Hey guys, I'm new to minecraft, bought it a couple of days ago and just came across this! Never played the game online before but the single player mode is great, so can only be better with more people!

Server is lagging really badly at the moment. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
 
I got on to say that I would be on tomorrow since I had a lot of reading for some classes that I had to do tonight. So i'll be on tomorrow guys.
 
They have to let you turn that food crap off in the options. I won't be playing if it's not removable until a mod comes out to remove it. It's not bloody GTA San Andreas. 👎

So true!! But it's part of the survival skills!!
Yet, the Enderman seems like a worthy adversary.... I wanna see those on the server.... It will bring a whole new dimension to it! D:
 
Notch said you could play the game without needing food, implying that it's optional.
 
Yes. The food meter just lets you regenerate health more even when you are not supposed to when you are not in peaceful mode. Which is a factor you see in a lot of games... that are too easy(Such as L.A. Noir where you can get your health back if you stayed out of fire even if you are riddled with bullets).
 
So far I have heard that the NPC's will be in 1.9 and Skillpoints wont be usefull until 1.9 so a lot of the "good" features will be 1.9 instead of adding into 1.8 (Notch twitter) SO I guess it will just be like now with some new blocks and animation and a new mob, whoppie.

Who keeps digging under people's houses? It's getting really annoying and so is the huge hole around fiat's house

It's ok, that's just mine.... it's gonna be a floating house, I still have to "paint" the outside walls ;)
 
Villages without a main theme to work around will always look a bit messy.
 
Anybody have any good tips for getting diamond? I've just spent 2 hours mining under my house and have found nothing but iron, coal, and redstone.

Try and hit the diamond layer which I think is around 10-15 on y. Press F3 and look at the y bit to see how high/low you are.

It generally increases your chances of finding resources by mining deeper into the ground.
 
I'm wondering who took the trapdoors from the lava bridge. How many times has that bridge been repaired lol?
 
Branch mining helps too.
