Missing Update Features?

...................Yup, you are excused!! :D
...Seriously though, yeah they are focusing on GT7 - probably as soon as GT6 began shipping. Promised features may come when they are good to go; dunno when that might be - right now I feel like there's 70% possibility that a Spec 2.0 update might come around this year and that has the missing features.
.............Not a darn thing we can do but sit tight and hold on....:indiff:

but now they are "focusing on gt7"
I missed that bit of news. Do you have a source so we can post it on the site's blog? As far as we're aware, the course creator is still in development - as is GT7.

I'm not sure how this is a GT6 review or GT6 feedback to belong in the GT6 Reviews & Feedback forum, but I'd struggle to know where to place this thread appropriately because I can't tell if this is a question of some kind or not.

The longer the course creator takes to arrive, the more I believe it will be amazing. But, perhaps that's just me being optimistic!

Seriously though, about 70% of the reason I bought gt6 was the promised course creator, and how epic it sounded. Kinda thought it would be in the game before the game was a $10 bargain bin special at EB though :/

It's hell of a way to keep the punters interested. Sell them three quarters of a game and dribble the last quarter to keep them on the hook.

Other than the promised course maker and B spec, they've been generous with all the free DLC's. Especially some of the unannounced ones.

With GT7 rumoured to be released late this year, no doubt they're focused on it. GT6 still has a diary of updates to get through still though. Whether it be the promised features (it had better be!) or the stunning Vision cars.

This is both a question and feedback. The feedback is that so many update features are being left out, and the question is why.

To be fair, I'm sure they've lost quite a few "punters" along the way, I personally know a few people who got sick of waiting and are now playing other games, but ironically they'll all (ok, most) will be back for GT7.

While the VGT project was initially a great idea, I can't help but think it was a filler, and still is, to keep us distracted from the fact that there isn't really much content flowing in. (It's not working)

If they haven't moved major resources to GT7, I really do not know what the hell they've been doing.

One would be a fool to assume that 100+ people (their employeebase) have been working on Course maker and/or B-spec all this time. I can't imagine there's more than 6-8 people working on the course maker, if that.

I would put large bets on the fact that their focus has been on GT7 for quite some months now.

Disclaimer: This is mostly speculation based on analysis of game progress since release, not solid fact.

I don't think they're being worked on after all this time. I think they're ready and just scheduled for a later date. PD have a pretty good track record with games so if they say it's coming, it's coming.

Obviously, that's just an opinion.

Wouldn't surprisee me if they just happened to lob as part of a major update in late Feb./early March which coincidentally is just about when pCars is released

My guess is that by the time PD releases course maker & b-spec most people who care about racing games will have already moved on to something else and given up on GT6.
Then there's the issue of GT6 not having proper races offline, which will probably never be fixed. I mean, the options are in the game but for some stupid reason they're only available online.

There's quite large portion of GT fans that simply transition from one GT game to another, playing the latest installment till the next game is out.

I wouldn't be surprised if majority of people that are waiting for course maker is among this dedicated group.

Feature like that seems like something used by more experienced GT players and/or someone who cares (back in 2013 and now) and not something that convinced a Forza fan to hop in.

I believe that even in a month or two there still will be a large group of people happy to see course maker and b-spec.

My guess is you will get to play the game you paid for for less than a year, the features will arrive & you will get as much as PD is going to do 8 months or so before they shut the servers.
Your best hope is probably then that GT7 sells badly & they decide to keep the servers open longer.

So if your going to buy GT7 wait for the bargain bin & buy a more complete game at a fraction of the price, you at least want to wait till they have finished meddling with the handling & other crucial things.

PD don't listen, PD don't learn GT7 will probably be very similar to previous releases in this respect.

That said as I seem to have become anti PD the GT series is still very good value, not many games even if incomplete that you can play for the length of time you probably play GT. A lot of modern games your done in 20 hours or less.

Missing Update Features are:

B-Spec
Course Maker
Shuffle Racing

I don't think they ever mentioned bringing back Shuffle, but even though I never really did it much, It's one of those things that bewilder me when it got removed. Like, why take out good content that isn't hurting anybody? Kaz has done this SO many times with different things for no obvious or rational reason.

This is both a question and feedback.
The only question you asked was "Excuse me?", which rather seems rhetorical.
The feedback is that so many update features are being left out
Oddly, we're only aware of the fact they haven't been added yet, like all of the other features that were posted on the site as "Coming in a future update" that came in updates. However...
and the question is why.
Well... according to your post, they're "focusing on gt7" (sic), so you answered your own unposed question.

So we're still at the position of really needing your source so we can update GTPlanet's news blog. The fact they've abandoned these features because of the focus on GT7 is big news and we should be posting about it.

Well, my post wasn't worded very well. And I didn't get my explanation correct.
This is just feedback, not a question. "Excuse me?" is rhetorical.

It is not confirmed that focus has shifted, but there has been no mention of these features by Kaz, but a lot about GT7.
There is no revolutionary news.
I am simply saying that I am worried that these update features MIGHT be abandoned.

Now for the source, I actually found it in another post somewhere, so it's not reliable because now I realize it was opinion. But I did find a couple of blurbs about it:
http://help.howproblemsolution.com/68900/so-gt7-is-now-really-on-its-way-when-and-what-can-we-expect

I mean to clear this up: I am not confirming any of this, and I made a mistake to not clearly outline that.
Here is what I really should have said:

"Course Maker and B-Spec were promised ages ago, but now I feel that focus is shifting on GT7, because Kaz hasn't said a word about these features, but a lot about GT7. Will they ever get released?"

I was, to be quite honest, a bit irritated when I wrote the original post, and I should have thought this out a bit better. Sorry...

Amusingly, that feeds back to GTPlanet - specifically this thread - though that's also a speculation thread.

Ah, well that's much easier to answer. "Yes, they will... probably."

There were originally 12 items on the "Update" list at the bottom of this page. There are now two - B-Spec and Course Maker. The other ten have all been delivered by update, exactly as the subheading for that category says ("These features will be implemented in future updates."). It seems less likely that these features will be canned for GT6 than that they'll be included in a future update - not least because the items on the list were all originally used to advertised the game and it's phenomenally shaky legal ground for advertised features penned in as arriving in future updates to the game to never make it.

It's probably fair to be disappointed that they aren't here yet - it's been a year after all - but not to be pessimistic about their likelihood of appearing at all. Aside from currently hitting nearly 90% of their pre-release update promises, they're kinda legally obligated too.

Ok, thanks for the help!

24 minutes, or 7 Laps at Le Mans, or 3 Laps at Nurburgring, or 10 laps at Spa, is not endurance. Not even close.
True.
Also, PD made the incredibly stupid decision of making mechanical damage & fuel/tyre wear unavailable in arcade mode, meaning we can't setup our own endurance races offline, the only way to do an actual endurance race is if we happen to have a group of friends to play online.
GT5 had mechanical damage, fuel/tyre wear, and full 16-car grid in arcade mode, it makes no sense why those features were removed in GT6.

I know why....
