This morning I discovered that MrUnknown received a ban. What did he do? He seems like one of the friendlier members on GTP. Is this a peema-ban?

The reason someone is banned is between said person and the staff. All anyone really needs to know is they violated the AUP.

And yes, it is permanent.
What a shame.

MrUnknown was a really nice guy, but probably this wasn't the 1st time he crossed the line, but it was the last one. He was probably in his last chance at GTP, and he blew it. Simple as that.

What a shame.
The staff never looks to ban people. I've said before that I wouldn't mind in the least not needing to help keep people true to their word when they sign up and say they'll follow the AUP. So they'll get no sympathy from me.

It takes a lot, no, a HELL of a lot to be banned in one shot and even then it's occasionally not permanent. You'll get countless warnings before you're no longer welcome here.

Well, I don't know how the system works here TB, I've never got a warning and I don't pretend to haha

Does anyone remember Singram Jack? He got banned on his first post, for posting a thread promoting Jivam Skin Care, which is somewhere in Africa, in the Cars in General Forum.

Bots/spammers are banned instantly.
For what reason? Ads for numerous things are posted all over the site for non-premium members.

And how by chance, did you come to this conclusion?
His grammar was good, and he wrote 7-8 paragraphs about the company. I also don't think a spambot would name themselves Singram Jack.

And for all we know, Singram could be a major GT enthusiast. That was definitely not the first time a new member has posted an irrelevant thread in the wrong forum.

Please tell me you're joking and that you actually know what a spambot is.

The grammar might have been ok because a real person typed it, and then thousands of spambots distribute it on the internet.

Sorry, I don't commit to memory every non-human spambot we get here. I'd have to start deleting Simpsons quotes from my memory to make room and that just isn't going to happen.
You're a GTP moderator, you should remember this stuff.
