The original GTHD slated for PS3 had bikes in it, Even a tidbit of samples in the Demo, I have a feeling Kazunori did not take bikes out of the game. With carts confirmed, The probability of seeing a bike is Very high, and i welcome the idea, as long as their Separate, i mean i liked the idea in granturismo HD.

GT4 Engine Notes: Kazunori Yamauchi Interview
http://www.computerandvideogames.com....php?id=116051

Finally, the racing game market seems to be going two ways: the over-the-top action racer; and the more authentic Gran Turismo-style driving experience. Do you think there's space in the console market for both these styles of game, and do you plan to merge the Gran Turismo brand with this other, more action-oriented style?

Kazunori Yamauchi: I don't think we really need to make a definite distinction between these two types of game. The 'flashy' driving game and the more realistic driving game don't need to compete against each other, and I don't think they are going to collide in the future. By this I mean that I do not want to deny people who prefer 'flashy' driving games, or a different kind of automobile lifestyle, access to the GT universe.

To this end, there are opportunities in the future for us to expand the GT universe in different directions while still keeping the core 'realness' of the GT brand at the centre of everything. Imagine that the authenticity of Gran Turismo is a multi-faceted shape with many different faces. That is what I am planning - to satisfy the desires of every automotive lifestyle while still remaining true to the GT brand.

Only when the basics are set can you forge ahead and take things in a new direction. With GT4, I think we have set the basics very well.

This to me almost hints at the chance of PD including motorcycles in GT somewhere in the futre.

Dear God, don't give PD any more ideas for content they "have" to add before the release and delay it more.

Motorcycles would be something they add after release, at least. . . thats what Kaz said.

Personally, i wouldn't mind having Motorcycles in GT5. Racing both together and separate from cars.

Would be awesome in my opinion.

i want to point out there is a TT section on GTP which is extremely silent at the moment and with no confirmation TT2 will actually materialise perhaps some more regular visitors will start to get it back to life as TT2 is being discussed there.Since PD seems to admit reading these pages, a bit more discussion on that section might persuade them there is still enthusiasm for TT2.
Wishful thinking i know, GT5 is coming and will demand all my attention for a while, and then suddenly there it is, the real riding simulation part 2.:)

There we go, post away

If they add this as DLC down the line, I wouldnt have any problem with it. As I said in another thread, more features is more features, I wont turn them down.

If I had a problem with this then I'd also have an issue with nascar and karts in this game. The only thing ive said about this issue is them spending time on these features when only 20% of the cars in the game are fully completed. Im not into this premium cars concept. If you're going to do something, don't half ass it and play it off like it's a feature or selling point. Not all of the cars are done, end of story. It has far less cars with an interior cam than Forza does, and I dont care about the detail in them. When I play I stare at the road.

Its not just the interiors, but only these 200 something cars feature realistic damage. Why are they building nascar into this when I could buy a nascar game if I wanted to, and the other 800 something cars have crap damage?

So my point is if they want to keep adding features, such as bikes, thats fine with me, as long as finishing the main game itself is also on the agenda.

Yes. But it should be across the whole thing. Total damage to the extent the licenses will allow along with interiors and etc. If they include bikes I' want full mods and damage on those as well.

The thing is with all the other features in the game. It seems to be themed to what if. What if a Nascar raced against an ASL Garaiya JGTC?

So why not have what if a Veyron tried to take on a Hayabusa?

I don't see the issue that sooo many people are having with bringing bikes to GT. What are you worried about or afraid of? Getting beaten by a bike online?

Or being forced to race motorcycles that are difficult to handle?

If you keep the completion of the two careers separate I don't see the issue.

But if people want to run bikes against cars why stop them. Because a good percentage of people don't like the idea, everyone else has to suffer? WTF?

Where's the reasoning in that in a Sim that's supposed to be about the freedom of racing under and away from rules in an environment as close to realistic as possible?

By the way, only the first line was aimed at you cygnus_zero. The rest was meant in general. So, sorry if it came off as a rant aimed at you.

Im sort of in the middle of this... And heres why;
Gran Turismo is about driving. Driving is done on motorbikes aswell as cars, but if they were to add motorbikes would it be MotoGP type bikes? Or would it be Harley-Davidson's and other non-racing bikes?

If they were to add bikes im sure that it would be just like in the Rally events where you can only use a certain type of vehicles (Bikes only). It could also see a new development of using Sixaxis Motion Control in the game, using it as balance on the motorbike as you turn corners, sort of putting you in control a bit more.

But there would also be a downside towards it, as a lot of you have stated, GT is more about cars then other things, so it could be a potential drop for the game, meaning you'd have to do something you don't enjoy to complete a game that you enjoy thouroghly.

GT already has all of the car racing in it, besides the Australian V8's, American Indy-Cars and NASCAR, but I wouldn't see why they wouldn't add it if they had the option, since they have F1's, Touring Cars and LM cars. They could just hit another part of the market and attract more buyers.

I really want motorbikes as well. With a guideline. I don't want it to have an affect on the completion of GT5. You should be able to race with cars if you want, but in temrs of career completion it should have no affect. Maybe for arcade mode only or somethin.

I think it would mess with the phsyics modelling too much to be honest, think of all the tweaks tthat would be needed to the engine, it would water down the GT experiene IMO.

Also I remember racing online on PGR4, when the bikes and cars go up against one another things get ugly as the bikes corner much slower (and use different racing lines) and all it takes is for one biker to get knocked off and things degenerate into a slanging match as people start hurling excuses and blame.

I voted No. I don't want bikes in GT series at all. (I want more premium cars intead of bikes) .. personally feel its a waste of time for them. Stick to bikes In Tourist Trophy..

I can't wait till there will be motorcycles involved. Hopefully this will be realised.
And some up to date bikes and not a copy of the old Tourist Trophy. Although that might do for the time being. :)
