Haven't been on for more than a week. Waiting for 1.8 before I begin new projects.
And I would be interested Dunc, depending on the role.

Try and hit the diamond layer which I think is around 10-15 on y. Press F3 and look at the y bit to see how high/low you are.

It generally increases your chances of finding resources by mining deeper into the ground.

Alright, will do. I've got my mining hole going 4 different directions at the moment. But now to write 2 1500 word essays for college. fun! not. Hopefully it won't be so late that I can get on again tonight and keep searching.

I would suggest getting a diamond/dungeon compass mod, will pinpoint the general location of diamonds within 4 blocks on your level (Can be modified up to 15.) http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/189739-173-finder-compass-diamonds-dungeons-anything/ I use it, also I am online right now and can help you out.
Edit I actually found some diamond that was very close to where you were digging already. lol I will put it in a chest upstairs.

Oh wow, so I guess I needed to just keep digging lol
 
I have a texture pack that might help you.
It highlights all of the ores a different color so you can just look down and find some diamond.
It also highlights lava, so you don't dig into a lava pit
 
September 12th is release date of 1.8 woot

So I'm trying to think what order to do things on (possibly) Monday when the update comes out. I think at that time, I will move our world to one side (temporarily) and have the server generate a brand new 1.8 world. We'll have a look around and enjoy all the new features, maybe even start building a new spawn point and spawn town/village. Then on possibly Tuesday or Wednesday I'll start trying to reintergrate the old world using multiworld. This is all assuming th that bukkit and multiworld will be ready for 1.8 at the time it is released. Which it probably wont be.
 
Maybe it's an idea to make a torrent for the current world so that people can share it?
 
Having read the mutliverse wiki, I might not do it how I said above. I might just use multiverse to generate a new 1.8 world and link it that way. This will likely put the server under load so I'll take it offline as anyone connecting will slow it down further. I guess we'll just have to see how it goes on Monday! I won't be doing anything though until the RAM upgrade from Nick arrives.
 
I'll be getting 1.8 when it comes out. Your server looks like so much fun! And do we get to pay with credit card?

I've posted on the DQCraft Forum what the plan is for the upgrade now.

I think I'll just finish off my new house then build anything else on the new world. BTW, if you want to generate an awesome new world try 'Glacier' as a seed. The landscape is immense!

I've seen some servers with that and its' f'in crazy!
 
we might have a problem 2 people are in the server both guests and have no clue who they are.

they are from a server 69.65.94.245
they are Danzemon and Harryandowen

Not sure the server could handle that! Im just going to do a normal generation.

They can't do anything as guests so I wouldn't worry. I'll be on shortly.
 
Got info from the two guests that Danzenom was refereed by Josh and Danzenom refereed harryandowen to the server.
 
I'm getting a really weird error message when trying to connect to the server. It says:

Connection Lost

HTTP response code: 503 for URL (insert web address).
