Infection – The infected kills enemies to recruit them for the infected team.
Drop Zone – Hold the Drop Zone for Team Points and Care Packages.

Over the weekend, a truck carrying a video game shipment in France, which was worth around 400,000 Euros, was robbed

Piracy is usually an issue most publishers worry about before a big video game release. But they usually don't worry about this occurring in the form of a delivery truck heist. Until now.

Over the weekend, a truck carrying a video game shipment in France, which was worth around 400,000 Euros, was robbed. The shipment reportedly contained 6,000 copies of "Modern Warfare 3."

The delivery truck, which was traveling in Créteil, south Paris, collided with a car on Saturday. While stopping to handle the situation, two masked individuals appeared and used tear gas to distract the truck drivers. The individuals then stole the video game shipment that the truck contained.

Activision, MW3 publisher outside of Japan, has gone back and forth lately about whether or not it would place a ban on those who played the new game online early. Initially, Stephen Tolouse, director of Policy and Enforcement for Xbox Live, tweeted "dblchk'd with Activision. Mw3 pre-release play not authorised. So pls be patient. Playing early may impact your account!"

Later, Robert Bowling, Infinity Ward creative strategist, tweeted that no ban would be placed on those that played online early.

"No plans to ban legit fans, but try to wait til midnight launch on Tuesday to play #MW3," Bowling tweeted. "Can't wait to jump online with everyone then!"

But with inevitable leaks and online gameplay via the reported heist, they may rethink the ban. However, the game is already expected to be released at midnight tonight.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" is an upcoming first-person shooter video game that is the third installment in the "Modern Warfare" series. It was developed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software and Treyarch (for the Wii). MW3 will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS and Microsoft Windows as early as midnight on November 8.

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding the new MW release. Retailers are preparing special offers in hopes of snagging gamers that plan to pick up a copy. For instance, Best Buy is throwing in a free HTC smartphone with the purchase of MW3, and others like Amazon and Kmart are offering Xbox Live membership deals.
Sounds like the robbers went all TF141 on the drivers! Amazing they went through this much trouble to get copies one day early.

Them COD fans who wanted to get MW3 one day early need to get a life, just say goodbye to your old friend Black Ops or something. :indiff:

Companies have been selling "gaming glasses" for a while now. Activision just decided to cash in this time around.

I think it has less to do with playing the game early and more to do with selling 6000 copies for personal profit.

Think about it not from a COD fan POV but from a thief/crook/whatever you name it perspective. It's not about having the game earlier, it's about the value these games currently have.

In a week or two, the market will be flooded with MW3 copies and possibly even second hand ones could already be available. The price any COD fan is willing to pay for it will (even slightly) drop.

What happened is not really about owning MW3 earlier. It's about how much profit the robbers can make of it as of NOW.

Alright, whilst at school today I got some very differing opinions about Elite. I only have two questions, because I can't be sure on any of the sites I find, most are just about Hardened Package.

1. Does buying Elite by itself (no Hardened) give you all the DLC that ever comes out, like it says in the Hardened details, and;

2. Does buying Elite today still give you Founder status?

Maybe you can buy it from best buy, maybe their website is lying. I don't trust best buy. I do know game stop is sold out of them though.

Technically it would be illegal to provide false online services to the public so i doubt their website is lying. I ordered from best buy because i trust them. Pretty much every electronic i own has come from best buy and ive never had problems, also i ordered from them because they were the only ones that still carry hardened edition.

boomee
I wouldnt hold my breath remeber what happend when alot of people ordered the collectors edition of Forza at best buy dont hold your breath that you will get a hardend only days befor the game comes out

Well i wont get it until my bday anyway so that wont affect me

1. yes it does

2. not sure but i believe not

well it appears im wrong on question 2 http://www.unscripted360.com/2011/11/03/founders-status-with-modern-warfare-3-cleared-up/

Also for those in the u.k tesco are doing an online deal of MW3 for £25 when bought with a £25 psn card. So you can basically get mw3 and elite for £60, best i've seen. However dont expect it for release day but does that really matter?

Yeah Those glasses were announced a couple of months ago suppose to stop eyestrain or at least slow it down I think only a pro gamer would need something like that.

These are nothing new, Gunnar has been selling them for a while and EG tends to make a point about them SteelSeries has their own as well.

Basically, the benefit is a touch warmer tones and anti-glare. You'll basically get the effect from a decent pair of glass or high contrast sunglasses. And you can just calibrate the colors correctly on your display.

One last question: If I buy Elite now, what happens if they release DLC after my year runs out? I thought I read somewhere that you got everything that ever came out, but I can't find it. Sorry for my indecisiveness guys, funds are low and I'm trying to make sure this is a smart buy beforehand!

You recieve the dlc that is released while your subscription is active. That dlc you get too keep. Any dlc released afterwards you wont recieve unless you renew your subscription.

Yeah, I think I should just wait and buy DLC as it comes. Hopefully those beginner tournaments aren't too fun, and if they are, I can buy it later and just not have Founder. Thanks bro 👍.

I hope you like paying $15 each time. I hope they release about 10 DLCs and you're all like fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu each time.

Didn't buy MW2 DLC, didn't affect my gameplay in any way so why should it now.

Meh, they said a $60 value and maybe by skipping one I can save 5 bucks. And I'm probably gonna end up buying right before the DLCs start releasing if the competitions for lower level players look fun, which is a selling point for me. All I'm losing today is Founder, which isn't a big deal for me.

They said it will be more than just map packs this time, which is what interests me.

Hmm, I can see what happens there. Maybe if there are new weapons released I might get it, won't really bother with the rest.
Besides maps, weapons, outfits, tags/emblems what can they do?

I would just be interested in maps, weapons, and new game modes unless something really went off the coolness meter.

If that isn't worth it then I don't know. I always buy DLC the night it comes out.

Some people just cant afford it all of the COds seems complete with out the DLC. The DLC is icing on the cake but its cool though.economy is rough right now for alot of people ya know?

I believe they plan to release expansions for their survival mode. A weapons dlc is tricky as not everyone will get access to it.
