This will probably be a no then, mostly because of the viruses part, I don't have my own computer you see, I use my moms or my dads computer and there paranoid of viruses. :(

3. Members have been able run the game with 2GB of RAM in their computer but 3-4GB is recommended to be able to move data smoothly.

I used to run it with 1! It could only be played on minimum render distance and simple graphics though.

I use my Moms laptop, it has 4 viruses, corrupt files, damaged system and something wrong with the fan :p

For now it is, we've had it for a while, getting me an £800 gaming computer in November, so nothing to worry about :D

As long as you get Minecraft from the official place, I wouldn't worry about viruses.

I run Minecraft on 1gb, I can only use normal render and basic graphics, but it's fine.

It's not very likely to get viruses through Java. It's not something to worry about.

^^ I did use it with Mycraft and I did exactly what I said and it works... so either both of you are messing with some other file that isnt supposed to be there or yall just need to learn2read.

Firstly I don't like your tone.

Secondly, as far as I know if you edit the MC.jar and run MyCraft, it messes things up. Hmm, I'll have to look into it. :)

Oh god. No your not going to get viruses. Buy only the official Minecraft and update only official updates.

Do you have facebook, msn/hotmail, or any other email? Your about 100 times more likely to get it from one if those over Minecraft.

Very sorry Duncan, I was in the Thorncombe station, and I clicked on a Minecart with a chest in it, forgetting I had lava in my bucket, I accidentally placed it. It damaged some of the station, and as I said, I apologize. I tried rebuilding it my best, though, and I hope it's correct.

Okay then, No viruses 👍 Ill wait until I get a computer for Christmas then :)

Yeah dude, you'll be fine. Viruses can come from practically anywhere, and worrying about the chance that Minecraft itself will infect your computer is equivalent to avoiding walking because you might trip and break your neck. It'll be fine. Also, if/when you get your new computer, get Norton, if you can afford it. Would be a good idea for any new computers these days. Norton used to be crap, but it's pretty dece now, and is probably the best on the market. (Off topic, but just an FYI)

Anyways, I think I had one more question. If I get a new computer, sometime around Christmas, will I be able to, say pop the Minecraft files onto a USB and upload them to the new PC? I understand that, once bought, there'll be no DRM problems. So will a new PC pose any sort of problem or annoyance, or is it cool?

Other than that, I think I'll head over to Money Mart in the coming week and pick this game up. So long, for now, PS3....

AARRGH! Well, I made it with wood, so it was bound to happen. No worries. I see if i can get on now and have a look. shouldn't be too bad, seeing as fire was severely nerfed from earlier builds of MC

EDIT: Ryou did a good job of repairs. But all patched up now.

I became addicted to this 🤬 game and now I just can't stop playing it.

Would you mind adding me to the whitelist if possible?

My username is Danrp BTW, also, how many people usually play on the GTP server?

@Rocko: Right click "My Computer" or "Computer" ( Windows 7), that will show you your processor and RAM figures. ;)

If I am online in the server, pretty much lots of people are. :)
Around 6 but it seems like a lot due to my chatter. :sly:

Yeah, quite often there can be six of us at a time on there!

By the way, I just got a read timed out error, is this a problem on my end?

2 more questons, Where can I check my RAM and how many Gb is this?

Right click Computer (Or My Computer) and choose properties.

You won't get a virus from Minecraft and you won't get a virus from my server.

I highly, highly, highly disprove of the Norton suggestion. Trendmicro is far and away better. Even my free microsoft essentials catches more than the norton that came with my laptop.

Actually if you know what your doing on a computer and don't download unlicensed crap you don't need an anti-virus at all.

Agreed. I hate norton with a passion. As for transferring, if you're talking about worlds, yes it's quite easy to transfer between computers with USB

No worries Ryou, accidents happen. :)

Just increased the allocated RAM for minecraft using the guide on this page:
http://www.buxville.net/archive/index.php/t-6239.html

The invisibility (of everything but certain things like torch flames and fire smoke, and weapons/tools etc) I was experiencing should be no more, and I once again have it running on Far distance, which was working fine on SP till one day my computer changed it's mind.
512 card 2gig ram for reference. minecraft was limited to 247MB  when I checked with F3 but now it's beefed to 989MB

Also, who stole my TV?

Norton came with my crappy current computer, and it was crap. Avoid it like the plague.

I know if you use MCpatcher then it reverts back to the origional one which might be a reason why people say it doesnt work. (also I dont use the Mycraft from the minecraft folder)

Yes. The old family computer had Norton and it was slow. I'd recommend Avast. You can register to use it for free for a year and then renew the subscription. It can save you quite a few times. Also install Malwarebytes. It's pretty much the ultimate protection from malware for free.

Editing Minecraft.jar messes up MyCraft, that's what happened to me. Any mods can be installed just by dragging them to the 'mods' folder in the MyCraft folder. As tlowr has already said. 👍

Thats if you have mods I dont have mods since all the ones I want to use are not compatible with each other. but If its clean just mycraft it works without any problem.
