come on guys... it's only the 22nd.

little premature to panic just yet... unless of course where you are is already the 23rd and your copy has not shipped yet.

I still see no movement from Amazon US.

I'm hoping I'll see something by tomorrow.

I did hope to see it "in processing" by this past Sunday thinking maybe they'd ship it 3 day shipping to save themselves cost for release day orders but I guess they are planning on overnight shipping.

hopefully we'll get an update soon.

Gamestop just changed my CE Pre-order to backordered and then locked the cancel order button. I pre-ordered on 8/22. What's up with that?

Same thing happened to me. I called them up and they told me it is packaged and ready to ship which is why it's showing back ordered, weird I know. Your credit card should read as a pending payment for the pre-order.
 
Amazon.fr also put my pre-order in the hands of "La Poste" :scared:

Hope no serious strikes in France this week (they actually are striking today, but no impact to service they stated.)
Guess all the strikers are playing GT5 already :ouch:
 
FFS.. My game has arrived at the local postcentral meaning that I'll get it today.. If it wasn't because I'm sitting in school doing nothing.. Oh well I guess I'll just have to wait till tomorrow to pick it up at the postoffice. :(
 
Just waitin on the postman...hopefully it arrives before I leave for work...get some racing in...suppose during installation time I can get mt kit ready for work

Waiting for my copy to arrives at my local retailers tomorrow. Working tomorrow, so I guess can only play after work ;(
 
Mine has been dispatched today. Huzzah. I should have remembered not to use Amazon for somethign this big really. I've been let down once before.... can't remember what that was for though, might have been my launch day 360 actually. This is the first time I've used them for a pre-ordered game, have gotten so used/spoilt by having them turn up a day or two early. lol.
Not upset or annoyed at all, I don't go to work until 12 today but will be switching shifts tomorrow to ensure good GT5 gaming time :)
 
Well my postman has been and posted a few bills but no GT5. It now must be tommorow I guess.
It was despatched from shopto yesterday so anyone else get that email from them and got the game or didn't please let me know.
 
Amazn Uk says dispatching SOON. I used to hate that word, I like it now.

I called gamestops 800# and asked to check the status of my order. I told them that my debit card had been charged, but my order says backordered and I placed it on June 17th. I gave him the order # and he said thats incorrect, its actually waiting on a pallet to ship out tomorrow, you have guaranteed release date delivery for the 24th. Might give them a ring to verify as well. Should receive a tracking # tomorrow.

Thanks for checking that since I just looked at my order and it also said backordered, and I ordered on June 16th. Will check again in the late morning, and i hope what you say about guarenteed delivery on the 24th. That would be awesome!

I ordered my standard copy from shopto at around 10:30 last night, and it was dispatched at 11 this morning, in the email they said it should be here for tomorrow! (23rd)

I have sent my final letter of complaint to Amazon, will see what happens from now. The incompetence shown so far has made me nervous that they wont send the stealth car codes by email as they are meant to. I bet they say my order never showed it as having the offer. Will find out on Wednesday.
Just got to say that Amazon have been my favourite online shop for quite a few years, until NOW. It all depends now whether my loyalty will be kept by them by performing extraordinarily good customer service, they are not doing well enough so far.

I've worked in customer service for about 13 years (not for Amazon before you ask). My tip is to stop complaining, honestly.

The people on the end of the phone / e-mail are normal people and the more that you complain and annoy them, the less likely they will be willing to help. Your best bet is to be nice and polite. If I have two people, one complaining and one who is polite and nice, I'll push the nicer person above the other and deal with them first, then if another nicer person comes along I'll deal with them above the other person too.

Please don't take this as a dig at you, I'm trying to help, you wouldn't want a 'nicer' person to get a copy of the game that really should have gone to you :)

I am at work but I got the missus to text me if/when it arrives, I did have a preorder with amazon from back in July but got a bit worried when the new release date was announced they were telling me not to expect it until mid december still, so I cancelled to be on the safe side and ordered with play.com, it seems I may have done the right thing, especially if the game arrives today.

If I do get it I will let everyone know

I'm waiting tensely right now too. My Play.com CE was posted on the 19th. It didn't come yesterday....

Fingers crossed. I'll make a thread out of excitement if it arrives today thats for sure.

I get the impression I'll be getting mine tomorrow morning now. Happy with that, not overly worried about getting it ahead of people seeing as some lucky folks have had it for a week or so anyway lol

I know now mine's not coming today. Sad Face.
 
Just got my copy...not bad considering I only placed the order friday :crazy: Iv'e always used gameplay for this very reason.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to get my motor running...good luck to all the rest of you guys for today it's been a hell of a wait ;)
 
Nothing yet (shipped yesterday from shopto).

I'd be amazed if it did arrive today. Most other times of the year it's quite possible.

Shame shopto couldn't post on a Saturday like play.com and amazon have done with some orders.
 
Got real excited then as I just got a text from my better half, it read:

"Post doesn't come til about 1pm so don't panic if I dont txt til late"

Gonna be a long 4 hours, still I have aboring work meeting soon, that should kill a bit of time
