Is the gearing for the Honda Accord Type R at all accurate? Somehow I doubt the actual car had gearing as tall as it is in game.

i fixed them a while ago, iirc the ratios are fine, just a wrong final drive
So basically the same scenario as the DB7?

Also, I think the Chrysler Phaeton's power output is overinflated. The car is listed at over 500 horsepower in the garage, when the actual concept vehicle supposedly has only 425 horsepower (I think this is what the dealer listed). The car's V12 engine was basically two Chrysler LH V6 engines joined together, and 425 horsepower sounds believable from such an engine. The LH is even featured in game in the Copperhead. And the Copperhead's weight is also probably misquoted too; the number I've heard from elsewhere is 2855 pounds, not 2160.

Also, why was the Jaguar XJR called the XJR "Vehicle" before?

Hello pez, thank you for your hard work (and to thers too). Just wanted to ask if its possible 1 certain feature i was missing from GT1; and thats the gear ratio graph in transmission setup.
Is it even possible to add?
Its now a guesswork in GT2.

Also, i am all for setting the horsepower as the same value throughout every version of this mod :)

This would be a great addition to the game. I second this :)

Adding new features would need the game source code, so no, not possible.

I missed these as they were edited in after I read the original post - I don't think it's worth worrying about exact performance figures for the concept cars when it's quite possible that one or both were never even functional cars. The Phaeton may have been a body on a truck chassis to let them roll it about.

For the XJR, as far as I'm aware it's speculated that it was a Japanese-market trademark conflict with the Yamaha XJR bikes, but no idea on what the truth is really.

It's been a great job so far @pez2k, your modding project has come along nicely and I like a lot of the changes you done. Also appreciate finally having a couple more cars restored from the demos complete with their own physics. I was also happy to notice one of them being able to compete in its one-make race event.

With that said, I'm working on my own showcase video for your mod like I've done before. Except here, I'm going to basically mention every change it has over the normal GT2; mainly as a guide to newcomers. Part of me though including the prize car list, but in the spirit of your idea of making the prize cars a mystery; I won't do that. Rather, I'll perhaps just place those new prize cars in a separate video with a spoiler tag I guess, maybe have a mystery prize car icon as the thumbnail.

I totally agree with this. GT2+ is such a modding marvel. Physics, colors, events, all things that have been restored, that never made it to the discs we saw on display at the local electronics store, are here now. It makes this patch serve as the definitive upgrade. Still waiting for a JP soundtrack patch though :)

I want to ask if theres plams for a version which will add more things than cd can comtain, whereas making it playable only on some particular programs?

Excellent, looking forward to seeing it, thanks.

The disc size has never really been an obstacle at any point to be honest. I have no plans for any version that doesn't work on a PS1 console though, as to me that kind of misses the point of it being a modification / bugfix of a PS1 game.

This exists (and does work with Plus) but it doesn't add anything new to the game.

Could you restore Impreza Rally Car (from The Grand Valley Endurance prize car) power back to 575 HP like in previous GT1??

I most likely won't, as it was probably intentionally changed to be more balanced with the other rally cars such as the Escort. All of the tools are available for someone else to do it though.

Then what will happen to the Celica Rally Car? That has over 550 horsepower and like the Impreza that's a completely fictionacar.

Will the Renault Clio V6 transmission ever get changed? It only has a 5 speed in game when all production examples had a 6 speed, and the stock transmission is too short.

My only question is how hard would it be to rather than add the 1997 Viper colors to the 1999 Vipers in GT2, to make the actual 1997 Vipers separate cars? and then add them to the dealership like what you did with some of the other cars like the Rufs?

Probably not practical. The Rufs were already hidden in the game as car bodies. There are no hidden 1997 Viper bodies in the game.

They were hidden in the demos though and the GTS was playable with its own physics.

I'm not sure. It's a concept car that never had any real specs - the 6-speed production car was a full two years after GT2 came out. It also has more power and a fair bit less weight than the eventual production car, and while the V6 Trophy race car debuted later in 1999 that's again quite different in terms of figures. Also, the production drivetrain was donated from the Laguna V6, and as of 1999 the Laguna still had a 5-speed, which for me leans towards retaining that.

My only question is how hard would it be to rather than add the 1997 Viper colors to the 1999 Vipers in GT2, to make the actual 1997 Vipers separate cars?

It wouldn't be hard, it just requires four duplicate bodies (both Vipers and their RMs) plus two sets of duplicate parts. The mod is already right at the limit of how many bodies and parts that the game can handle, so I'd have to start removing some of the restored cars to do so. This is also why the black Castrol Supra colours are merged into the original prize car instead of having two.

I was wondering: @pez2kis, are you looking for translators?

Not really to be honest, I can't think of anywhere that text has been added that needs to be localised. GT2 has quite a lot of unlocalised text to begin with, and most of what I've added is just car names which are naturally language-independent.

Okay, that's good to know and yeah I figured that you were at the limit of what you can do. I was kinda asking because one day I might want to try modding again and do this myself.

It's certainly on my to-do list too. I want to write some tools to make recolours a bit quicker to do, but I've been occupied with other things recently.
How many other recolors do you have planned?
