weve messed with that, but no matter what, all our "Garage" cars rip through the tires through like 4th gear, and control is very difficult, but then we choose a stock car and theres no problem. No its not cause of power cause we drive the same cars in singple player races and its fine...
You may have checked this, but just to be sure:
Check the tires on them. Stock cars cannot use racing tires, racing cars cannot use standart tires.
You could try using the search function on this forum for "multiplayer," or something along those lines.
Beyond that, the only other idea I've got is that suspension settings, gearing, etc. don't transfer between cars. Someone else surely knows more than me. Sorry I can't help any more.

Someone forgot to tell you that the cars in standard mode use traction control. In two player with the computer cars if you turn that off and race someone that is using traction control you will get hammered. The lack of traction is exaggerated in arcade mode with two player. We're just looking for a solution that will allow better racing all around. I'm sure you will not beat the game with your driving aids turned completely off. Who does this?

Are you refering to GT or Arcade mode here, because both provide the option to turn off traction control. In GT mode the level of TCS can be varied or turned off, in Arcade mode its just a simple on/off function.

I can't agree with this in any way at all, my brother always uses TCS and I can beat him in timeed runs in GT mode or in 2-player arcade, I never use TCS. While your statement may be true for yourself, you can't apply it as a blanket statement for everyone.

Have to say I have never noticed that the lack of traction is exaggerated in arcade mode, I always run with TCS set to 0 in GT mode and with TCS off in Arcade mode.

A large number of people here at GTP have 100% completion in GT4 and I am quite sure that a number of them will have not used driving aids at all. As before, just because you may not be able to do it, does not mean that no one can.
Personally I am at 60% (approx) without using any driving aids at all. I have my own form of TCS, its called my right foot, with a DFP its more than possiable to modulate the throttle to control traction.

In 2 player mode first pick any arcade car and turn driving aids on for both players, then on the bottom of the screen you will see the option to change
cars, select change and then pick cars from your garage and presto" you have
driving aids for your cars, then select start race. 👍
PS. I don't know why PD made the game this way but it works.
Edit. I forgot, you have to redo this every time you change cars or tracks.

To save on tire wear in GTmode (Vs. AI) traction control set at 1 or at most two will help

No one will out run me in Arcade mode with the Traction Control turned off!

Pick rear wheel drive cars from you own garage with no traction control and go for it then you'll see what we're talking about.
Also go to the professional or extreme league nurburgring races turn off all driving aids and let me know how you fair!!

I'm at 79% complate with no driving aids. It is just as easy to drive without them as long as you keep the cars out of the grass exspecially when braking.

A bold claim indeed, now I have no way of knowing how good you are. the best way I know of seeing how you fair against the really fast members (of which I am not one) is to register and enter the On-Line Racing series.
A lot of the top members in the OLR series run without any driver aids, so would be the ideal place to start.

I just ran a Cerbera Speed 12 (about the most extreme RWD I could think of) in both two player and normal arcade, no driver aids at all and N2 tyres just for fun.
The level of traction is not noticable different from running the car in GT mode with all the driver aids set to 0.

I're raced in both leagues on the 'ring and beaten them with no driver aids, its more than possiable, and as I said above I'm not one of the fastest.
If you can modulate the throttle you do not need TCS, its just a case gradually applying the throttle rather than going straight to wide open throttle.
Please be aware that my comments are based on my exerience with GT4 and from comments posted by others. I am, personally, far quicker without driver aids than with them, I also find I enjoy driving more like this.
However, I know that its not the same for everyone. I have no problem with your comments that you find you are quicker when using Traction Control; so I find it hard to understand why you don't seem to believe that others can be quicker without them.
It just down to personally preference, not worth getting worked up about.

I've done about 61-62% of the game so far with no driving aids.
The only time that I have traction control on is when I've forgotten that on all new cars it's a default setting.
I beat one of the Nurburgring races in the extreme hall in a Jaguar XJR-9 Race car, with no driving aids. I can get it spinning the rear wheels all the way up to 3rd gear if I wanted
Sounds like you just need to work on driving with no driving aids. Traction control is nice, but I don't use it out of personal preference, and Auto-Stability-Management only slows me down.
Work on your driving style and car set up(suspension, downforce, LSD, etc.) set up and I'm sure it'll get easier.
If you have the Driving force pro steering wheel it makes throttle control and steering much more precise.

Try putting the best part of 1000bhp through relatively narrow road tyres in real life and you'll probably change your opinion.
I don't think anyone can complete the game without aids, but only because some of the driving missions force the driver to use aids. I only use aids for monstrous cars and when I do, I leave the ASM firmly off
If you get into the habit of learning to drive without aids, you will refine your inputs (e.g. squeezing on the throttle rather than mashing it) and your laptimes should fall. Start off in a reasonably low powered rear wheel drive car (something like a BMW M3 or a Nissan Silvia) and see how many laps you can drive without spinning. As you get better, either increase the power of the car or decrease the grip of the tyres. It's more satisfying in the end when you can actually sense when the tyres are nearing their limit and back off the throttle to keep control.

I take it from your statement that you have driven very few (if any) high BHP rear wheel drive cars.
Rapidly going to wide open throttle in a car of this nature is likely to spin the tyres, however bhp is not the only factor. The gearing, tyre type, road surface and weather are all going to play a part.
Quite a few RWD cars I have driven will light up the back tyres if you are to heavy on the throttle in 2nd or 3rd, and when Evo road tested the TVR Speed 12 they had little problem lighting up the rears in the first 5 gears with partialy worn slicks fitted!
Quite the opposite of your statement is true, in a high BHP car, you need to take care with throttle application or run the risk of spining the driven wheels.
The best solution is to fit stickier tyres, but even this will not be able withstand the level of torque delivered to the driven wheels in a very powerful car. You just can't change the laws of physics.

In my friend's old '70 GTO, 428, 4spd and LSD, which was stock and fairly tired by the time we were driving it in 1982, we could easily light the back tires at launch and get through all 4 gears in less than a carlength of burnout. So I'm with Scaff - torque will overcome traction easily unless you've got some feel to the way you put the throttle down.
