play.com site were gt5 IN STOCK friday,
after that ShopTo.net charged money from pre-order buyers
but until today has not delivered the game..
the mail to confirm delivery arrived me this morning

I'm very disappointed about this because I think ShopTo.net
has charged money early and shipped after 3 days (not usually 24h)
because they did not wont loss pre-order buyers.

Why ShopTo.net doesn't shipped ON SATURDAY???

Technically they don't have GT5 in stock as it's still a pre-order, I would be extremely surprised if they had already run out of stock before fulfilling their existing pre-orders so I wouldn't take this too literally.

I've paid the £2 extra first class delivery from them and I'm starting to get a bit twitchy too but they have until close of play tomorrow to hand it over to the courier/Royal Mail and still deliver it on Wednesday so they haven't failed just yet.

I do agree it is a little unfair that people who have paid extra for delivery aren't the first to have their game dispatched but it's best not to get too worked up just yet.

Neal, everything you just said is far too rational, I keep refreshing this thread, and my email, and my amazon order (Regular edition with £2 first class postage) and the more I refresh it and see people receiving their orders whilst mine sits forever unchanging - well the more irrational I get...

I have already decided not to use amazon ever again :)

I don't agree with you there. The 3-5 day super saver free delivery isn't supposed to be release day delivery. Amazon specifically say that to guarantee release date delivery you need to pay for 1st class. Therefore the 1st class deliveries should take priority and be sent out first. Super savers shouldn't be getting their's until Friday.

Even so, I don't think anyone's really in a position to complain until they haven't received it as paid for on the 24th - although I can quite understand their frustration etc.

Ah, I see. I thought the super saver thing was for release day delivery.

I wasn't offered a release day option because I'm not in the UK, so for all I know they might have sent mine on friday had I chosen free 3-5 day delivery

I have sent amazon an email why i had a delivery estimate of 25th when they guaranteed release day delivery - they havent emailed me back.

I'm literally being forced to pay £7 shipping

I pre ordered my GT5:CE from amazon uk last week with first class postage but it hasn't been dispatched yet. Someone please reassure me that the games still coming on wednesday...

You wont find reassurance here, I ordered same as you except 6th September, 1st Class and there was an estimate of 25th November on the order even although they guaranteed delivery on release day.

I have now upgraded my shipping to expedited for an additional £5.01 and have sent them an email of disgust.
 
I think its safe to say im not ordering anything else from Amazon. People at ShopTo work on weekends to get us the game (respect), it's monday evening and Amazon still havent sent mine. Thank you for nothing.

I take it your in the UK, Amazon upgraded me to free release day with an estimate on the 24th. I really don't get why yours is the 25th, surely the estimation is across the board? I wouldn't worry if I were you though I see it more as Amazon being conservative and you probably will get it with the rest of us.

Mate. I know exactly how you feel as i've been through the exact same thing myself and it sucks ass but just take a breather for a moment.

Theres no point sending countless emails or ringing up amazon every 5 minutes as you end up speaking with people who either know sod all about how the warehouse and distribution side of things works or don't even know what GT5 is.

Take everything you hear with a pinch of salt.

Yes its highly annoying when you've paid extra for express delivery and others are getting it before you but like I said earlier in the thread your paying extra to guarentee your delivery comes on release day NOT BEFORE. If it comes before then count yourself lucky.

I'm 99.999% sure your copy will arrive on Wednesday. If it doesn't then by all means get them on the blower and demand a refund of your £7.

Until then just have a yourself a horlicks and relax.

And next time buy from Play or shopto and take the standard Royal Mail postage.

Wee as my delivery estimate was 23rd - 24th with Amazon Prime, I'll be lucky to see it tomorrow unless the mail now comes via Veyron..... actually how cool would that be!
 
Damn that wishful thinking...I was just wishing that it would have been on the doorstep after returning from work...Well from my experience with GAME it should arrive tomorrow
 
Along the same lines as mk1junkie. If you were given release day delivery surely the clue is in the title. Not sure how binding (if at all) that is, but it is worth checking it out to see where you stand before you contact them.

I actually wish i cancelled my amazon order this morning and gave shopto my money.
 
I preordered my CE from amazon last week. I had the signature reserved at gamestation but I wouldn't have got there after work and what with a new car on the way, canceled it :( no email from amazon as of yet either..might ring the game near work and try to get a ce or if it comes to it a signature edition reserved for wednesday :s
 
I ordered my standard copy from shopto at around 10:30 last night, and it was dispatched at 11 this morning, in the email they said it should be here for tomorrow! (23rd)

Amazon have breached their own rules on handling orders, when a Manager or Director hears of this do you think he will listen to people saying don't complain or moan? No, he will arrange for notices to be given to fire those responsible, jobs could be lost here. It's not a case of simple moaning about release dates. Something serious within the company has gone wrong.

if some people are getting the game early its just to save amazon from a huge rush the day before release or whenever they have to dispatch it
 
To anybody that has pre-ordered the Signature Edition from GAME. Are you able to track your package via the ParcelForce link given in the E-Mail. Because my tracking number is C******** And it says it is invalid. Is my tracking number too short?
 
Defo down for me ! It has let me in a couple of times but just keep getting a broken link etc....

Maybe there is a huge wave of people buying GT5

Maybe someone let slip that if they order now they can have it a day early. Possibly me :)
