He did win a shootout, but I guess that doesn't count.

Just remembered it was the Gatorade duels, Duel #2 I think. I know it wasn't points paying like the others, but surely its still a win.

Who expected only 5 cautions? Thought it would be like 2..yet again a boring race, Congrats to Khane though.

Oh you're one of those...

If you really think about it, what about pre-90s and now when there were more American makes. So I think there have been other drivers winning in several manufactures. However, I understand what you guys mean with the current formula.

Congratulations to all winners from this weekend's races at Charlotte. Here are the next five races for all three of NASCAR's top touring series:

* 7/14 - Iowa
* 7/21 - Chicagoland

Next Five Races: Nationwide
* 6/2 - Dover
* 6/16 - Michigan
* 6/23 - Road America
* 6/29 - Kentucky
* 7/6 - Daytona

Next Five Races: Cup
* 6/3 - Dover (NASCAR on FOX 2012 finale; TNT takes over afterwards)
* 6/10 - Pocono
* 6/17 - Michigan

How about a little discussion? Who do you think will win before the other: Jeff Gordon or Dale Earnhardt Jr.?

Bring on Dover... us NASCAR fans are ready!

I want to say Jeff Gordon.

I'm ready for Dover, just not ready for TNT to take over from FOX.

The way Gordons been running this year I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't win all season. Little E was hot earlier, but looks to be fading as usual going into the summer. I would have to give the edge to Junior so far, but I am not sure if either one will get a win this year.

Getting the international feed it doesn't matter who does it, we still get shoddy cover-ups of network logos and sponsors. But presentation wise I prefer TNT. And I think ESPN definitely doesn't make a NASCAR race feel exciting

Gordon's had plenty of good runs this year, his problem is luck. Almost all his problems have been out of his control. If he can get luck back on his side, he will win again.

Oh, I am not saying he can't or won't win, just I could see it not happening. With his experience, equipment and team he is certainly capable of it. As a matter of fact I thought if anyone was going to stop Jimmy last year that he had the best shot at it. Just that the competition is so very tight these days.

Jeff Gordon, despite still running strong, is way past his prime. Not to say he still has a very good chance at winning another Cup championship though. Look at Mark Martin, the guy almost won the 2009 Cup championship at age 50.

Last year, everyone thought Stewart was past his prime and his career was practically done and look what he pulled off. Gordon is a bit further behind compared to Stewart at this point, but if he can keep luck on his side and score top 5s and top 10s with a win or two before The Chase begins I can easily see him in the top 10 in points.

Ganassi Racing held a fan votel on the "Greatest Ganassi Driver". The contest came down to Montoya and Franchitti. Somehow, Montoya won.

Those are just favoritism polls. In a contest like that chances are the right person won't win.

What confuses me on that is Montoya in a previous round had gone head to head with Dan Wheldon.

I guess Nascar has a skew in fan voting.

I can't imagine too many "typical" NASCAR fans were voting for Montoya, as he is less than popular in NASCAR. His non-NASCAR driving credentials do kindly favor him though. He has a win in the Indy 500, F1 GP of Monaco, 24 Hours of Daytona, and a CART series driver's title to his credit. He won the CART series title, Indy 500, and 24 hours of Daytona all in his first attempt.

The only place he has really ever struggled is in NASCAR, where he managed to win a road course event in the Nationwide series and the Sprint Cup, both in his rookie season. It's not fair to say he's not Chip's best driver, because no one Chip has put in his NASCAR program has done much, Franchitti included.

If Recall, NASCAR fans don't exactly favor Montoya. I imagine as MustangRyan pointed that his accomplishments in multiple series sort of put him at abit of advantage over the others.

No, he is not popular in NASCAR at all, we don't call him "one problem Montoya" for nothing. Even though the jet dryer incident was not his fault, you know he is never going to live that one down :crazy:

I know he won't ever leave Ganassi or Target, but I would love to see what Juan could do in top-tier equipment with a highly-regarded crew chief that wouldn't be bullied/intimidated by JPM's foul attitude.

Does that win at the 24hr of Daytona include the one where he tore the nose off the car so many times they finished with an unfinished white nose because they ran out of spares? They should have sat his *ss for that one, but hey, it's Chip Ganassi so that didn't happen. I think he should be retired, I wouldn't want to be on any type of track in any type of car anywhere near him!

Yeah, but we all know if he's given a good car, he's nearly unstoppable despite the bad luck.

I think if Dale Earnhardt was still around , he would have loved for Juan to be apart of his team (D.E.I) especially with that attitude!
