This morning I discovered that MrUnknown received a ban. What did he do? He seems like one of the friendlier members on GTP. Is this a peema-ban?
Sure thing. I'll ask Daan about the banning of MrUnknown. You'd probably be better off DM'ing a moderator...
The reason someone is banned is between said person and the staff. All anyone really needs to know is they violated the AUP.Sure thing. I'll ask Daan about the banning of MrUnknown.
What a shame. The reason someone is banned is between said person and the staff. All anyone really needs to know is they violated the AUP.
And yes, it is permanent.
The staff never looks to ban people. I've said before that I wouldn't mind in the least not needing to help keep people true to their word when they sign up and say they'll follow the AUP. So they'll get no sympathy from me.What a shame.
It takes a lot, no, a HELL of a lot to be banned in one shot and even then it's occasionally not permanent. You'll get countless warnings before you're no longer welcome here.but probably this wasn't the 1st time he crossed the line

Does anyone remember Singram Jack? He got banned on his first post, for posting a thread promoting Jivam Skin Care, which is somewhere in Africa, in the Cars in General Forum. The staff never looks to ban people. Banned User LogMrUnknown - 11th May 2015 - Apparently, the idiot wasn't quite done. He is now.

I don't think he was a spambot.Well spambots do tend to get the Super Special treatment. For obvious reasons.

Jivam Skin Care, in the Cars in General Forum.
I don't think he was a spambot.
For what reason? Ads for numerous things are posted all over the site for non-premium members.Bots/spammers are banned instantly.
His grammar was good, and he wrote 7-8 paragraphs about the company. I also don't think a spambot would name themselves Singram Jack. And how by chance, did you come to this conclusion?

And for all we know, Singram could be a major GT enthusiast. That was definitely not the first time a new member has posted an irrelevant thread in the wrong forum.
Yes.A spambot is a human spamming or is it a robot?-
What???Yes.
GTP isn't a spot for free-advertising. Owning a website ain't cheap you know. For what reason? Ads for numerous things are posted all over the site for non-premium members.
So do advertisers like Google AdSense have to pay to advertise on GTP?View attachment 358207GTP isn't a spot for free-advertising. Owning a website ain't cheap you know.
Thanks so much! I felt like an idiot for not completely knowing the definition of a spambot.
Sorry, I don't commit to memory every non-human spambot we get here. I'd have to start deleting Simpsons quotes from my memory to make room and that just isn't going to happen.Does anyone remember Singram Jack? He got banned on his first post, for posting a thread promoting Jivam Skin Care
