Motorcycles in GT5?

You want bikes in GT5?

In my GT blog, I thought of what kind of future motorcycles would have in the Gran Turismo series. I think one possibility would be that these motorcycles would be great in the Gran Turismo rather than as a Tourist Trophy sequel (which is also a possibility). Something tells me that PD wouldn't want to spend extra development in a project other than Gran Turismo at this time. So to me, it would be most likely that if motorcycles were to return (even if it's every last motorcycle in Tourist Trophy re-touched for the PS3), they would all be part of the GT5 lineup of machines.

The question is if I would want motorbikes in GT5. And my answer- yes. I even want to know how many motorcycles could you fill the grid with in GT5. Twelve bikes to a grid should be absolutely no problem. Sixteen bikes, however, would be sweet.

I would say I want it as well if they are not going to make a TT2. Tourist Trophy was the most realistic bike game. new ones can't compare other than graphics so a TT 2 dedicated game would be cool....

On the other hand the positive side of putting a TT spec in in gt5 would be that we already have Top Gear Test Track and they have had many episodes where they challenged a car against a bike. would be LOTS of fun in my opinion. everybody is thinking "but superbikes won't be fair against cars" well if you never played tt they had as wide of a range of bikes in it as gt5 (not in sheer numbers but there were a LOT of bikes and a vast performance range)

GT5 TT Spec DLC wouldn't be really hard for them to do because the original tt ran on gt4 courses give or take 1 or 2. as long as they made it adjustable in rooms so that you could restrict bikes for car only races and bike only racing...... could you imagine 16 bikes being controlled by people on online!!!!! all my friends and I had epic 2 player battles but to have 12 or 16 people controlling like humans would instead of the AI. WOW

I used to be able to whole track drift various bikes in tt........can you say car and bikes drifting together??????????? here's a real life example of car and bike drift......

Some car purists would be against all of this but I've given real life examples with top gear and the nick apex car and bike drift and well TT was made by PD a company you all support (other than you PD haters that still play this year old "game" as they call it that they hate so much HAHAHAHA)

Just maybe this could generate longer online support for GT5 as well......

Have you never heard Jeremy Clarkson talk about motorbike fans ? he claims they are all homosexuals (Something to do with the leathers) ! I would definitely want more cars NOT bikes !

hahahahaha yeah he hates them......but can he ride one?? really can he? I don't know

As much as I love top gear and the cast Jeremy Clarkson is not the deciding factor for how one thinks. he's just another human being with an opinion that gets to drive amazing cars for a job and he is quite well at his job. and calling people homo's by taking the words of somebody else and not just saying it yourself is kinda 👎 AND if you want to use homo as a reason to not have bikes in gt5 I'll venture to say more homo's drive cars than bikes.....not bashing anybody here at all just making a statistical guess


and I'm done with this thread after this post...

either way I'm stoked with GT5 and would love a TT2 but also see epic match ups possible with a tt spec. said my opinion and that's all I am entitled to.

This. I loved tt really much, but i don't feel like i want bikes in gt5..
I'd really like a tt2 anyway.

But, i wonder, since kaz was thinking about this, it's possible that they have already model of bikes and the physic ready? I guess this is an useless question since nobody knows lol.
 
Here's my thing, though. I would be all in for a Tourist Trophy sequel. There aren't as many people who love motorcycles as much as cars. But, oh... we'd sure love racing motorcycles in games like the Midnight Club series and even in the first Test Drive Unlimited (excluding the PS2 one, which didn't include any). I still would want to see a TT2, but my fear is that some people are going to play a game with motorcycles in a motorcycle-only environment. Were people too disappointed with the first Tourist Trophy that the only way you'd make them care about riding motorcycles is to put them in a Gran Turismo?

That's why I mentioned "bikes in GT," because I'm not sure if people would actually enjoy (not just buy) a Tourist Trophy sequel when more people would probably race cars more than bikes. And I don't even look at this as cars vs. motorcycles. All due respect... I'd rather go bike vs. bike and car vs. car rather than bike vs. car. It is not that I would disregard a cars ve. motorcycles matchup, but I don't think there would be any point in coming up with a TT sequel if more people cared about cars than motorcycles, and that also applies if people didn't think that Tourist Trophy was just GT4 with motorcycles.


I'm just saying that the best fit would either be GT5 having motorcycles or if PD actually created a Tourist Trophy sequel. There needs to be more motorcycle racing games just to offer diversity among racing game types. However (and for best visibility), something like motorcycles in GT5 would be as fun of a diversion from GT5 as doing any of the kart racing or anything like that. It sounds like I'm contradicting myself from my previous post, but those are really the two best options as far as any future of motorcycles in Polyphony Digital racing games.

Not in my opinion. The more appropriate content the better.
First things first I have no appreciation of motorbikes at all. I'm just not interested in them for no real notable reason. With this in mind my opinion may be biased.
Gran Turismo for me has always been about cars, more specifically the 200-300 hp type. To me it's what represents the style of Gran Turismo most. This is what PD should focus on.
Gran Turismo has an unusual twist that consists of arcade and simulation. Keeping that balance keeps the magic. Keeping that balance keeps me hooked. The idea of the addition of anything other than an automobile ruins that balance for me. I'm not saying that a Gran Turismo game would be bad because of it at all, just that it would not be a Gran Turismo to me, it would be a completely different game. The thought of PD doing anything other that Gran Turismo (as I know it) is a bit saddening.
If motorbikes plus cars is what you want, I'll suggest you look at PGR4 on the Xbox 360. 👍
 
They should just make Tourist Trophy 2. There's no need to add bikes to GT5 or GT6 IMO

You drive a car, you ride a bike. I don't want bikes in GT5. Sure they can put them in, but I would much rather they focussed their time on other things.


Always remember, to put something in they have to NOT put something else in.
 
Sorry, I feel like the main focus should be cars. It would be cool to maybe integrate the two in the future, however, I just don't think right now is an appropriate time.

No, please not. It is a car game. If I liked bikes I will buy a bike game. I hate bikes so please let them out. If they are in I would be considering of not buying GT games again, and all the waiting would have been for nothing. If they are in GT5 then get out of my way cause I will crush you with my car. Don't get me wrong I am very clean in driving cars against cars but the hate for bikes is to big:censored:.

I would love to see bikes in their own events. Can't imagine bikes and cars on the ring at the same time, although it does happen IRL.
