and those that don't. If you're too lenient, the ones that don't play fair will be happy to make the rest unhappy. If you're too strict, those that like to play fair are happy, but the rest might just leave. And possibly everyone could feel like they're under a bit too much pressure.

We need a good balance, where everyone can do what they want without worrying about being griefed or being banned for the slightest rule violation. I think most importantly, ban anyone who doesn't respect other people's work. If someone breaks a block, make them fix it, but if they put up a fuss and complain that they're being persecuted or their actions were no big deal, get rid of them (unless they're just trying to prove that they didn't do it, in which case let them defend themselves).

You can decide the rules, I think, but it won't work unless everyone is actually held accountable for their actions.

Going by what Dylan said is that While yes there is no perfect balance, but if we have rules we can decide on then enforce them and if you are caught breaking one of those rules you should be banned and then you can appeal to be back on the server. Those appeals would be based on other than what you broke. Like a 3 strike rule, IMO.

Killed by lag again.

I'm not sure I understand how anyone, even in single player (which would then have exploding creepers) is supposed to live long enough to build up 80+ xp to then *hopefully* get the enchantment they want. If we could buy xp with econ money that'd be fab.

Well the thing is that while in single player you can get mods to cheat but meh,
Also there is a formula to get an enchantment you want on wiki I think.

Does anybody have the iPod Minecraft app? I just found out that there is a Minecraft app and I'm trying te lite and was wondering if anybody would be willing to play.

I brought Minecraft today! Please can I be white listed. My username is korza493.

Jai
It launched me up to 60FPS, still not ideal though.
It's Minecraft, a word of 16-bit 3D blocks with barely any right angles. Nothing's supposed to be smooth about it. :p My laptop only runs it around 25 FPS. :(

Realistically, the two types of people aren't Rule "Followers" and "Breakers", they're Mature and non-Mature, you can follow the rules but still complain and whine about what everyone else is doing, or you can break them and complain that the rules are too harsh or people need to lighten up! Posting 3 pages of arguing and fighting anytime somebody misspells a word is not a proper response for something so trivial, and is a huge indicator of how immature people are behaving now.

The only way the server has any chance of returning to normal is if people start treating it as a game. It is not and will never be, a "way of life", it's not a place to complain, to fight, or to be bitter over anything that happens on it!

Minecraft as a game is at it's best, an outlet for creativity, whether it be using blocks to build a castle, house or boat, creating a mob grinder to farm materials and XP, building complex redstone circuitry to make a cool door or machine, or whatever other project you can imagine. There is no place for crying about a few blocks! There have been many times where someone bore a hole through something I made, blew up a house I built or stole something "valuable" from a chest of mine. Instead of getting mad about it and ruining the server, I just rebuilt it or didn't care, because in the end, it's unimportant, video game Lego!

This is my final rant, if this bickering goes on much longer I'll lock the thread...

In another topic to discuss:
The only thing about those possible locations is they're pretty small, it'd be hard to build a big city on them.

Dunc, can we get a render of the new(est) world? I'd like to scout out some places without flying around for hours.

Regarding the city:

First, we need a good location. Like a cliff edge, with a beach below, which can have some small buildings, and beach huts, sunloungers etc. Then there needs to be an area which can easily be made into a port/harbour.

Second, we need materials. Coloured wool for buildings, stone bricks for floors and churches, glass for churches, planks for other stuff, etc. This could be acquired through weeks of gathering, or we could get it spawned.

Third, we need town planning. Roads, preferably handbuilt, maybe 4 blocks wide in terms of alleyways, and plazas with grand fountains cathedrals. We need to know where everything is, and we need a uniform template for buildings, so we don't have a Fiat style floating pyramid that's made out of gold, cobble and lapis ore in the middle of a little Italian alleyway.

I would have to agree with this.
I always treat this as a game,

Yeah I'm sorry that I built too close to your land, and yes, I thought you either weren't going to build that far in and that no one was building there for more than 2 weeks. Although, you guys can have it as some sort of monument?:dopey:

Honestly, did you just summarize what I did on the server?

I would try the video settings in the minecraft menu to see if you can fine tune the performance. But 60fps is smooth and any more than that is nice to have. I have the same graphics in my desktop and I got between 50-290fps(sometimes hitting 120-140fps). After adjusting some settings I did 100-200fps.

If dunc would give me my admin position back since I was mostly demoted for the fiasco with sponge but Sponge and I talked it over and we're all okay, then I would unban you right away for a one last chance effort.

Yeah I am Jai. I'll do it in a bit. Please try not to burn anything down! Remember, if you didn't build it, leave it alone!
